This one is from breblimator !

I messaged him trying to talk him into starting a thread where TSW2 Community members could post challenging runs under specific conditions and people could reply with comments and attempts. He liked the idea, but asked that I start the thread. So, here we go:

It starts with Breblimator's BR 101 Dangerous Rails challenge which was awesome and quite an immersive run. See the link here:
    https://forums.dovetailgames.com/threads/br-101-dangerous-rails.39967/

Give us your most challenging run. Please be specific with the details so we can all try it under the same conditions. We need route, service, loco, weather, HUD or HUDless, and safety systems specified.

And, we will see how well - or not so well - we do!

    JustWentSouth, my savior :)

There can only be one master, and it cannot be me. I am looking somewhere in the southern USA and saluting o7

I will just add that someone already suggested it today - we can combine this competition with the activities of DTG.
Probably all of us, at Sunday lunch, watched merry movies about prisoners playing football with guards more than once or twice... ;)

We are waiting for the first daredevil to propose a challenge. The show must go on \o/

Can’t beat Beagle Point, it’s the top spot. At least twice a year for me. Did Horizons ever come out? Mind, the free Farnhams Legend from Ego is tempting me at present.

Yeah, this type of narrative is very S-F'ish. I confess :)

I hope there will be an interesting offer in a moment because I have a real nightmare in store for masochists.
They're hell hotter than this, my friend!

I think this belongs here more than the interesting scenario thread

DB86110 - Using PZB and SiFA, in low adhesion conditions (snow, rain), BR155 recommended. This will probabily only work until the MSB update

Okay. I'll do it right away... tomorrow :) I propose the following conditions: the full score is mandatory (preventing overspeeding - it is easy to determine what the full score is). No HUD (F1); best time win. Tomorrow I will present my ride if I have enough time.
I give 24 hours to beat my result or I declare myself the king of TSW, for life!

I tried to slink onto the throne yesterday in hopes I could stay a little while until the rightful king came and made me leave. However, I couldn't get up the hill! I stalled in both the 155 and later, the 182 which I realize now does not have prayer of making it up that hill in snow.

This is really hard! So, I am headed back for a little advice on 155 handling by Dmitri and Matt:

The sword is still firmly stuck in the stone. Who is going to pull it out?

Let's determine the weather conditions that should be selected because I did it yesterday and even recorded it (for the first time in my life I used OBS on such a scale). Unfortunately. After playing the material, it turned out to be maybe 2 fps ... for 10 seconds :D Small teaser - result in the rain, I assumed the speed limit for loaded cars (100 kph):

PS I go winter blizzard in a minute \o/

I finally did pull this off, but it wasn't legit. I turned off SIFA; between PZB, the throttle, the traction force selector, and the sand, I ran out of fingers to push buttons. Is there any way to toggle the sand on rather than have to hold the button?

I also ran with the HUD. I needed it to pick up wheelslip earlier than I could with just the cab view. Still, this was a challenging run. Going up the hill, I had to keep the force under 240kn or I would slip. And I had to be patient with the speed:

"Why yes. I was doing under 7kph. Thank youverymuch, officer."

Did it with PZB Mode U and a max speed of 100kph. Here is the summary of my pretender to the throne attempt:

I really enjoyed this. I had forgotten how much fun the 155 could be. And MSB looks great in the snow; I love the wet platforms.

Cool thing. This is not easy. In the end, I was able to record. I'm not very good at this (OBS Studio). My PC is probably even worse. The video quality is terrifying, and yet it weighs over 7 GB (low CPU for-compression-profile). If you need proof or someone would like to watch 'king of the hill' in action - I'll put it on a google drive. Jokes aside. The result is shown in the screenshot below. It will not be difficult to beat it - I gave myself one forced stop, but in line with the regulations maybe - I braked too much after passing the 'expect slow', 2 km before the finish line. A very good run, FD! The MSB shines here. Napoleon had his Waterloo; USA - Sand Patch Grade and Germany, Spessart Ramp. Huh. That was really fun \o/ BR and GL. 24 hours to beat my result :D

PS I was driving below 100 kph - wagons.

Or I declare myself the self-proclaimed King of The Hill and present the next challenge for you girls :D

    The MSB 19K
    A westbound race to Heigenbrucken.

Run Service 88124 out of Gemunden at 14:39 with the DB 155. Chose PZB Mode U and drive without any HUD information - F1. No speed limit violations. No speed over 100 kph. Pick any weather conditions you would like.

The challenge is to see how fast you can deal with the traffic and make it up the hill to the mouth of the tunnel at Heigenbrucken. Once your cab is in the tunnel, capture the screen inside the tunnel and post your time. Quickest time to the tunnel wins.

Here is my entry. I made it to the tunnel at 15:31:41.

Here is my speed chart (before I learned how to take an in game screenshot using the windows key + G to get to the gaming menu):
    MSB Hill Challenge 2.jpg

It is a great run and was originally recommended by atpyatt . It's even better without the HUD. I am becoming a convert!

Forgive me, JustWentSouth, but your contest was too easy. That's why no one came forward.
I feel, this time it will be similar... :D Me? Nah

------------------------------------------------ The Wrong DoSto Marathon ------------------------------------------------

    I. The Rules.

    1. Play all five services from the "Dog Weather" chapter of the HHL Journey. Do not play the scenario.
    2. Play your way. Go with HUD if you want... to be ashamed :D But don't mention it!
    3. Make DEBRIEFING screenshots (5x).
    4. Sum your score. Best results win the competition.
    5. In the case of the same number of points, the total time is decisive. Faster is better.
    6. The qualification will run until next Thursday, midnight UTC.

    II. The big final.

    1. There can be only one.
    2. The qualification winner, called The Chosen Two, meets DTG Natster in the final Competition!
    3. Natalie doesn't know yet that she's involved, but... did THEY ask us about the diameter of the BR 112 headlights? Exactly :D
    4. The winner may be awarded a symbolic prize. There was an award recently, but no one wanted it.
// And these are supposedly hard times... Maybe it will, maybe not :D
    5. Natalka already has it, she won't get it, even if she wins << such a little joke :)
    6. THE Competition little teaser: night switching, zero HUD conditions :o - race against time and bugs \o/

    GL & HF \o/
