Something very very special coming soon, so I hope all you budding livery fans are ready. And Team DTG was meant to have 3, not two liveries. Oh when Thomas arrives on TSW we don’t want him to feel left out, nor the Nation On a serious note tho I would like to kickstart this thread so we all can share advice and tips for those wishing be involved with TSW in general and the Livery Editor side too. So by adding something new and exciting it may encourage others to wave bye to past an welcome the future with sunglasses on. It’s gonna get very bright and very colourful soon. Let’s Mix it all up and have some fun. I’m bored of BR Blue now, are you?. Bye for now folks. TSLP.
Good to see you getting back into the swing of things mate, those are some very interesting liveries you've leaked there.. looking forward to hearing more of them! Also, please note that you can never truly have too much BR Blue, but I will admit, it's nice to see a splash of colour every now and then!
Oh thanks again my friend, I can’t seem stop there is much Inspiration flowing. It’s all working and slotting in to place. I did two units last night, so I’ll share them later. Again non have been published yet, but I am on it. GBRTT has got back in touch too so that’s a good start. And I hope I didn’t offend you or anyone about the BR blue. I feel with something like this I will be focusing on the future by creating a vision of what could be done using simple shapes and use of colours. For cost applications and universal use of a design across fleets or uniforms. All this must be taken in to consider with this design. Cheap and simple to apply with a flexible design that works. I may waffle a little more later on about the design process on bringing it all together. But basically by sharing a little more later on we can see with the design it is interchangeable, meaning same design across the fleet but with differing levels of colour combinations for possible regions. I do feel like this will appear as a big kick in the face to rail enthusiasts, so that is in my mind with this design. Yet I do see that clinging on to the traditional ways is in away holding our railways back and we have seen the consequences if any massive change is done half heartedly. Like it has with many overhauls of the UK rail infrastructure of the past 50 years. We need class, style and something that says we’re British with our sense of humour filmy intact. Plus this country needs a bit a fun, something special to brighten up our working environment. Something to make you smile as you board your train on those regularly commutes to the grind of working life. I feel this country needs that at the moment. Something to be proud about and more importantly be happy in our lives. I’ll catch you in a min my friend And thank you as always.
Evening all. My apologies for not being so enthusiastic, had some news and so in a somber mood. I also have to be up early for the Hospital, so again I can’t waffle like I usually do. So here is what I’ve been up to last night and the last few days. Sadly not one has been published as of yet, but that don’t mean HOOKHAUL can’t come to rescue. If I don’t get the necessary support in order to get the permission that is in order to release them as seen. Again I want to cover my back because it’s something that worries me a great deal. I hope you enjoy what I’ve been upto, as reading up on all the research on what the public want then Thomas the Tank was up there. And here He is if not in the flesh, personally I was a little dubious about what the public would like to see on as UK Railways. But I have to say I think it works. The logo is colour interchangeable as mentioned so each region could be different while still retaining the core elements of the logo. Even the Use of Thomas the Tank as a source of inspiration has many elements of the past. Steam,,and the actual character, Thomas who has been a part of many children’s fascination of all things Rail and there love for Trains. Be Steam of Diesel or even modern day Traction as the 66. They complement each other I feel if combining all that information together for a livery. Modern, Bright, Fun, and a nod the past. Anyway who am I. I’ll shut up now and hope you enjoy the shots. I had some error by leaving the compass on. So you’ll have to excuse my post editing. I also know a few of DM, but I’ve been doing this all day and need some rest for me op tomorrow. Night all, and hood to catch up with you all tomorrow. TSLP.
Hey all, Would like to quickly share the other livery that was teased a few days ago. The livery is part of the Team DTG from a few years back now, that due to unforeseen circumstances didn’t get around to doing. Also with it being something I said I would do but haven’t has played on my mind since 2023. And so it’s only fair of me to stick with the plan of 3. And with that here is the 3rd Team DTG Project (Nearly completed) The Class 700. TBA.?. I haven’t been able to fully focus on this livery yet, nor feel comfortable with its current design. Even the colour combination I’m not to sure on either. So I’m looking for some feedback, and if possible some advice on the 700 as I have no experience or knowledge of this particular class. That would be signs or seating information, anything would help me at this early stage. I would be truly grateful to anyone that could assist on these topics. Bye for now. TSLP.
