FYI There are 8 x 612 runs in Journey Mode, then the 143 opens up.

    And then the 766... :(
Still, I see what is meant by the night, or well twilight, being better:-
    Chemnight.jpg
Still don't quite get the city ambient glow or the carpet of thousands of lights effects, but it is better.

That or reduce the train length to a level the one motor would be able to manage in those conditions.

Maybe not, But I think so. But in TSW2 sanding is not working (do not do more friction) and as it is done in real world

Just found a video that explains the route from Freiberg to Dresden, with its surroundings and places. Unfortunately only in German - and the automatic youtube translation (subtitles) is pretty horrible. If you still want to watch it, here is the link:
(by the way, you can also see that DTG has done a good job)

I have seen that the latest version of dostos has functional PIS included. I didn't remember reading about this so I was surprised. f2bcfd5b-2a92-4694-9f45-19da80f7684e.jpeg 1295b1ce-cb37-42bd-958d-537cadff2d8e.jpeg 0a34922e-c4cf-456c-9b05-46a7a7d4b547.jpeg bced082f-c1e9-4a16-ba3e-2400cd85a671.jpeg

It is activated automatically, you don't have to do anything. It only works in the carriage with cab.

yes, the working PIS in the cab car is new, but it is bugged. Looks nice, I hope they can fix it.

Before logging it as a bug, has anyone had issues getting the 766 cab car to power after reloading a saved game? (Not one of the usual save game bugs). Was moving at around 80 km/h but no response to throttle. Stopped the train and cycled everything on and off (SIFA and PZB/Indusi not activated as it's a night run). Still unable to get power.

    Any thoughts?

I read in another thread someone having an issue with the pantograph having lowered itself after a save game, so might be worth checking that.

First thing I tried was cycling the pantograph down and up a couple of times, MCB off and on etc.

It's a PITA as the scenario is in Journey Mode which means I can't advance further if I can't finish it. Unfortunately quite a long one to do in a single sitting, it's the scenario where you have to follow a slow running freight up the Ramp, then continue semi fast to Chemnitz.

I wonder if the game will let me drive from the 143, effectively propelling the train?

If you expierence a bug and your question contains the words "saved game", you have found your problem.

Yes I know, but generally that only affects the signalling and AI train movement, not the traction itself.

Have you tried pressing the SIFA acknowledge button?, as that releases the traction lock bug on the cab cars in other routes (even if SIFA isn’t activated).

Oh, it certainly can! For a long time, restoring a save in MSB disabled the Sifa Acknowledge button (both Q and in-cab)- leading to gigantic frustration. And, rather notoriously, any service or scenario which required a direction/cab changeover couldn't be saved, because restoring the game would reset the first cab to its game-start state (i.e. making it impossible to drive from the other end)

Oh, the save issues do affect things other than signals and AI trains. In CR the F7's lights are off when you reload even though the switch is on, cycling does correct this.

Does standing up and sitting back down not fix that?

I came across a save issue in DCZ. After a save, when I try to take over a 612 service, I can rev the engine, but not move. This persisted despite some extensive troubleshooting involving parking brakes, the reverser, restarting engines etc …

It is not traction locked though as the throttle position is shown white, even the notch number appears just not applying any power or Kn registering on the HUD.

It may be a random save bug that can’t be fixed then. Probably best to report it and just try again from the start.

I did a a scenario run and went into the passenger cab, but saw nothing, i also went to another car and also saw nothing. I even try starting my engine and still see no PIS inside passenger car. Does this have to do with it only working in Timetable mode? Why is it not showing up? :|

Well first I'll see if I can shut down the cab car and drive from the loco on the back. Unconventional but may salvage the scenario.

Found this bit of road today. I wondered what it was when I first saw it until I tracked it along to this junction, interesting join too.

That must have been the section Rivet Road Construction Inc. subcontracted on...

Anyhow good news, I was able to retrieve the banjaxed scenario with the 766 by driving the rest of the way from the loco on the back.

Note to DTG, please - no more routes with these tedious, boring and temperamental cab cars.

Ayo, that’s amazing! I didn’t know about this at all, maybe an unintentional release of an unfinished feature? It does look quite complete though to be honest. Seems to use tech from the IC wagon screens.

Yes, as far as I have been able to ascertain, it seems to be somewhat unfinished because the information that appears is often incorrect. But I like the way it looks, hopefully it will be polished soon and I really appreciate all these little details.

I just tested it in the scenario where you have to drive the dostos and it worked.

Cab cars aren’t inherently bad. In fact, I really enjoy the unique layout and location of the cabin in between the two floors of the DoSto wagons.
The specific problem with the DoSto cab car we have in the game is that it has been used on countless of routes over the past few years without ever really receiving any significant changes. We desperately need a new cab car + DoSto wagons, like the IC2 or Kiss (yes, it’s really named like that).

How about something other than DoStos? Some n-Wagen (Silberlinge) with a Karlsruher-Kopf cab car would be a welcome change of pace :D

I would love more scope to run the 101 without having to scenario build. It really needs a route to stretch its legs. It’s like buying a Lamborghini to never do more than 60mph

    Hi there,

Does anyone else have as many red signals at the beginning of different service runs all over the timetable?
There seem to be no trains in the path, so I don‘t know what is going on.

By the way, it has also nothing to do with savegame, as it also occured on newly selected timetables after starting up the sim.

Can you provide an example service?
Some freight runs start with 3-4 minutes at a red light as a passenger service passes you, but so far I haven't had any red light problems.

    Maybe I wasn‘t patient enough. ;)

I just re-tried a service and the signal turned green after some minutes.
I wasn‘t used to this, hence my question if it was a bug.

The service I just did again was the S3 12:32 service Tharandt-Dresden and the red signal occured right at the start.

Just a question with the 612. Do they really screech that much. It seems like you're constantly screeching when you drive. I appreciate it leans but even low speed, it just seems overdone?

    Am I misunderstanding rail squeal?

It is way overdone, I've been on these trains for years and I can't remember them being so noisy. The engines are very noisy, and they sound amazing in TSW as well, but the loud squeal in every curve is too much unfortunately :(

The flange squeal on 612 could be brought down a notch or two, but those engines really were loud even in the real train.

The 612 is fantastic. I was running a service and the tilt starts at 120 kms in a curve and I almost threw up because I was not expecting that tilt on screen. Really love the tilt, very well done.

I've seen substitution mods around, given you are playing on PC

    https://www.trainsimcommunity.com/m...-patches/i2043-al-dtg-db-br-612-mini-mod-pack

    • "TS2Prototype-AL_RH_DB612_DCZ.pak": On all RE3 services, all BR 143 trains are replaced by BR 612s. (Recommended mod combination: !NoLabelFSE, BLB, DCZ)
    • "TS2Prototype-AL_RH_DB612_RSN.pak": On the RB56 (Hagen - Iserlohn), all BR 143 trains are replaced by the BR 612. (Recommended mod combination: !NoKinderspielecke, RSN)

I found a really nice video filmed in October for Dresden, Chemnitz. There’s some interesting shots of line side assets too. I’m guessing this route will get a steam loco at some point so thought I’d share as reference

It is a great route for some steam/heritage action as it has two significant railroad museums on it, both modelled in-game.
