With talk of wanting the 700 on the BML, and the recent dual timetables on SEHS, how about an 'enhanced' timetable on BML that would include the 700. This would leave the regular timetable for systems which were unable to stand the extra trains.
I think the class 700/1 would be included in a London commuter remake!! I really enjoy the class 700/0 on SEHS would also love to see It extended to London bridge!!
I wouldn't mind that but I think the Southeastern main line might be better as that part would have Charing Cross,Cannon Street. London Bridge,Everthing going to Orpington,Sevenoaks,Hayes, Dartford,Tonbridge,Hastings, Ashsford international. I think the southeastern mainline might be even busier than the BML. But before we get any of this I think we need an AC route for the 700 and 700/1 Actually I just made a suggestion for the SEML here's the link to the thread https://forums.dovetailgames.com/threads/southeastern-main-line-chatham-main-line.71731/
Well it goes off the map to make station stops, so no. It would be pointless to make those services playable.
Playing through some scenarios on creators club, using the 700 on BML. I'm having more fun on them runs than on sehs
Also applying power should be instant as soon as you use the PBC as they are very responsive trains, that is why you hear a little bit of the motor sound before the train starts moving and the brakes are still on. The same applies for running in AC.
All of southern England runs on DC 3rd rail besides HS1 so there’s nothing that can be done unless you use scenario planner
Can we get over it, it’s nothing they haven’t mentioned before release and up to you if you want to buy it knowing it has its faults. Why would they go on about something they have mentioned already. Yes, there are now 10 pages of feedback, moans and groans but I think it’s fair to say most of it is VERY repetitive. If you don’t like it that much, simply don’t buy the product. Talk by actions and not words. A lot of us enjoy the product regardless of its faults. All entitled to your opinion but it’s a little boring now.
Well the streams that were available including the review by DadRail didn't exactly showcase the sounds. Anyhow the point being, overall it's not a bad train model, just needs the points raised sorting out.
The sounds were pointed out in the DTG preview stream. There, they explained why they couldn’t get recordings and couldn’t use 3rd party for whatever reason. People still bought the game knowing these issues. They sold the game not hiding any of it. Now, people have bought the game, “highlighting” issues that DTG already highlighted in the preview stream. Stopping markers, sounds and not having the 700 on BML were all crystal clear before release and no pre-orders, at least on console. Tell them something they haven’t already mentioned and you might get a response, otherwise they can only repeat themselves again and again. Same tripe from the same people on these forums these days. Was great to see the positivity from most when the 700 was released. The negativity is the minority on this one.
You are getting the wrong end of the stick... I couldn't care less if they sourced the sounds from an electric car. The mix is poor and the sound level too low. that's the issue people are (justifiably) complaining about and DTG are ignoring...
The drumbeat of apologism is equally tedious, but I read it anyway. Dismissing valid and constructive criticism as " tripe " is rather shallow, I think.
Absolutely agree - considering the popularity with the amount of CC scenarios for the 700 with London Commuter already etc surely means that DTG know how much a lot of the community would really want to see this in normal timetable mode and, that while optimisation and an enhanced timetable for more services may be a complex task understandably, it would be worth the effort thanks to the demand. Again, I still don't understand how SEHS can have so many different locos and have a 700 in the timetable, while London Commuter can't, because yet I thought it wasn't the amount of services was the issue? On the subject of dual timetables, if a 700/1 ever came, what would other's opinions be of say if PC/Gen 9 had a full London Commuter timetable featuring all TL services with both the /0 and /1, while Gen 8 would still get some TL services, but only those with the /0?
Morning, folks. Quick update our end. We're working on getting the timetable changes launched on console this week No plans to implement a timetable on BML, for reasons we've stated before and have been mentioned many times on this thread. Additional timetables take a lot of extra work, so even offering an optional additional timetable is a large undertaking on such a busy route. We've fed back your audio feedback to the team
Could a DTG scenario pack for BML be a decent compromise?, dare I say even make it paid DLC?, while I understand that a timetable mode timetable takes a lot of work, I'm sure a pack of scenarios could be a bit of an all round win-win situation?
A few things that are missing from the realism: traction motor whistling noise in the cab when braking and accelerating, Fault Acknowledge button in the footwell when keying on the cab, and the brake steps releasing are very quiet.
I’m just gonna do a quick summary of all the issues i think we’re all aware off, so it’s easier for a member of the dtg team to find. Please reply to this with anything i may have missed so it’s all in one post. Very quiet traction motor sound in cab, particularly in AC mode Very quiet AC motors in general Interior sounds are also too quiet No DSD/DVD self test sequence when setting up (when it’s not isolated) Incorrect texturing of DRA and power switches, although the switches aren’t as bad. (see below comparison) In second TMS screen, when put into emergency the bar shoots up over the limit When clicking into e-brake through the power/brake handle the beeping noise should be a second or 2 after clicking it in, rather than being when you release it HMI missing clock above speedo HMI not entirely accurate to real life one in terms of icons, see comparison below Brake stuttering/hissing is way too quiet, it’s very obnoxious in real life No high pitched ‘buzz’ when train is put into forward or reverse Extremely quiet high pitched hum/buzz in interior, though it is slightly audible in second coach only, when should he heard in front and rear coaches too No rain/snow landing on windscreen when stopped/below 10mph Slightly ‘stiff’ combined power brake control as in reality it is very smooth/loose feeling Door opening sound only has 3 ‘beeps’ when in reality there is 5 As said earlier, please note below anything i may have missed and hopefully the majority if not all these issues can be sorted at one point or another.