Those liveries look fantastic Lee! At first glance, I wasn't a big fan of the Thomas livery, but upon further review, it does look quite good to be honest, so well done on that one. The other one has that edge I feel over the Thomas one though, the colours just work against the base quite nicely . Overall though, both liveries are done well and you should be proud of yourself for being original and by thinking out of the box to link it to a future DLC. Cannot wait to see how these develop .
This livery though... it's looking good so far . I don't know why you didn't release this one as part of Team DTG to be honest. It looks really good! Feedback wise: I like the design you have opted for on the first coach, so I would continue that down the train as it seems to work against the Class 700's bodyshell. I'd focus on getting the design on first before worrying about signage or seating information. Make sure you are happy with the base design before you decide to do anything else. Personally, that's what I do when I make liveries. I do the shape work etc. before focusing on technical information or signage. Just remember to take your time and not to rush things, as I know you seem to have a lot on your plate at the moment... Looking great so far !
Oh Thanks TrainGeek08. I was the same as you about Thomas. I have been reading a few things about what the Rail 200 Blog teams was up against. Design styles for logos, colours palette etc. And something that the public loved as a character to be used as part of the new designs. And Thomas was up there. Then Bam on thinking about this some what ludicrous idea of seeing Thomas colours all over Uk trains, then all this hit me. My old design such as this. With a few alterations then it would fit the requirements of a Nod to Steam, and to Thomas. So a quick change, no need to worry about colour palette as it there in front of me on Thomas. That was that one out the way. An then I thought about a more serious livery and to show its potential for interchangeability. So I remember my Scotsman livery and for the 66s. The colour inspiration. I went to these colours because they seemed to have that sense of old but a classic modern look to. And for a fictional livery they was well received by CC users. Please Note the Totem design is NOT my design. And all Credit goes to the original designer for that Totem. Which brings me on the problem the teams was facing with building a UK Flag in the the existing BR Arrow design. It’s use for Signs, Uniforms or anywhere the logo would be used. I felt by over complicating the design it would distract the the original core of the design. The BR Arrow logo. So rather than focus on the arrow I’d work to complement the original design by working that Totem design into a new design. It’s basic silhouette is simple too. Add that outline to the arrow for that modern update. The colours can be changed for operating purposes or for a special livery as seen with Thomas. So all I have done basically is seen what I have done in previous works and the inspiration I found by doing some research for those past works. Seen what is required or wanted by the public and that’s where the Bam moment came from. It clicked into place and so I feel that even tho Thomas looks completely different. It does work as a overall real world livery even if I did think that seeing Thomas on a Regular Basis across the UK would be silly then, I can’t argue or disagree with the pubic on this one. And if we took this one step further then what else is on the Island of Sodor?. Must be at least a 100 characters all based on real world locos. All with those bright colours schemes that could be used in a modern day design. If someone is brave enough to test what seems at first glance a little crazy. So I am All I am doing is taken Inspiration on all that the public want, but more importantly I see why they think this. It’s perfect for a Nod to all those that have added to the History of UK Railways. The Men and Women because Wilbert Vere Awdry wrote the stories and of course the late Britt Allcroft whom created the series I loved as a child. I Have both the Original Stories of Thomas the Tank and all the first series in a massive box set. So I see the importance of this character myself like the public do. As Women often get left out I feel, so here I see it would be a nod towards what women have added. Keeping what is important in our hearts and remembering what some have contributed but some how get left out. Like the whole argument of who is the real true father of Steam engine or it use as a mode of transportation. Names as Richard Trevithick, Thomas Newcomen. But where is Thomas Savery?. Anyway I’m going on high so,,I’ll remember who I am. Just me doing what I love, and you mentioned DLCs. Well I’d love for that to happen, not for me but for the fun and experience of all these visions coming to fruition for others to enjoy and to remember those past. I want all this to be for charity too because of what’s involved with the use of Thomas the Tank or it’s property rights. Here I maybe over complicating matters, so I am doing all I can to try wake up those that don’t see the possibility. It could be me that’s doesn’t see the work that would be needed to make this happen. So like I say I am reaching out to those that could help me achieve this goal. Tbh I feel lost and desperate for help. I don’t want to get into trouble, and so I’d need to get a lot more done but cant move forward with out having those I want onboard. Those with the rights and the ability to do this fairly due to ownership rights etc. So I’ll end now, I think I am on a high which ain’t good. Because I know how much is needed to get these out. I hope they see the light of day, not left in the dark to fade away. Just like others have done in the past. But if I take my Inspiration from my one time great. Isambard Kingdom Brunel then he never gave up nor will I. As always I appreciate your support and others too. I will do all I can to make this happen but the right way and respectfully to the best of my knowledge. I can only try so trying I am. Cheers my Friend. Lee. TSLP.
