Something I think they need to do is start adding new stuff to future stuff so the C323 you can isolate so it can't apply power or take power. Even though the C700 came out after it's like they've thought nope no one will want to isolate the power etc. Understandable yeah there might be full on procedure to follow but the feature it self just makes the game more interesting. I would even be happy to spend my free time to add it onto the C700 as I know UE 4 and 5 and Blueprint scripting along with some C++ knowledge but the C++ is nothing fancy.
Notice when AI is driving the speedometer remains reading zero at times. Doesn’t change even when moving
That has been the case for a while from what I’ve seen. Might have something to do with Simugraph physics not being applied to AI vehicles. Even the throttle and brake handles don’t move lol.
Yeah, so AI are moved along the track rather then physics moving them etc. I think when there in range they have some sort of physics but it's basic and when there not in range they'll be no physics at all. All about optimising where possible else you'll get cpu usage bogged down etc
Imagine the processor load if cycles have to be devoted to checking the gauge and control positions in every AI train running on the route
I don’t mind at all. I think it’s a very wise decision on Dovetail’s end as it definitely eases load on CPU. But IMO it would be very cool to see in game. It’d make it just a bit more realistic.
Is anyone else having issues with the destination board on the train? I can’t seem to get it to work on timetable services. Just blank. But if I spawn on foot and grab a train the AI already set up it works. Sorry if this has been mentioned, I just got the DLC. This is on PS5.
I’ve tried taking over a service after spawning on foot and the destination boards only work when the station terminus is on the route itself. i.e. Dartford, Rainham, etc. Edit: format
Yeah so far for me I can’t get any external destinations to show up at all. Interesting to note this only affects PS5. Destinations work fine on Xbox version. Also PS5 only bugs: windshield wipers don’t clear rain, AI 700s don’t turn on their headlights (and I think passenger lights but I’ll need to double check that). I reported them as tickets so hopefully they get fixed (always a crap shoot if and when things get fixed with DTG but it seems like the best hope is usually close to release).
At this point I can only hope for the most likely outcome, where DTG fixes this and releases the fix for TSW4 only, that's the only way we'd get AI lights functioning and the player's destination boards working. It's so incredibly far from ideal, but something's better than nothing with how long ago this train released (a whole month and a half ago, woah). At least there's hope that we at least get a fix that way, since surely DTG will want the Class 700 in a decent condition for it to appear as a layer on the ECML route.
Who knew the brand new and long awaited 700 was just going to be a pawn for the next big UK route for us to just watch as AI. Now it makes sense why they sold it so cheap
I dont even think its that accurate either, i heard they only operate 12 car trains to peterborough rather than the 8 car which we have
You have to press the CSS button on the touch screen to make her shut up. Thought it was a glitch too until it happened again just now and I figured it out lol.
This would usually be done from the screen where you activate the haul mode. There the traction isolation can be set up individually. Dtg made a really basic implementation which is far away from the real unit, the haul mode isnt even do anything. You can haul the 700 with the ROG class 37 and dellner adapter. This is ductape but its possible (you have to find a way to hold the parking brake off which is usually done by connecting the rescue pipe. The 700 is nice for driving, but rather basic. Also battery off isnt working for all connected units irl, you would need to shut down each individually. Post Edit (Thats just the HMI Section how it would look on the RL Train, seriously this is in deepth technical stuff which probably is interesting for 0.2% of TSWs community and confusing for 99.8%, especially newcomers):
Do you know after all the routes gets release today for TSW4 the 700 would be used more as an AI train than what’s available in playable services. Go figure.
You gave us the loco, now give us another route to use it on. There’s only so many runs a guy can do from Dartford to Faversham One of my favourite locos in the game btw.
Quite a few trains are like that, because IRL there are a lot more routes than in game & DTG are giving us decent AI layers.
Apologies for the bump, but a question for PS5 players on TSW4: could you take a look at any AI-operated Class 700 service (either ECML or SEHS is fine) and see if they were updated to actually use the headlights, tail lights, and passenger lights?
