The Furness Line is a railway line between Barrow in Furness and Lancaster, the start of the route runs along the WCML. It serves various towns along the Furness coast, including Barrow in Furness, Ulverston and Grange over Sands. ROUTE LENGTH: 28 MILES ROLLING STOCK: BR CLASS 108 DMU Being seen on the Upcoming Carlisle to Whitehaven route, The British Rail Class 108 DMUs were built by BR Derby from 1958 to 1961, with a final production quantity of 333 vehicles. BR CLASS 101 DMU Seen on WCML: OS and Tees Valley Line, this loco does services alongside the Class 108, this time, in the Reigional Railways livery, and the classic BR Blue Livery. STATIONS: LANCASTER CARNFORTH SILVERDALE ARNSIDE GRANGE-OVER-SANDS KENTS BANK CARK AND CARTMEL ULVERSTON DALTON ROOSE AND BARROW IN FURNESS SPAWNABLE LOCATIONS: Siddick Junction (Workington): Served the extensive coal, steel, and industrial, network of the Cumbrian Coast, including connections to the former Moss Bay steelworks. Barrow-in-Furness Salthouse Jn: Crucial sidings for freight, including traffic for the Barrow steelworks and nuclear traffic to the BAE site. Arnside Viaduct: a 505-meter-long railway bridge that carries the Furness Line over the River Kent estuary near Morecambe Bay Leven Viaduct: a railway bridge which carries the Line over the River Leven. The viaduct was opened as a single track structure as part of the Ulverstone and Lancaster Railway back in August 1857.