Thanks my friend for the the feedback. Yes I wanted this out with the rest of the Team DTG Project, but due to how things went it completely destroyed my ability to continue with any passion. It took a lot to to open the game, it hit me that hard. I think I would have done something tho if I had the DLC but I have no money. Not a penny, and so it would be unfair of me to ask for 12.99 for project that had just been beaten out of me. The Class 700 was on offer, and I remembered my side of the agreement and that why I am working on the 3rd and last livery. On your feedback too I think your right, I may continue with that line, as it will help in when I need to centre the logo on the cars. And on the process again your right, and for anyone interested then this is good advice. Focus on the main bulk of the design before the small details. I was only asking as some times for design and ease of displaying passenger information I’d build it in as one by being all part of the design elements. Like I have in the past with something like this design. I do like to use as many elements of a unit’s design in the overall aesthetic and layout of it’s design. So I have no idea or much information about the way passenger information etc is placed on the 700, so I’d like that short of information first in order to look into that as a possible design feature. If I see at as adventurous to this design. Which on second thoughts I don’t think that approach would works as well as the 800 design. Your right then,,I will focus on what you say. I’ll drag that design feature across the full length and just bang on the basic information afterwards. Doing it the way I was thing won’t work with this design. I owe ya one then Thank you for your feedback, it will give me something to do tonight. Why because I feel lost if I am not on TSW doing a livery. Thanks TrainGeek08 you have put some passion fuel back in me if you get me drift. Hope to catch you soon my friend, enjoy the rest of your evening Lee. TSLP.
Hi all. Okay I have been working on this class 710 and unfortunately I found when applying all decals across the set I face this problem. I have done all I can with what I have available but nothing seems to clear it. I think there is a way around the issue, but that means using more decals to fix it. The problem I think is the projector tool doesn’t reach the edge of the model. Has anyone else had this problem and if so did you fix the problem and how?. So I gave up and moved on to this…….
That crazy idea of using a Thomas theme across the UK networks. Well here is Thomas 21. Thomas 21 I hear you say. Well you hear me correct. Thomas 21 and there is Thomas 22 and Thomas 19 before that. Why?. Well I thought how many people were influenced by the Thomas the Tank Stories. How many Kids in the 50 and even today love standing at some random station to catch certain locos. The whole point is in one way or another it gave a young child the dreams of being a Train Driver. (Engineer) We want the children of today be more involved with showing interest in rail so why not with involving Train Spotting. It’s easy to because a child doesn’t understand TOPs. But seeing Thomas 21 to tick off is well easy. My Son and his mates love the idea and they are not really into trains. One even said they would by it. Maybe just being nice. Either way they did genuinely like the idea. Needs more attention on the details and that but here is a first draft of what Thomas across the UK networks could look like. Trying to keep to the original design concept seen on the Class 66s but add a little more dynamic styling for the front end while keeping the design simple and easy to apply if used in the real world. Please let me know if you feel any changes would be helpful in making this design work better. Even any advice on numbers for car identification etc. It all helps. Thanks all. TSLP.
