Hey sorry I’m behind again, been busy with a little something and the cat. It’s of he’s head lol.

Anyway I’m absolutely amazed on how well these look now. Massive difference from the ones I last commented on.
Im definitely surprised by the work you have done. Tbh with you I wasn’t sure if you would continue with all that’s being going on, so yes man you’ve definitely been hard at behind the scenes.

Keep the fantastic work up because as I mentioned earlier about seeing how this turns out well I do mean it mate.
    Looks great it really does:)

I I what’s this. I’m a little unfamiliar with many different TOCS or is this a fictional piece of work?.
Looks clean and as Jplays says maybe try tidying the front end up.
And for the colour yellow then I’ve noticed that the yellow is far more paler than a deep rich colour.
I’ve been picking it up in my own work so from the photo then I’d say the yellow work to be fair.

If there anything I could help you with just give us a shout:)

Took me from last night to now with a few hours sleep in between to get this done.
I never knew how hypo a Cat could get lol.

So yes I thought I’d finally dip my toe into making a fun fictional Military reskin now the new Military pack is out.
    Do I Buy???.

WIP but not a lot to do before it’s completed.

66 141 “In the Army Now” HOOKHAUL MILITRA. fictitious work.
    IMG_4614.jpeg IMG_4615.jpeg IMG_4616.jpeg

Wanted a playful theme with some real world elements. So messed around with safety labels and logo.
Just a bit of fun really.

Sort of. By the looks of it, it's based off of the First Capital Connect Livery that Thameslink used on some of it's rolling stock. However the 378s have only been used on London Overground so the livery has just been adjusted to fit the body of the train (similar to what I did with my 22x liveries for the 801)

Very nice. I don't have the pack, but I bet this livery works well with the pack

I follow you know so something like this, as I’m messing around with a 385 for Thameside or have I got it all wrong.
I’m not good on my areas or operations you see.

Thanks I’ve wanted to do one. Even this which has been sat for two years now.

Based of a SR 71 Blackbird. So I’m quite interested in the pack but not sure after most things I’ve bought recently have been a bit of a let down. I’ll see if it’s worth it.

Pretty much yeah. I mean you sort of compromise with the angles and components of the train and then adjust what you were going for to fit in with the bodyshell

I have been noticing that the rake angle is nearly the same on these modern classes. It could be a design feature that must be regulated for a standard design for UK units. Ie gage or route accessibility so on a swing out on a curve the body don’t hit platforms or bridges etc.
So yes your right I am make some compromises where needed yet that rake angle at the rear seems to remain the same.

A 158 with the 385 for comparison. Actually the rake is different here. And that’s working of the body shell.
IMG_4306.jpeg IMG_4558.jpeg It’s more of an astute angle on the 158.

hey guys how are you doing here?
first time trying a UK unit, it is a european livery and unfortunately I was forced to use the training center 66 :( the one I had has mirror bug in LE.
    9c95cf32-df66-4192-99ad-35589a251315.jpeg
anyone know which is the right 66 to use in LE without bugs? I should consider buying that one as it has more detail. WIP

I did make a start on this one for you but placed it on hold. Done a great job as per but you should have other class 66s that don’t have issues on.
Those being the ECW, PBD. SEH, RHTT. Individual Loco DLC. I think most of the standard 66s you get with modern UK DLCs are okay.
I’m having issues with the cargo liner one and then the Freight express pack or ONE livery and DRS.
So depends on what UK route you like best or give you more options like fright services then maybe ECML or SEH route DLC.
The more UK routes you have they can link to offer you more passengers and freight services.

I have about 8 different class 66s now with one or two fright packs so again depending on what route you buy gives you a workable 66 and more services.

Been working on the class 66 PBD (Peterborough Doncaster) ECML version quite recently actually. Decal limit issues!.

Meant to drop this her on Sunday but flat out with work.

Been working on this, 66 748 “St Michael’s Mount” IMG_5162.jpeg IMG_5201.jpeg The state of it on Sat and then how it looked late Sunday.

