Saying "It will work good in TSW because it works in TSC" is inherently a bad argument. TSC has a ton of North American freight content that doesn't go over in TSW. Why? Different playerbase. TSC is entirely older PC players. TSW is mostly younger, console players (about 80%) There's some crossover, but not as much as you'd think.
I didn't say it WILL work though, I said it COULD work. There was nothing definitive in my statement.
Doesn't change anything. Asking someone to take a risk won't happen unless you think it WILL work. Otherwise, what's the point? Are you really going to go to a TSC developer and say "well it probably won't work, but you should try it anyway?" No, you wouldn't say that (I hope.) You would only convince them with a positive affirmation "it will work." No one invests time and money into a "it might work" if they can help it. If I told you "quit your job now, sell your house, move to another country and I MIGHT have a job for you...maybe...possibly... what would you say? Would you jump at the chance? Or would you want more proof it was a sure thing before stopping what you're doing and radically changing course? Same here. That's why you can't wiggle out and say "well it might work maybe" and expect third party developers to jump all over it. A GOOD policy would be to wait to see how the new route from TSG with the BR 23 does and if it sells a lot of copies. THEN they might take a risk. If it doesn't.... then don't expect much more steam. It's really up to the steam fans to put up or shut up when this new route comes out. That will determine the future of steam in TSW.
If it sells well does that mean that you will finally shut up and admit defeat? like first of this upcoming addon is being made by TSG or in other words one of the best third parties for this game and second it’s been two years since the last steam locomotive in game, so people are dying for more hence how many suggestions there were. lastly unlike last time this team doesn’t lie about working on stuff like DTG did when they said they were working on improving steam in tsw 3 I’m so tried of this back and forth about will steam do well or not when it will obviously do well if made with an actual good team like what’s happening this time
Again, all irrelevant. I'd LOVE more steam in game, but the constant whining and unfounded speculation is what's not helpful. What is helpful is if you just "shut up" and buy the TSG product when it comes out. That's ALL that matters. Sadly, if this doesn't sell well I don't think we'll see much steam again, and then are you going to blame it on "bad implementation?" Sniffing hopium doesn't replace solid sales. That and not violently attacking TSG if it's not "perfect" of course. It's really on the players to do their part when it's released.
The loco looks good; a lot better than the hideous textures on the Jubilee, 8F and 4F. I have no doubt that the route itself will be good, but the DLC will only be worth buying if the steam upgrades TSG are making actually do anything meaningful. There is no guarantee of that, and so the route is going to be in the 'maybe' pile until it comes out. I wouldn't recommend getting hyped before we know that the steam physics are improved substantially. Hopefully they also fix the awful particle effects as well, but I'm not keeping my hopes up.
Steam will never be as big as it is on PC, since you have tons of freeware and endless steam content. Routes and locos. I mean if steam is your main passion you’re definitely on the wrong game.