Hello all, I apologise for being a little late or sound frantic. I just have a lot on away from TSW. So just a few photos of the 710 in a Thomas style livery. Or What would it look like if rolled out for real. You will see I have been doing some experiments with the door design. I was concerned about the flow of passengers which effects services across the networks. You guys and gals my be able to help because I don’t go out. So never been on a 710 nor the London Underground. So what’s it like to commute on a day to day basis?. I’d like to know the difficult you face when it comes to boarding or alighting a service. Here was my idea, for better flow. I even took one step further and designed a station for ease of excess, even a way to stop ticket evasion. Right down to fire ventilation in case of emergencies. But that’s me being me and not the place for Station architecture. My idea for passenger flow. On the platform would be areas for loading and unloading. The doors would be in line with these blocks. So those wanting to board in green. Those leaving have a clear red area to speed up passengers leaving the train as passengers begin to board their there places. A flow rather than a bottle neck. So you could help me build this into the design if you feel it’s an idea worth pursuing by adding some realistic aspects. As mentioned here’s a few photos I took last night to get the feel for there presence, or even provide the what if fantasy side to these photos and livery work. I’m lucky this one show up……….
…… Do you like me stick man ?. Would you think this would work in a real world situation?. Please let me know as I’d like this livery to be fun yet have the same functionality as real world. For personal when doing my work all these are key ingredients to make a fictional livery work. It’s all in the detail. Gotta fly,,got builders coming either tomorrow or next day. Depends when they want to show up I’ll catch you all soon folks. TSLP.
Thought I'd upload a few images on here. I've been considering releasing these on Creator's Club, but the threat of Copyright gives me pause. I saw that this thread was for other people who may be considering releases so thought I'd chip in:
Wow, just Wow, they are perfect mate, absolutely stunning they really are. You have really made my day, now I have seen these. I think you will do an amazing job on what we have been talking about and more. Okay for releasing these then with the Avanti then you should be ok. Please double check anything I say from this point. But seeing as DTG have the rights for use and have allowed the logos to be available then your are good to go. Obviously with any logo if you do anything that is seen as unfair use IE placing something inappropriate next to a logo or brand then no that’s not allowed. Even changing or altering someone else work that they have full rights of ownership of could be problematic. Basically any copyright work logos or TM you have no legal ownership off, only those that fall short of being eligible for copyright can you use but remember about their legal rights if used as a Trademark. Under Trademark or copyright then if you do any of the above then it’s unfair use because it’s not as the original owner intended. Or what a Company Trading under wants. For example I have a fictional company for TSW, I call it HOOKHAUL. Now if I gave you the rights to use this brand or you use on the basis of a fair use policy, then in terms right of its use we the owner, and you the company or individual as two parties would agree on the terms of the brands use. More so on use of Trademarks which are often copyrighted too. I’ve learnt this the hard way and why I am holding off on the works you have seen. This I have some fantastic news as hopefully I will be discussing this soon with a company I’d like to publicly remain anonymous based on confidentially. But anyway back to the point I was trying to make, then as say if we have a written agreement or contract these contracts have conditions. conditions both parties agree upon. Or if anyone goes outside of conditions of an agreement or contract has basically broken that agreement/ contract. So if you the individual asked for permission and you was given permission or certain rights given with the owner’s approval. An agreement with a clause that states not to be publicly traded or used with any other commercial entities that would be considered damaging by ways of public deformation of a company or individual. Something like that and then you go and bang A Brand such a Durex on my HOOKHAUL brand then no I as a company or creator of such work wouldn’t want that. Nor would they as a brand owner that allows for fair use under certain criteria. Plus if any agreement was made and then was broken that agreement or contract would end. And could result in the damaged individual or company taking legal action. Like braking a promise but with major legal implications. Don’t worry tho it can get kinda complicated and on the level we’re speaking of then it’s not like I’m Trading as Apple Incorporated and making money. We’re doing nothing like that so the complexity of it all can be left out. As I say don’t take all this as proper advice, as it’s what I have been trying to learn from back in 2021 say. I’m