    Hi everyone!

As some of you may have already seen, Skyhook games released a series of screenshots for Cane Creek route that is currently in production... Links to the pictures are hidden in the page source on one of their webpages. But that is not all.

There are also a few pictures of the upcoming Hamburg to Lubeck route. Enjoy!

Kind of hard to run a 112 without wires

In the second screenshot, there's a grey box on a green pole - I think this is a placeholder for a signal (implying these are very early screenshots), so I'd guess the wires just haven't gone up (in the TS1 editor, OHLE tends to just get in the way so it may be the same story here).

Or Skyhood is responsible for raw scenery and DTG for infrastructure (signaling, etc)

You might be right, this is on their website:
    Route placement

Route placement consists of Dovetail providing the route in UE4 with the lidar data and track placed, and all the assets needed to populate the route.

Our placement team, using google earth as reference then dress along the track adding any roads, buildings and foliage as required, each artist will place approximately 1/2 kilometre of set dressing per day.

    Asset Building

The asset/ hero building creation, involves Dovetail providing reference shots of the Building required and position in Google Earth. The team will then also use Google Earth for further reference, and to get the correct measurements of the buildings, thay will also scouring image hosting sites for further reference shots to cover all angles

The asset is then modelled and textured using a PBR workflow, and Dovetails preferred texture layout method.

We’ve been providing assets for Dovetail’s Train Simulator since Skyhooks inception.

I’d hope that ballast texture gets changed as it’s very, very noticeably repetitive.

Still looks like a straight railway through a boring flat landscape, just like the Train Simulator version. :P

German content's biggest pro is, it looks very realistic. Sometimes the Euro scenery isn't very spectacular, but still, it is always an immersive experience <3

Do you think Skyhook are the second party who did the HS1 on SEHS?

No, I think that the HS1 part was done by a second party, likely how they are managing to do bigger routes now.

I don't think so, HS1 looked like a joke and after seeing the Cane Creek Screenshots there's no way Skyhook would produce something like that.

Yes, I believe it is because ICE services run on it so I think it will be very similar to Koln to Aachen.

well actually there are almost no ICE or IC services on this route, but a few freight and many regional services. The reason that it is that straight is, that they were able to build it straight. It’s cheaper when you can go a short way without tunnels and bridges, and that has been done here. This route has no LZB and the top speed is 160km/h, but it’s still a very nice route since it’s in the north where we hadn’t got one. And I would love to see some new containerwaggons along with the Br182, maybe some of Maersk, evergreen and co.; or other Klv train waggons! And the other thing I hope: There are a few IC services on this route, so I hope we will get a few Br101 services on this route :D

thanks! I noticed something: On one of the photos there was a tanker waggon with the GATX logo on it; so has DTG got the license to use this Logo and we might get it when the MSB update comes out? Sounds like a question for the next q and a stream!

Interesting to know, I believe the RE8, RE80, RE81. I don’t know for sure but I watched a couple of ‘trains at’ on YouTube. That’s were I saw the ICE train. But it does look like their is very few ICE IRL. I had a look at the stopping pattern of the trains, and personally I find it quite interesting, with some trains terminating along the route and some going all the way between Hamburg to Lubeck.

I noticed that there is a EWS class 08, I know they have the EWS license because that’s what the class 66 is in on East Coastway but didn’t realise that they had class 08s in this livery.

I saw that as well. I can only assume it's a placeholder skin or from a cancelled project, or perhaps just a prototype.

I’m not sure, but the ones on SPG are different ones than the Zacns

so here we go: I watched a few videos and most of the trains were intermodal trains with containers and trailers, but there were also a few trains with cars, tankers,... So I guess we will get new containerwaggons and the old freight waggons will also be implemented; but We‘ll see
