Just tried to complete the first scenario on this route and got to within a few kilometres at the end and the HUD showed a speed limit reduction to 60kph. Iam really stil in training and finding it difficult to read trackside signs so rely on the HUD. Got there and the limit went down to 40kph and effectively wiped 700+points for speeding! And up to then I had kept all 1000 points safely. Not fair DTG. <GRIN>
Some speed limits are imposed by signals rather than lineside signs. German signalling is very, very hard to learn, but rewarding to master. I think Purno over on Steam has created a guide to German signals; that may be of interest to you.
Unfortunately the HUD, whilst great when it's been correctly programmed, also has many many many many flaws, BUT now you know where those issues occur so you can go back and now you know to drop your speed accordingly. In the end it is much better to read the signs and following them enroute rather than relying on a HUD
German Signalling is Very Easy to Learn because of the limited number of aspects the Signal shows The route comes with a Manual which is installed on your computer and it describes German Signalling. VorsIgnal (Vr) Vr signals are distant signal types and indicate to you what you should expect the next active signal to be showing. Vr0 – Two Yellow – Caution, expect stop Vr1 – Two Green – Expect Clear Vr2 – Green/Yellow – Expect Caution with a speed restriction (40km/h unless stated) Hauptsignal This signal protects entry to a block. Hp0 – Red, Stop - do not proceed Hp1 - Green: Clear to proceed Hp2 – Yellow and Green: Caution, Proceed at 40km/h unless a speed is specified. Sh 1 – Red and Double White: Shunting permitted
According to you guys DTG is not going to correct these things so why even put your opinion which is basically what I am being told.