a slow learner but over the last few years it to has always bothered me but tried to understand all that information the best I can. I worry to much, which absolutely take everything out of me, trust me I have given in so many times. Because the worry the stress made me ill, good it happened because I finally found out why I struggled all my life. So I can kinda get where your coming from. So Avanti I’d say yes as in the license agreement between DTG then part of that agreement is use of the Avanti logo was asked for or given by either party. You have access to them so I’m pretty certain you good to go. Use but I don’t suggest you place any other funky brands like I mentioned. If you go on TSW T&C there will be a page somewhere that gives a list of operators who have give consent on the branding to be used. I don’t think it’s been updated tho. Just quickly with the Virgin logo, I think this again is okay to use under fair use, it may even be considered not available to be copyrighted due to it simple design and shape. But that’s copyright nothing to with Trademark so you can use Virgin but remember it’s a Trademark, that’s a different issue when it comes to use. For that Logo and Branding I’d assume is licensed for its heavily marketed worldwide, be in the Rail industry, Airlines, Ships, a wide array of market sectors. Even POP. Yes Virgin Cola,,,now that was nice. Long gone from British Shelf’s. I’ll send you a link that will explain all you need to know. Right I’m off to bed, but man your work is absolutely Bob on. Thanks you for showing me, I hope others see what your capable off. I’ll give you a tip about the doors. Make them neat. Like this here. Yellow inner lining, green door panels with strips. But then thin settings of decals for the outer lips or door frame. Doing it like this mean what ever decal you have will not touch the inner door edges as you open. So around 30 decals individually set to the body shell for each door on each side. Not fully protected as again they hit the inner door. So when the door opens you see the lines. And here’s the link. https://www.google.com/search?q=virgin logo&tbm= Hope this helps explain better than I have done Bye for now mate. Lee.
Oh it’s okay, I was tired last night and was going on and on. I hope the link helped because I think that and the tips about door work was the only thing useful in that post lol. I’m working on a few things at the moment, you’ll be aware of that tho But if you do need any advice then when things calm down we can try find some time to chat about any tips or tricks we have up our sleeves. Such a how do you deal with the the rear quarter of a 395. I do manage it but due to how the settings are on the model then they don’t make it easy. And for your doors this was what I was on about. Using a reflected decal, or set to 100 percent using the projector tool then the pink will hit the inner door lip. But if we set each decal to the body then the decals will not hit. As you will on the next picture. The white lines I can move over a little more which I did after doing these tests. I can do this because of the set decals that are used to cover the decals on the inner door. It’s very very tricky as nearly every decal may need additional adjustment after moving from either side or unit to unit. It’s a pain but I feel the effort is needed for a livery to look as good as they can. It will absolutely frustrate me if I can’t achieve perfection in this area of work. A case of I take pride in all the work I do. Hopefully my work reflects that so I get the satisfaction of achieving my goals. That be bring enjoyment thought experimental work and for the TSW user base and DTL community to enjoy or get involved with some rather odd but unique work even if it’s often fictitious in nature. That’s just the creative side of me, that you to share and have a talent for. So because we share the same passion I will do my upmost to assist and support you with all that I can provide in you could say my area of expertise now. Gosh I sound so cocky. But please I’m not being like that, You or others may feel I’m alright at what I do but I don’t think of it like that, I have many draw backs, so I’m not a Mr Fantastic by any means. I’m just a Bloke or Human doing what he loves that’s all. And hopefully I can try help and be there for others along the way. Anyway I’ll go before I dribble on any further. Hopefully we can have more time to chat when things calm down. Keep the great work up tho my friend your good at what you do. Enjoy your busy weekend, remember to chill tho. It might get hectic soon. Your Project Partner, and community friend. Lee, TSLP✌.
That would be great. I'm still getting used to creating liveries so your advice is valuable. You don't sound cocky to me You just have experience.
No worries maybe having OCD does help sometimes. Mind you I’m not always the best or make things easy. I over complicate things I feel, and so by doing that over look the simple stuff, or the most logical way to do things. But my friend I appreciate your comments, like I said when all this Rail 200 Prep/ Idea calm down I can help you in what ever your struggling with. All my work done is done by thinking outside the Box, in more ways than one Catch you soon Mr Mystery lol. Lee.
