Why does the Buford water tank appear to be a hundred feet tall?

Is this the real life counterpart?

I didnt even know what the buford water tank is 5 seconds ago.

Its up to developers how to choose the generic assets and how much they are gonna actually model. Fact is for somebody knowing the areas, he will notice much more details (inaccuracies) as somebody never visited the route.

Also it depends on the route. That DTG cant model every house in the harlem line should be obvious. But here i have to agree, sherman hill has a lot of landscape and desert, so why not go the extra mile and recreate those kind of objects accuratly. Its 1 asset, and would make the route more special, since the generic water tank can be seen many times on other routes.

Its basicly same with West cornwall local, the "famous" truro cathedral, represented by 3 default churches. Rivet recreated the stations really well, but completly ignored the scenery around. Shame, and even immersion braking for a non cornwall citizen.

In the first place a route has to be believable, and i think sherman hill is good from that aspect.

Yeah, the Sherman Hill summit sign is still missing, even though that's a pretty iconic and important part of a railway summit. When I first drove the route, I didn't even realize I was driving over the summit, as I was expecting to see the sign.

Yes, that's the one. They even acknowledged it is missing. But considering the absence of any real updates or fixes for Sherman Hill (I mean, the collectibles are still not collectable, in-cab signalling buggy), I'm not suprised it's still missing.

Not to mention the framerate-destroying grass! I can only play SHH if I quit the game and swap in a vanilla .ini file, and then even with foliage turned to low I'm only getting around 25fps.

Wish you guys would stop demanding ever greater detail.
I was perfectly happy with that water tank.
Now I'll always feel unloved by Dovetail every time I go past it :(
