Just wondering, because all-VK-rot is all wrong for the stated period (2000). The 423s and 101s but very little else; there should be a sea of mint green and orientrot, with more than a little ozeanblau.
In the original timetable there you should see the mint versions. In the timetable with the BR147 they arent pressent
Yes, that certainly helps! Funny, I searched all over TSC yesterday and it never came up- their search engine could use an upgrade. However, I did get some tasty 140 and 111 liveries more appropriate to the period. ________________________ Query: was the Stuttgart S-Bahn 423 fleet in VK-Rot at the time, or in a local livery?
It was red at the time the original timetable is set in as well as the 2019(?) one. The new design came up only in recent years.
A sort of related question- has anyone done a swap mod that substitutes 140s for 110s on LFR's freight services?
That partly depends on the build series of the trains. There were 8 series and the last one was mostly red on delivery already. Munich had some blue ones running into the 2000's. The fleets were starting to get painted red in 1996 and it took some years to either repaint them or replace them with 423 units. That much I can tell you without much research. You could reach out to the Historische S-Bahn NRW society, as they have a 420 in working condition on their roster. Many of the members actually work for the railways including the chairman who spent his training years in Stuttgart. He's also well-known to us, as he was a guest on many DTG preview streams. https://www.historische-s-bahn.nrw/ Don't know his handle on this very forum, but he's known as Trainsa and has a youtube channel as well, so should be easy to reach. Hope that helps.