Just thought I’d share some work. Not much but it’s to show the Team I am working So are you ready???. That’s right, hours of work and look at the detail when sized down. Pointless you could say, if it’s there on the real deal then I will make it for my own peace of mind. I know it’s there then. Can’t always be done like this, decal limit and type of livery. But where I can I will. A little question tho, is this going overboard. Why well a livery with high amounts of decals slow the system down causing carriages to be missing as the Ai places them in. So my question is. If this work can’t be seen and it slows the system down then, is it worth all the time and effort?.
Coming soon, hopefully. Need to do some testing on the colours now while it's not too hard to change it all...
Arriva, now that’s a company I’ve not seen around a a while. Be good to see when final completed my friend and I’m so glad your getting a taste for liveries again. Keep it up my friend, need any tips tho then you know where I am. Gotta go but catch you soon my friend. Lee✌
Hello all, here are all of my Arriva liveries for the 150; https://creatorsclub.dovetailgames.com/creations/209978 - debranded (+poppy) https://creatorsclub.dovetailgames.com/creations/209975 - branded https://creatorsclub.dovetailgames.com/creations/209948 - debranded • Unfortunately, I haven't had time to upload some screenshots to my phone, I'll do that tomorrow.
Hey sorry I missed these, I turn off around 8 or 9 help try me focus. And I’ll try check these out later, I’m gonna have a quick nod before 12. Been one of those nights when I couldn’t sleep due to me tooth so focused on a livery I’ve just posted on Rail 200 thread to take my mind off it all. So please don’t think I’m being rude, I’m gonna try sleep now the pains eased a little. But I’ll be back later mate to check things out. Be Good and enjoy your day Elliot. Lee✌.
No worries at all, taking a look at them is never a requirement - just an option! Sorry to hear about your tooth, I had tooth decay not long ago, and while they were drilling the decay out, they killed my nerve which was some godawful level of pain but it was all good in the end as they used some weird thing to heal the nerve and now I'm alright but my god it was horrible in the moment like. Anyway, we'll talk soon - I'll upload some screenshots onto here once I'm home for you all.
I will as in my field of interest then it’s a requirement not an option And man,,please don’t. I had similar issues for six years, even paid 190 quid for the op but due to my work schedule at the time I got stuck up in Scotland so couldn’t make it, they Banned me half way through treatment. I lost more good teeth than I did the bad ones. I couldn’t skip work either as I was a key worker keeping the UK waters supplies safe, delivering key’s supplies. Shown the head dentist all my letters from many key constabulary’s as we was in lockdown. But still regardless I got banned and not found a dentist since. Anyway it’s a molar tooth. So without all the core stuff then it sound the same, tooth dead but a nerve is still alive. It’s what’s setting my ear of, that’s the worst as it feel like a screwdriver rammed in there. I’m trying to work passed that now it’s eased. But a two days ago I was in absolute agony. So yes painful and I’m happy to hear you got it all fixed. Seriously it’s a massive problem for many looking for dental treatment. It’s a shame what’s happened, a back log ya see. Cool,,can’t wait to see ✌
Am liking the Poppy mate, good work there. Are those from the New Wales route?. So wanna get my hands on that, DTG are pumping some mint stuff out right now. But can’t buy nowt. Anyhow,,plod on we must.
Yeah, the Cardiff City Commuter or whatever it's called. I've got a question - how do you make decals less.. pixelated?
Mornings, yes that’s the one I’m stuck for the correct name too. And sure, there’s the odd thing I could suggest, but it would be either down to what console you have or PC etc. Even the TV or Monitor can make things worse depending on settings etc. Those areas is not my forte, but sure I can try help with the livery side. Pop us a DM later. I will try help out. Catch you later Elliot. Lee. ✌
Been working on many things away from Railway 200. Playing with a few ideas on the new BR logo, which has already been developed. Rather to the dislikes of the original BR Arrow designer, Gerald Lawrence Barney. And I agree that with such a simple design needs to be complemented with simple geometric shapes. Not touched or heavily altered but kept and work around it. The key design element, the BR Arrow Logo. This is just a second example of messing around with a tight neat (edit) simple design. And Yes I have placed lettering on the logo, a big NO?. I’m not sure of that answer, so giving it a shot in order to find out. Something simple all wrapped in a Totem shape design. Let us know in the comments how you feel about working on a BR Arrow. It’s a master piece of design and I will respect its design and the designer behind the original. You can’t mess with an icon of British Design. Only do the best to complement its design. Would you agree with that statement?. TSLP.
