Exciting news everyone! Union Pacific Railroad's Big Boy #4014 has made it's first moves under its own power for the first time in almost 60 years, making it the largest operating steam locomotive in the world! It's set to double-head with 4-8-4 #844 to Ogden Utah, this weekend to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the transcontinental railroad. These are very exciting times in the world of steam preservation everyone! I can't wait to see what other excursions UP has in store for the locomotive. The video attached is not mine, but is the best quality video of it running so far.
