Berlin U-Bahn would be so amazing. Rode both the S Bahn and U Bahn when I went on holiday to Berlin in 2009. Still remember it like I only went yesterday.
I do like the TSC version especially the procedural aspect with station duties, though you can ignore that if you wish. Would suggest if it was adapted for TSW, the German radio messages might have to be dubbed into English or subtitled for those of who’s German is limited to, “Bier bitte”, “Haben zie zimmer frei?”
I think considering the sensitive commercial nature of licensing negotitations anything DTG says about them should be taken with a pinch of salt.
Here's my opinion. The class 700 has been one of the most requested EMU. I don't believe DTG would make it just for one route. I think it will be similar to what was done with the Acela. The 700 will layer on this UK route. the US route will be a freight route. The German DLC not so sure. they might keep it 90's era to continue. but who knows. all speculation
Never understood why the lack of branding would prevent DTG creating a fan-favourite route, and the Island Line 2022 is a good example of how good a route can be sans official branding. Of course, having more BR era routes would get around that completely hehe.
Few reasons. So first up, it doesn't actually *prevent* it, it just makes it undesirable - there's always the option to say "we'll go without it". So why is it undesirable: First up, massive feedback from players along the lines of "why release unfinished? why missing brands? omg hope modders fix dtg products" and so forth. While a few of you here are savvy to the way these things work in real life, the majority of players just see it as an unfinished product and complain (and I don't really disagree with that complaint either personally). Second, getting permission to use the logo is one thing, but it often comes with other behind the scenes things like access to resource and so forth, which makes creating a product more viable in the first place. If there's no support from the operator, then alongside no logos, frankly the rest of the product will suffer too. Last, in all honesty, speaking personally, I'd simply much rather work with those operators who want to work with us. They bend over backwards to help in most cases and help us get what we need to get things to a great level, in many cases because they have fans of the game working on their staff who want to see their trains and environments in the game too - so if there's a path where everyone wins, it's gotta be a preferred route to go. BUT as I say, this isn't a binary on/off thing. Everything is weighed up, but I will always prefer branded licensed content over unbranded stuff for the reasons above (along with, personally, I just think it looks better). Matt.
Definitely in agreement their, I would like to add its also like losing a feature of the game when a licence ain’t there. Not that many games tend to go for real world licensing (most likely due to all the work required to implement it) it really improves the realism element when brands such as “SNCF” and “DB” don the liveries over made up ones like say for example “The Happy Train Company” etc style titles. also helps boost up the things that relate to the game being more sided to a simulator.
One thing id like to input here also on the off chance it's spotted Is that any routes running into London need better scenery. Frustrates me tsc has a better amount of detail like the shard etc creating the atmoshere of London That's money I've saved right away. I can't think of anything worse than 3 tunnel simulators and single lines.. Sheesh
I think I'd sooner have another Electrostar than another underground line mostly in tunnels. Obviously, none of these would be ideal so don't see this as me asking for another electrostar DTG because I am not!
In the roadmap from March (I think), there’s this image shown The image shows a bit of Bregenz, in the direction of Lindau. I have the feeling that Bregenz could be one endpoint of the German route, which could be Bregenz-Lindau-Kempten, but not in modern day, but some years back because the diversion over Memmingen wasn’t electrified which lead to all EC and IC trains to go over Kempten to Munich (I think it’s a bit older, because it was teased, that the 628 would fit with the next route)
To be honest, I don’t know what to expect with this summer release. UK will probably be a modern EMU route, coming off the back of the 700’s release with it layering in. I’d rather a BR Diesel era route with a Deltic personally. Now that would get my hype muscles going! For Germany, I’m hoping for either more vintage content or Hamburg-Hannover. As for US, I don’t really know too much about American Railroads so I’m empty when it comes to specific suggestions. Would like to see either more passenger content or another historic route like Clinchfield.
BNSF was an odd one, as DTG still had the license, but could only release it branded in the US on TSC.
And it's worth a reminder that the " Racetrack " in TSC came with BNSF freight ( branded only in the US as I recall ), and Amtrak's Southwest Chief ( AI) in addition to unbranded Metra bi- level commuter trains. ( immediately re-branded by 3rd party mod ). A varied gameplay route with a freight branch and a perfect length for TSW3. Of course, it was a 3rd party route for TSC, but DTG could make it for TSW3.
Now the thing is, do we allow Matt his three guesses? Or has anyone actually told the EP what they're making for the summer???
For Germany, the eastern side of the Munich area with München Ost and the S-Bahn lines out to Freising and the airport- and (pretty please) including the lower Hbf platforms and the City Tunnel
BNSF was a different problem. It wasn't that the company was averse, but rather that the US and international rights were owned by different arms of Berkshire-Hathaway and they couldn't coordinate for some time.
Lol. Well, here you go, this is what i'd guess: Tallyllyn Railway for the UK. Blue Mountain Railway in Australia Darjeeling and Himalayan in India. And if i'm wrong, i'm going to stamp my feet and pout a lot. Matt.
US: what about Saluda Mountain, the steepest sustained standard-gauge line in the world? Just recently closed, and being sold to make a hiking trail- but could be wonderful as a vintage route (Southern RR).