Looks good that does mate! I definitely agree with that statement.. some things don't need changing! How have you gotten the decals to be so sharp (not blurry or rough looking)?
Cheers Again I put it down to the improvement on the game it’s self and when I upgraded to PS5. That made a massive difference and why I said about consoles or what your using. So I’ll ask that question first. Are you on computer or console, if console which one?.
See what on earth is this?!? This is one of the reasons I was put off making liveries, it's so depressing putting so much time and effort into making a livery, only to take it out in game and have 90% of the decals look painfully blurred and just overall look a mess. It's so annoying.
Thought I'd chip in here. These liveries of yours look great. My advice to you is to try and use/take pictures of them on a PC using the XBox app if you have a PC/Monitor. I use my Xbox to create liveries and then take pictures this way, which helps slightly
Right with being a PS fan since the 90s the Sonys consoles I only use and ever will do. The problem you are having those is NOT an Individual issue neither. I face it and always have. It’s how the lighting or the game is made. I’ll show you an example of this. It’s cars but stay with me. Some work I did on The Crew Motorfest. The point I am making is that this game is a online game. Users look for the perfect look of the vehicles because well that’s the high expectations of that industry. To get these results takes massive amounts of money and servers. With TSW it’s different, most of the games data is used on Ai, signals, processing scenery all that data. So the devs will have to make certain sacrifices in terms of how graphics appear close up. If you want it to look perfect then thats all data, data takes up space and that space is mostly taken up on the background Ai etc. Again why the comparison seen here is not down to the skill of the devs, but that Ubisoft has massive resources (On line games), where DTG don’t, so they must make sacrifices and when it comes down to graphics then we see where they made them. Don’t worry I have the same issue, but they look fine when your in the Cab. I wouldn’t let it put you off, it hasn’t me. Lee.
Thanks for stepping in there, I’m no expert in that field so I’m glad you can help Trainguy#6029. Because it’s not my area I’ll leave it to you JPlayz. Nice one mate✌. Support, I like it. Lee.
A little Morning Glory Okay I said I wasn’t going to do a LNER EVER AGAIN!. Well, with this little service then I couldn’t let this one Slide Away A few pics of my first official LNER livery, with a twist oh and it’s Blue. By the way when I say official I don’t mean officially commissioned but rather me doing a no fiction LNER for once. Still a massive amount of work to do be done yet. So glad I’m feeling Supersonic And yes I am a Oasis Fan, there in 94 and still have the originals CDs, yet I prefer Blur more so have their CDs too. Soz Liam, and Noel Also if there is any Oasis fans out there I could do with some Oasis fan feedback. Come on take you back to the Days when were was all gonna live forever. What a Tune, Great Band and it’s quite different of LNER to do something for a Rock n Roll band, especially with one with such a past reputation. HAVE IT, lol. Well hope you find this one interesting. Catch you soon folks. TSLP.
I'm just going to show you what I meant about using a PC because of the low graphics on console: This is based off of a livery I'm making at the moment. This was made entirely on my Xbox and the resolution on it was so low it was hard to see where the smaller details should go and trying to make it looks less blurred/oddly textured. But, on PC I am able to identify mistakes and easily rectify it. If you have a PC, I would recommend using this method as TSW should sync up when using the Xbox app. JPlayz
Oh gosh yeah that does look a lot better.. unfortunately however, I don't have a PC. But maybe in the future..! That livery looks great so far by the way, keep us updated with it will ya?
