Idk why this locomotive was never brought up. We all love GP9s and can't get enough of them. But what about this GP9? You know? THE GP9 MODEL THAT EVEN N3V GAMES REMEMBERS?

This is Southern Pacific 2890, a Chop Nose GP9. Almost like an SD40-2 "Snout" locomotive, except with the body of a GP9 low hood. These were purchased by Southern Pacific to make it far easier for engineers to see while operating, because of how tedious High Hoods, especially the long hood forward high hoods, can be during operation. We never see low Hood GP9s in TSC. There are Low Hood GP40-2s (which were common, but there were some high hood gp40-2s), Low hood GP38-2s, A low Hood GP20 and a Low Hood GP50 and GP60 (not sure if there were High Hood GP60s). There is a High Hood 38-2 and a 50, but no low hood GP9. Not a SINGLE Low Hood GP9. Why DTG? Why isn't there a low hood GP9. There isn't even a low hood SD9, compared to the fact there are two SD9s for TSC Then we have 20+ GP9s, a handfull of them being in a standalone dlc, several of them featured in retro packs (multiple liveries don't count), and most being part of dlc routes (and base game routes). Yet, no Chop Nose GP9. Can we at least get a Southern Pacific Chop Nose GP9? I think we all deserve that. We all know how much you love og locomotives DTG. Do us a solid and give us a Chop Nose GP9..... and SD7/9.

No GP9, GP7, SD7 or SD9 were ever built as low nose , they were all modified by either the railroads or contractors and usually had the long hood forward controls (where fitted) changed to short hood forward at the same time. Very few SDs were converted compared to the number of GPs. Many railroads operated high and low hoods side by side. The absence of low hood GP7/9 and SD7/9 is only matched by the scarcity of the Alco Century line.

Which may be partially helped, as Diesel Workshop is currently making a C424 (Though it will most likely only be released in their store only.)

Well you're looking at a GP9 low nose right now.

Okay I see what you're saying. I do believe that most were converted, not built, but it wouldn't hurt to play around with one. Plus a GP7 and the like don't have to be built as a chop nose you know. Converted is converted, so it's still a chop nose either way technically.
