simple question, what’s going on with QA? the list of bugs is fast outpacing the rate at which they are getting resolved, and by the sound of things there’s stuff from 6+ months ago that’s still stuck there waiting. and when those bug fixes do come out, the update usually breaks something else and the cycle restarts again. of course the increase in third parties puts more strain on QA, but has the team not grown/gotten smaller, is the prioritisation of certain things being done incorrectly, why is it such a mess? even if no more issues were added to the list, at this rate i suspect it’d take 1, maybe even 2 years to clear the list
There's stuff from years ago that have never been fixed, like the G6 run(s) that can't be completed and are part of the Journey mode. And that's before getting to general QOL stuff like the rancid (non existent) sounds of the 1442 from Rapid Transit or the wrong sound levels for the Class 700. At this stage most of it never will be which is why going forward we all need to start applying a bit of caveat emptor to whatever DTG put out for TSW, in house or 3P.
It's amazing how some stuff gets stuck in QA for ages but then other stuff comes out looking like it hadn't been QA'd at all
Even back in TSW2020 and TSW2 days we had similar issues. As the game has matured it has introduced more features and more DLC. Each feature and DLC has created more bugs, unfortunately DTG have always played catch-up with bugs and some might say that there are so many now that DTG have become overwhelmed. Maybe a good option would be to contract someone like Skyhook to work systematically through a number of bugs to bring about a (faster) positive move forwards. Some might say Adam at Skyhook would be a decent person to get involved in this given his skillset and previous tenure at DTG. Maybe we could have a Bugs Roadmap, not as a livestream but text every month with a list of "hoping to release a fix 1-3 months" and a secondary list of "on the list to fix 3-6months" ?
it wasn’t great but i don’t remember it being this bad. updates weren’t as destructive and the backlog wasn’t this big