Oh. Something to consider I suppose. Just thought I'd show you in case you ever get one as I said I would I most certainly will. Here's the thread if you want updates: https://forums.dovetailgames.com/threads/my-creators-club-content.90514/
Mate they look well smart, nice job. To be fair I am struggling due to the low light conditions. And I am at a loss for words expect for what I have already said. By all means I am no expert therefore someone with better knowledge than I can possibly explain. Especially when it comes to PCs, as I have developed a slight dislike to PC for some reason. PS5 does all that I need but saying that having a proper editing software and PC would be a great way to help me do what I have in mind. Just limited to what’s on the game. Simple for a simple man As simple man tho I have seen over my years of working with livery editor that today the graphics of the game it’s self have vastly improved hence showing up more errors or faults on now a user places decals or deals with layer management. Such as the 801 I am working on. I have seen so many even some Top names on CC that can’t get the front clean. Why well down to using to many decals either because there not using the right decal or over manipulating the shape which will cause the decal to appear scruffy. A over worked decal. Where with mine it took one decal for the main flow line, no over manipulation nor excessive use of decal that again once layers or joined will appear in the light. Simply put speaking from experience then to many layers are used and the wrong shape decal for it to be over worked. All this will have a massive effect on the quality of the workmanship seen in the end product. It’s not just about banging a decal on. Treat every decal with respect, if it’s fighting then she’s not the one (Correct Shape). If you using to many decals and it’s hard to man manage or find your getting lost then again it’s not the right way doing it nor working. And this will be evident in work done by you and this high flyers on CC, the work is rushed, not cherished or worked on in order to work out all the issues of scruffy looking liveries when used out of the studio. Resulting in more lost time more frustration and for what,,to get work out to be number one? Why when like many businesses that was number one can go under if quality isn’t there. Rushing now means problems in the future so I thought 3 or 4 years ahead of what I was gonna do. Work the problem now so the problem doesn’t work me later on down the line. My and my long moments of deep thought which at time have no control over, it just how my brain works. So yes getting back to the topic and honestly can’t say about system requirements, be PC or PC frame rates and all that. I don’t understand it all. I can only share my thoughts and experiences on where I seen the problem in relation to decals looking scruffy. Some of it you can’t do anything about I get the same, all we can do is try limit aggravating the problem by being a scruffy craftsman. By basically playing the game and learning from what a user sees are flaws and what are faults of a creator. Perfection is in the eye of the beholder. Don’t except faults, continually improve on what you see are faults. Basically just look, but as we was saying that take time. I made sure I have time as I have in some ways devoted half my life to making liveries because I’d rather be me than work for someone else in a dead end job only to look back and say where did my dreams go. To late if I spent that time on the things that didn’t matter. Especially when you get sick a company doesn’t support you and then thrown to one side. Anyway ranting. Sorry. Catch you later mate. And I do like them liveries, thanks for sharing. Lee.
Watch this space DTG Matt. It’s for you remember. Take it off me so I don’t have to worry no longer. By taking it of me I mean you put her to good use. She’s been sat in a Shed for over a year and half now. I will give her a new lick of paint and then please let her see the light of day. I can’t move on. She’s not ticked off
A few things I am messing around with, PINK. Yes I know the gang back at DTG are doing a pink train, but I’ve done one or two in my time. Why well as a bloke I’m not ashamed to say I like the colour pink. Had a few pink shirts back in me day. Anyway PINK is the theme here. Had Aerosmith playing all night Okay nothing major as just messing around with these. I’m feeling quite “PERKY” about the RHTT 66 and the 395 now that’s a completely different kettle of fish. ✌
Something I have dropped on to CC earlier this morning. TSLP313 if your search as I’m still unsure of links etc. The photos are in taken in free roam using the WCML, London Milton Keynes DLC. And the Class 395 from of the SEHS DLC. And tell you what it’s was running nice absolutely breathtaking the amount of work gone into that route. It’s like I was there for real (Edit) as your about to see for yourself. A stunning game, fair play DTG. No post editing so you can see how well the game looks and how fun the Photo mode is. Not sure if set 393 013 belong there but it’s available so you can enjoy in what ever location is best. Have fun TSLP✌
Hey Lee, This looks great. I'll sub to it shortly. Can't wait to drive it. I like how the lighter green on the doors compliments the turquoise swipe (not sure what to call it actually, you might know the technical term though ) along the side of the train. I'll post some links for the livery shortly for you so that users can go onto it directly. Mr Mystery (aka JPlayz )