I'm pretty impressed with it, apart from the fact that you can only drive less than a third of the average length of driving duties on Thameslink. Can't wait to give it a proper run on a full route under the wires.
I was the one who actually asked the question in the q&a thread about the sounds the train. Frankly they did not answer the question. They didn't explain the "technical reasons" so it felt like they just they didn't want to explain the reason why on the stream at least I frankly don't even understand the hype of this train anyways. It's a commuter train with uncomfortable seats and a open gangway which isn't exactly new in this world
With the sound mod installed and running a CC scenario on BML, it's not actually that bad a train to drive. Thrashing it up to 90 MPH between stops on the Brighton Line is how it should have been presented especially with that magnificent view out the front compared to the Electrostar. Not doing that bloody all stations stop/start bus service on SEHS. Yes there would have been problems integrating a token Thameslink service (even one an hour in each diection???) onto the BML timetable where it seemed like gaps had been left anyway but it would have been a worthwhile exercise and a far better presentation than what we got. Well, who knows maybe it's BML that's getting the extension/overhaul treatment this year for the big summer release and the real reason the 700 didn't get an outing was not to pre-empt what might be coming. There's an old saying, don't tell me problems, give me solutions and that's what was needed here!
As expected, some kind modder has made a mod that lets me run the 700 as a sub for the 377 on BML. Not super realistic in stopping patterns, but at least from East Croydon this is actually where the 700 runs, and we get to stretch its legs a bit, as well as keeping the busy timetable up and running. EDIT: It's amazing how much of the BML scenery we've been missing with the tiny Electrostar windows!
I think the 700 has been the big missing piece for the BML which always fell south of East Croydon had a large part of is services missing from day one. Once initialy announced is was assumed that the BML would finally be complete. As stated during the release streams for the BML that gaps were left in the timetable for when if ever the Thameslink license and 700 were made available the could be put in. Back then it was never mentioned that memory was an issue. And yes they did tell us early on that it wasn't going to be on the BML. Well what I say to that is they also told us "that the are no plans to redo the NYT timetable"
Vern as much as I want the 700 om the BML, wouldn't want it to be at the cost of an AC route for the 700. But come to think of it, Why can't we get both?
For the PS5: -No exterior PIS on user controlled 700 services -Headlights off on AI 700 services -Windshield wipers don’t wipe off the precipitation on the windows
My thoughts were maybe East Croydon extended up through London Bridge and Blackfriars to Luton, Bedford probably asking too much but still what a route that would be. Would still be great if we got Bedford to London but then we have two lines with a through service seperated by only 9 miles and still no 700's on the BML bit.
Thanks to a creators club scenario I got to drive the 700 under the wires to Reading on GWR. From Ealing Broadway I think. Even though the wires ran out long before Reading, the pantograph stayed up and AC power continued. It’s so much quicker on AC than DC. I thoroughly enjoyed the drive. DTG MUST have more in store for this EMU than SEHS - that route doesn’t begin to allow it to stretch its legs.
If we get that then it would be a dream come true. I actually play that same route on Danny's workshop route on TSC. One of the best next to Niklas SEML free route.
I feel that the 700 is a success. But I would like one day for it to be ported to the BML in the 12 car version, that would be the icing on the cake.
Are you sure? There's only three from what I've heard. You might be confusing the 700 for the 717. I've just watch some videos and the 700 and 707 only have 3 chimes.
trust me ik for definite they have 5 chimes. i actually went down to my local station and recorded the door sounds as i knew for a fact i wasn’t confused, and yes it had 5 chimes. I would show the video but it’s hard to do on here.
To be honest from my personal experience with the 700's, I think it's both, I've heard them chime 3 times and 5 times, weird I know.
i’ve never heard just 3 chimes tbh, and i’ve been on these trains countless times Edit: wow then, after searching it up on youtube all i can find is 3 chimes, which is really peculiar to me. Does anyone know why it’s not always 3/5?
View attachment 122826 I was driving the Class 700 on the Birmingham Cross City route when all of a sudden the train went into emergency. There was a audible warning that said "Overspeed Contact the signaler" and a message on the ETCS screen shown in the image. I could not for the life of me figure out how to recover from this. I had to restart the run.
Here’s the manual, hope this may help. Page 14 deals with emergency braking etc. https://storage.googleapis.com/media-dtl-storage/manuals/TSW3 Class 700 Manual V1.0 ENG.pdf
I'm not sure if there is a bug with TPWS overspeed though - I tested it (might or might not have been deliberate). Even after TPWS acknowledgement and pressing BR the woman kept shouting at me ad infinitum. I was able to continue, but had to turn the game sound down.
It’s a fine addition to SEHS, but it could really use its own route. There’s so many options. DTG take your pick.
That was my experience as well. I got the brakes released and was able to continue, but the “Contact the Signaller” audio did not stop.