Hello folks i hope that this message can reach the person that does the Class 700/0 Mod i am a huge fan of the last update but sad to say it needs a update so we can all enjoy the mod for TSW4 Era its been over 2 weeks out and still no update what is the deal ItsYa165 if u see this please update the mod so we can enjoy the class 700 again
I think it needs to be activated when being pulled by a loco so the controls/brakes do not interfere. (Like MU setup on US locos)
I'm just coupling the 700 to the ROG Class 37, which has the appropriate Dellner coupling. I haven't figured out how the brakes work, it seems they do not release on the 700 no matter how I try. Works with the 375 though. Also the 700 has no "Uncoupling" button, it's not clickable in the display.
So I don't think hauling mode have been implemented and working. Also, on the screen there is the decoupling thing I believe
Picked up the 700 DLC yesterday as it is half priced in the current Black Friday sale on PlayStation. So far I quite like this train. Only complaint I have are some strange noises. On some drives I got these rather annoying noises starting at about 35 mph and growing louder the quicker I went. They are in the bass-range, very low in tone and very annoying. Couldn’t work out what they were at first, but I think I found out what they are. I’m pretty convinced it’s the sound of raindrops hitting the big windshield. I can understand that DTG needed a different sound for the raindrops because this train has a much bigger windshield than other British trains, but I think what they put in is not realistic at all. I find it very annoying. I hope that my remaining scenarios with the 700 are in the dry and will not choose rainy weather in service mode. Hopefully DTG will replace these sounds with something more realistic in a future update.
Oooh wait so you’re on PlayStation, I have to know: Does the destination display function on the Class 700 that you’re driving? Also, do the Class 700s driven by AI have their headlights on?
Press X on the coupler in the external view. Press and hold X and the slide up or down to lower or raise it. Pressing X on the coupler in external view to uncouple. Or you can walk down to it to be more interactive if you want.
Thank you, that’s really helpful. I didn’t realise there were any diesel locos with dellners in TSW tbh before. I have both the class 45 and class 47, and I don’t think it can be done with either of them? Does anyone know please? If it can’t be done, sounds like the 37 would be a good purchase
ok, this thread is like super long, so sorry if I am asking a question thats already been asked... just got 700, great train, nice runs on the service, but I noticed sth - other UK trains are kinda benevolent/lax with those AWS warnings... you acknowledge them, and then just brake as you will... in this one I used my usual lax approach when driving UK trains, and I got multiple SPADs... even though I WAS going to make the stop in time and I acknowledged stuff... is there like a certain speed after single yellow, before red, after getting AWS warning... or some braking curve... or basically what I have to do in order to meet the criteria of not getting an AWS SPAD? no other UK train has been doing this, only this one, so I assume it has more strict AWS stuff going on? any tips, advice, explanation, dont be afraid to go into details here, cos I havent found a real solution anywhere and I just want to drive nice, without SPADs (but with systems turned on, cos I like the challenge) thanks for any replies ))
You may be tripping TPWS OSS (overspeed sensors) if you’re going over them too fast you’ll get a brake demand and when approaching a red signal you shouldn’t be doing more 20mph when you pass over the magnet.
oh ok, cos other UK locos/trains just beeped when AWS triggered and then nothing... I guess this one's AWS is more advanced then... and I didnt even differentiate between different sensors/ballises or what before, since those just elicited more beeps, but never SPADs... ok, I guess I just need more practice with this machine... thanks guys, if there is anything more to it, bring it on, if not, thanks again
It's something to do with the train being newer, I believe. Most trains currently on the network are nearly around 20 or more years old
I should also add any other alarms you hear in the cab may be the DVD (Driver vigilance device) if you fail to acknowledge this you will also get a brake demand) and on certain trains the driver safety device with sound when you stand up (class 465, 700, 323 for example) irl drivers you put the reverser in neutral when stopped, you should do this as well. TPWS OSS aren’t functional on all routes but it’s good practice to act like they are. The exception to this info would be older routes like Blackpool branches, NTP and TVL which may have neither TPWS, AWS or other safety features.
After a long while of putting off driving this train I must say its extremely annoying to drive on DC. The sounds looping over an over above 30 mph with the quiet running sounds is driving me up the wall. The model is superb its just the DC motor sounds that lack aswell as the running sounds
As a frequent commuter who uses this train on a daily basis, I can say the sounds are accurate. Not 100% as they’re using another locos sounds. Class 350 Desiro. (Thanks for confirming that Jack). The two locos are almost identical. I personally think the DC sounds are unique and it’s one of my favourite locos to drive in the game.