I knew it would be tight so the logo was done with limited decals. I messing around with the look first and seeing how high of a demand the lettering would take. I’d have to refine them further to save decals.
But still it eaten up decals.

So had to start chopping. IMG_5275.jpeg The OHLE test removed and the Data plate information.
    It was a nightmare.

    But….

aah i wasn't sure anymore mate, i also started this 66 unexpectedly, i was just playing around and it wasn't the intention to make it so detailed. i was thinking about buying wcml and making this livery again for it, it's not that hard and i can finish it in a day.

when i've done that i want to make a nice couple of LINEAS rail 66 and the BR185 even though i still have so many projects going on that aren't finished yet. but thnx for the info now i can choose which uk dlc i want but i think it's going to be wcml.

however i have the Engineering Express pack now and i haven't found any problems with those 2 66 so i could use those too

You wasn’t the only one:). Any how that’s what happens sometimes on LD you play around with a few things and then get sucked in.
I’ve done it a few times recently on US and some EU units, yet again like you other work takes presidency.

Hey it’s alright man, the WCML is a good one. I drove past it all on my way up to Edinburgh then Glasgow ending up in Inverness for a ON stop. The scenery is spot on like. Fantastic route, long and well detailed.
So if you do get and your heading north you will see the M6 or M74 on the left. Brings back so many memories of being on the road:(

Cool they will give you some extra services too, not sure what that pack is best suited for route wise tho. It will tell you in the product description what route you might need to get the full experience.
Funny how you should bring that express pack up because yesterday I tried the DRS model and it too has a circle coming from the left head lamp again. I’ll fire some pics over for soon. That means both units in that pack have defects, well for me anyway.

If this is true then why are we having different issues….

Such as this one. I’ve managed to do some big grouping with no issues yet you do.
I have bugs on units yet you don’t. Sounds very odd if you ask me.

You know I always fear this bug issue so do try my best to remove on potential problems. Ie keep in one place or avoid on over manipulation of the decals etc. I mean look at the hand style writing done on “Windsor Lad”. They were in the 40s just for one letter nearly yet still pulled it off.

So thank you man, it’s always a pleasure to get some tricky work out with no issues. Makes it a joy over a painful experience, both have faced. Have you gone back to the one that gave you hassle, as any bugs might have mysteriously disappeared.
Because I do have success on grouping, but that bug will still come out of no where to make life hard.

Just hope DTG do look at your complaints. LD is hard at the best of time so user don’t need grouping bug issue nor faulty models on LD.

    Fingers crossed:)

I'm curious about those EU units :) but yes, that's true, it often goes like my Captrain project now... another 5 locos at once, lol.

But I was wrong. WCML is the one I already had and has bugs, so I actually meant ECML because the GBRF livery you made is also on that model and I can use it nicely :)

So ECML will be the next one, but I think I'll leave the 6601 on the TC 66 because the loco often looks very clean in real life thanks to good maintenance.

I hadn't found that problem with the DRS models yet, so good that you mentioned it, mate. I haven't gone back to that Transwaggon project yet because I have so many other projects going on. Sometimes I have a hard time choosing which project to finish first, but I often go by feeling what I feel like doing :)

I bet you are:) all will be revealed one day. You could say your in the same boat as me, and if we go back to beginnings why I mentioned about subbing work out. We set the HH/RN thread up for that purpose.

High work load or Projects that might need a larger support system.
All I can say is, I class work as my own individual work or work project I’ve committed my self to. (That’s when it feels like a Job).
Slave so I will mix it up with something I’d like to see, like chipping away at the Art work designs. Do what I like for me.

Any project needs to have the element of fun to it because if not then it can drag or even become a burden. Ie feel like you have to for doing sake. Meaning the passion can drain away because what is the purpose of it all.
To compete or to enjoy. A Duty or a Job or have fun and enjoy with passion.

So yes when choosing what to do, I’d always ask myself what’s the point or purpose of doing.

No worries the ECML can offer more flexibility for route extensions I think. You will be able to access the GBRfs too.

