Speedometer Hud Size, Really ?!?!?

    Running on 4K 43 inch here, on my desk. 'Speedometer HUD size: small'.... Have you guys even looked at how humongous it still is? The difference between large and small is minimal.

    Make it scalable or like 1/3 of 'small'.

    there is a workaround, by using ini setting in the engine ini, do keep in mind that if you do this, the little bouncing ball as I call it that points to each objective like turning on the battery, putting the reverser in forward, putting pantagraph up, close circuit breaker, putting your lights to "whatever setting" and so on, that it will be out of place, everywhere.
    It's not ideal but I got used to it, and it makes the hud much smaller.

    ApplicationScale=0.600 <-- you can change this to 500 or 700

    And yes you would think that they would have thought of this over the past year.

    I am using the workaround, at 0.50. The problem with that is that indeed, all other markers onscreen will also be 'scaled' into wrong positions.
    I'm just heavily annoyed that yet once more I've paid for what should have been normal updates/fixes and again don't get what I expect.
    If they uncoupled the overlay between HUD and markers already, how hard can it be to make a slider for it? :mad:

    Yup don't I know it, I just tried one Vectron scenario, Ballast Boogie, and as I was getting to Riesa I lost the throttle and even had to put into emergency breaking, to stop, the breaks were not working very well, the hud is too big or uses minimal and we the payers $$ need to use workarounds to make it usable. This is what I was afraid of, sure enough here we are.

    It used to be smaller. When the HUD was altered to add the left hand section for steam trains (in TSW2), the ‘small’ option for the main HUD became as large as the old ‘large’ option and the ‘large’ option became gigantic. It was reported at the time as I believe it was an error but it never changed. I thought they might have added more options by now but feedback on this issue hasn’t filtered down to the people who make the decisions on such matters. They did add new HUD types for TSW4 but not this sizing option that would have been more use to many players, those who need the full HUD but don’t need it in its massive size, as requested by many many players over the years.

    Touching on your post, I did watch the short video by DTG around the launch of TS4 "and yes I did call it this deliberately" and one of the items of discussion was the hud. I grabbed some screenshots to show the closed captioning.

    I really don't understand how they could say there was no need to change what really worked well, REALLY? If that was the case we would not be using work arounds, ie; ini settings.

    While the talk of the town is the Hud. And I know many will say "you Crazy - Pie in the sky - I like pie:) MMM but it is very similar, and almost the same HSV, Honestly It really doesn't matter, but in the sense that this is all that was changed other than the minimal or beginner option in the settings. And if they did use my idea for the hud great, don't pat me on the back that is a sign of distrust, but a thanks of some kind would be nice.

    But to show that I'm not a complete nutcase. I have been using this color longer than I ever had or heard any idea of TSW4
