    Good evening,

I don't know if you have already noticed, but the platform displays have disappeared at several train stations in Munich - Augsburg.

At Release, Lochham, Gröbenzell, Mering St. Afra, Kissing have PIS.

Now the PIS have disappeared from the stations mentioned.

Here are two pictures from 19.11.2020 from Kissing & Mering St. Afra.

And now here are two pictures of Kissing and Mering St. Afra at 26.02.2021

Where is the PIS at these stations now? How can the PIS delete itself?

How can that happen if the route has not updated since 22.10.2020 19:14?

All train stations except Lochham, Groebenzell, Mering St. Afra and Kissing have PIS.

    I dont understand that....

At the Livestream from Matt today, there are also no PIS on this stations.

I know. All train stations between Pasing and Augsburg do not have a PIS in real life, but why does DTG only delete them at certain train stations and why was the file not updated?

I for one, would like these back in, they were very useful when I'm travelling around on service mode. OK, so they may not be there in real life, since when should that matter to DTG? BR 70's Blue Pack anyone?

I was actually really worried when Adam said on a roadmap stream he'd want PIS on every route (and presumably every station). PIS isn't even appropriate on routes like NTP or TVL, outside major stations (Leeds, Manchester and, to a much lesser extent, Darlington). PIS at Teesside Airport for example is not going to look good.

Btw, when I say PIS, I mean the actual displays. If they could play announcements without a screen, that'd be more appropriate.

Further context - even today, many stations in the north have no PIS screens - only announcements. Up here, they're generally only seen where commuter services run and major mainline stations.

Interesting. On US passenger railroads, pre-Amtrak and pre CRTs (much less LEDs), arrival and departure boards were maintained in most major terminals by insertable number/letter plates, like the hymn board in a church. And in some small stations they simply used a chalkboard!

(These were whole-station boards, not per-platform)

I certainly can remember when the DB indicated each car's destination with a cardboard sign, inserted in a bracket on the coach's side.

I would like to see a 70s/80s route with these though.

My question was actually, why someone deletes the PIS after the release and the file has not updated?

SteamDB also says that Munich - Augsburg has not received an update.

Did the platform displays delete themselves?

Kayako Support couldn't help me either, I was hoping someone from DTG would reply and know why is that.

Matt also don't know in the Stream, he said, they don't delete the PIS, but i have pictures from November.

I was surprised to see Mering St.Afra initially to include such pis screens when the route was released. The station does include single line fargastinformation displays but not the screens found on other stations.

However Kissing does include pis screens so I was surprised they were removed!

If they are to get technical about PIS screens, the displays in Pasing 9-10 are different to the s-bahn tracks with the layout showing also if the unit is a 4/8/12 piece train and showing the minutes up until when it's due whilst intercity platforms just show the departure time in 24hr format.