And I’d agree by leaving it on the TTC 66 as it’s more accessible with it being a common unit.
There are like you say very well maintained and I can see that from the past photos you’ve sent, it work so I’d agree to leave it as it is.

For the DRS Class 66 then look at this for a mess. A purchased product I’ve left feedback on DTG’s product thread but no response.
I will raise a ticket now because each product or add on pack has some form of fault. Shame it’s not made by ATS because that small team works hard and closely with fans.

My DRS from the Express Pack by Just Trains. I can’t work like this:( Pointless buy then)

…. IMG_5389.jpeg Similar issues as with the ONE 66 from the same pack.

It’s disgusting something like this gets to market.
Yet if you’re all good then it could be a console based issue. Something similar to the recent mistake with ATS release of Manchester Airport DLC, PC players was okay yet console players had the wrong unfinished product up.

Haha, yeah mate, I'm wondering which one you've done :) And yes, I haven't had time to work on RN HH yet, as I still have a lot of real-life things to make to get realistic AI traffic and diversity.

And that's why I want ECML soon. Unfortunately, the Steam summer sale is over, but maybe I can pick it up cheaply somewhere else :) I would leave the 6601 on the TTC 66 for this one, but I'd need more information, but I have no idea where to find a good close-up photo so you can read it all. This locomotive is also unique in Europe, so it's not the same as others.

And I checked DRS 66, and I have exactly the same bug! So everyone has it... Luckily, the original liveries are cool too, but it's a bummer that you can't do anything with it in LE.

I’m working on few that caught my eye, I’d say they’re liveries or design from an independent design company. Because of that they might not be familiar across EU networks or to one country. For EU or HH,RN work then thats taken a back seat for now.

Haha ya see you’re doing what I said yesterday waiting for the sale. It’s a common trend because I’m doing the same, waiting for the sale again. It’s a pain tho because I own most UK stuff bar the odd few that happen to be new DLCs so doubt they will be on sale anytime soon.
Like the Cardiff route or the Midland May one. I don’t by EU adds on.

For getting details for the Captrain then I found it hard to get decent photos for reference. I tried a number of sites like flicker, rail forums etc.
There’s photos but not clear enough for the data on the sides. My next step would be finding out what company designed the livery to see if they have any PDf documents or drawings up. Doubt it but again you’ll be amazed what some people into designing share.
I’ll do a little more digging around see what crops up.

And hey thanks for letting me know, because I will do something about this. I don’t know about you but I tend to buy for LD.
It’s where I spend most of my time. So I purchased that product in good faith thinking I can make some HH,RN stuff.
Even the cargo pack for the little project but each one is a disappointment. A complete waste of money.

You have limited options now even tho you should have two new 66s to play with in LD. But no.
They have our money and we get faulty products which like I was saying yesterday puts me off from buying any products or buying at full price. Not worth me spending full price if I’m now accustomed to this kind of poor product quality.

So it’s more than a bummer, it’s a kick in the fruit en veg. Even an insult to its long standing customers or fan base.
I feel some of these 3rd party developers have a great opportunity yet allow poor products to remain while swiftly moving on to the next pack or route.
The longer that goes on more products will be left behind and eventually everything released will be the same, all the while the problem pile builds up and so does the customer’s opinion. Add that some sales are at 75% off then how much money do DTG lose if consumers hold of for these sales. They must be if people aren’t willing to pay full price only sale prices.

It’s a common trend, I began noticing it more frequently on each release. When id see the polls they were more likely to read higher on wait for the sale.
All that started after TSW2 then 3 and now as I say has become the norm. Each September a new release, consumers know it will be on sale not long after release, so they wait.

Sorry to go on like but after so long you get fed up. It really does put me off buying anything with faith.
Not only that what’s the point because there seems to be no after sales teams that truly care.
Leave product feedback. Nothing, raise a complaint and gets no one anywhere.

Nothing changes, nothing improves in some areas. It just gets left behind to pile up.

Right well best be off, if I find anything for you I’ll let ya know.
    Catch ya soon:)
