749006 Peter, I take it you've been on a 76 during your time on the Woodhead line. I just found the RSC Class 76 audio cab occlusion file is complete rubbish (almost silent), and I wonder how loud the fans were audible in the cab, maybe you know that. I did modify the cab occlusion to sort of default values (-1800, 0.01, 0.5, 1) and it sounds much better to me. I've attached my audio fix which also has the annoying wind sound removed.
Whoever downloaded it, redownload - I was removing the wrong sound. It's actually not the "Wind" but the "Cab Draft" sound that's so annoying... I've restored the default engine.proxyxml and included it, only the cab proxyxml has changed. Clear the cache (Assets\RSC\Woodhead\blueprints.pak)
Yes. Sometimes when running Light Loco or when running a Class 6 without a Brake Van so the Guard rode on the loco. The fans were no where as loud as AC Electrics as they just cooled the traction motors on the Class 76s.
But the RSC Woodhead Class 76 is way too quiet by default (the BR versions are louder)? So you might want to check my mod and give some feedback? It's basically like the Woodhead BR occlusion, but with less loud outside sounds.
I downloaded your mod but I had not had the chance to test it. The one thing I noticed on the original Woodhead 76s was the amount of Wind noise when driving which you did not hear as much in real life. I think I found out what the wind noise was and deleted the file. Peter
The wind noise is "Cab draft.dav", but it's better to remove the reference in the proxyxml file than to delete the file. (For future compatibility this is the clean method. You can never know how future versions will react to a missing file), which I did. Also lowered the occlusion so you can at least hear the fans from the cab.
My method was to rename the file to Cab draft.bak the create a new notepad file and call that Cab draft.dav The System finds a file but there is no sound to play.
Fair enough. Still you need to update the Cab Occlusion, as it's almost completely eliminating any sounds by default.