Summer 2021 release was- rush hour Boston, Dresden, London Commuter (announced in May 2021) Summer 2022 release was - TSW3 Kassel, Cajon pass, SEHS Extended ( announced Aug 9th) Summer 2023 ??????????????????? Not sure if all is accurate

Those 3 would be an amazing selection, although the Kalka–Shimla Railway would be a better choice IMO.
Feel like the route may lack traffic that some people would prefer in a TSW route. The line is also single track and would probably run into the odd problem with Clinchfield running trains properly into sidings. And unlike the Clinchfield, the line can't fallback onto branch lines for more services. (Spartanburg is the only real major yard I can find in the area.) The 1 unique thing about the Southern Railroad though is the fact they liked high hood diesels and usually ran locos Long Hood Foward. Power wise I would expect a somewhat new loco in the SD45 if DTG explores this option. But I don't see it as a strong candidate as a US freight route for TSW.
I'll go with: 1. NA. Completely revamped and refurbished LIRR ( improved timetable, sounds, signaling and scenery.) 2. UK. Newport to Shrewsbury. 3. Germany- Austria. Munich to Rosenheim.
Ooh if we're talking narrow gauge, the WHR has to be a prime candidate! Now that is a Fairlie good idea I reckon.
If they did that with 218s I would be the happiest person in the world that is assuming they are with tb10 or tb11 engines which as they were mainly Kempton ones they should have but if they did them with those stupid caterpillar engines which are silent I would cry.

Hmmm... UK- Newcastle to 'somewhere' (30-40 miles max.), refurbished Deltic, passenger/freight... US- Revelstoke to Rogers Pass/or Spiral Tunnels- can do freight and passenger (Rocky Mountaineer)...this time with actual mountains *cough* FR- Paris to 'somewhere' Locomotive: 700 pak, complete with a 'journey' series and several paints. Rolling Stock Sets make an appearance. New commercial deal with Hornby- new model loco matched with TSW loco
It wouldn't be the 420 since tsg is making it as a separate dlc and he said second party projects with dtg take priority. Plus, dtg said the 420 will be held off until hma gets optimized so still a while off
Will be called "TSW3 - Into The Future" and will feature UK - East West Rail Western Oxford To Milton Keynes & Bedford, doing this will actually provide a further major station for when the WCML is brought to TSW and will actually beat the real railway by a number of months. USA - Washington - Philadelphia and will feature the Avela again beating the real life train into service. Germany - TSW first international route will be an extension/update of SKA to include Belgium's HSL3 to Liege and will feature the ICE 3Neo (the "new" part) & Thalys PBKA's along with existing German stock on the original SKA section.
The 420 is an S-Bahn train; it doesn't do REs or RBs. The Garmisch run is handled by 442s and (on weekends) ICE tourist trains.
It wouldn't need to run REs or RBs, the S-Bahn serves the route as far as Tutzing and the S6 is actually one of the lines on which the BR 420 is currently used.
A nice idea and not too far away, at least for today. Because: Until a few years ago, the 612 and 628 series (or the 644 Talent class) were still driving there. Both vehicles are already available and would finally get a good run-out (especially the 612, which has only ever been driven "under wire"). And for me the whole thing would have "home field advantage". I really don't know enough to have any kind of wishlist or suggestions... other than, I'd really enjoy seeing other parts of the world outside of UK, US and DE. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy routes in those countries too, but for me part of the fascination with TSW is feeling like I'm seeing a little bit of life elsewhere - and something in Asia, South America or Africa would be soooo different to anything I've seen so far. Failing that, I'd settle for Italy, Eastern Europe or Scandinavia too... but I understand the commercial argument regarging sales (and I suspect the toe-dipping so far into France and Austria possibly hasn't been convincing).
