An alle Eisenbahnamateure, ein herzlich willkommen! Welcome to my last suggestion before summer break! And yes, it will be another German route: the Moselstrecke, from Koblenz to Trier. Part of the former German Empire's "Kanonenbahn", it winds through the Rheinland-Pfalz, southwest of the country; right next to the Luxembourg border. Would be set in late 2025. Our journey starts from an old acquaintance of ours, Koblenz, winding along the left Mosel River bank and through its stunning wine region valley; crossing several iconic structures, such as the Kaiser-Wilhelm Tunnels and the Bullay/Pünderich Viaducts. Then, it shifts through the vast "Wittlicher Senke", following the southern "Eifel" edge to destination: the ancient Trier. Famous for its landscapes, castles/fortresses and its strong agro/wine vocation, this route offers many local, regio and international passenger options, including a significant freight traffic volume! Whether you love operating ultra-modern passenger units or taking advantage of this loco-hauled primary freight corridor, here you'll find everything to keep you busy for a while! INTEGRATION Good evening everyone! Today I wanted to expand my proposal, focusing on a few more points that weren't covered at first. Let's go! 1 - Points of interest) A) DB Museum, located in Koblenz-Lützel; not to be missed! B) Marienburg, Moselle River bend; between Pünderich and Bullay. C) Bahnhof Ehrang, closed in March 2025; replaced by newly built stop. D) Trier-Ehrang Water Tower, inside freight complex; iconic Jugendstil(Art Nouveau) landmark(1870). 2 - Signalboxes) The "Stellwerke"(signalboxes) mark a significant presence in the local rail scene. Two examples: Trier Hbf(left), Bullay DB(right). 3 - River operations) Transport via the Moselle River is vibrant and intense. It relies on large "Lastkähne"(barges), which act as an integral "mobile" part of the visual experience here. Their presence in this add-on would be vital! 4 - Earlier eras) The 80s-00s were the true "golden age" of this route. The real rockstar was the Br 181 back then . I would certainly be open to different eras for this project, that's for sure . 5 - Route Mastery) My mastery idea would be the "Monorackbahn", monorails used for move grapes/material along the steepy vineyards. Here's an example(Kobern-Gondorf). Hope you enjoyed these additional infos! Have a great night guys! Caravatt .
