The view from inside the cab (both pictures taken during the tutorial):

Right when I started the route, what immediately caught my eye is that the Sd70Ace's cab seems to make everything outside look extremely bright and washed out. As the pictures above show, the difference between outside and cab view is really dramatic. It also makes the environment lose a lot of it's details and color shades, therefore making the route look a bit less pretty.

I don't know if this is a creative choise or a bug. On the other hand it does add a bit of desert feeling to the route. I just think it's a bit too much and would like to see it toned down a bit. I'm on Ps5, but this seems to affect all the other platforms as well.

Yes, it's been like that ever since the first preview stream, I wonder how it didn't bother them, because it's so obvious.

It seems to be an issue with Unreal Engine's automatic eye adaptation thingy, because on PC I could turn it off by setting r.eyeAdaptationQuality=0 in the engine.ini. With that setting, the colors look good even from inside the cab.

I suppose for some reason the game thinks the cab if too dark so adapts the eye to it, making the bright outside look too bright. Interestingly this is the only route/locomotive that does this.

I too saw it on the preview stream and it distracted me a lot. That actually made me consider not buying the route, even when I had looked forward to it. Sherman Hill seems to be the only route where the Sd70Ace's cab does this. I tried it on Sand Patch Grade an there it looked normal.
