And they didn't just clone the same asset over and over. Here's a different one:

I was driving on Antelope Valley with dynamic weather, as per usual the glorious sunshine soon turned to showers (yes even in California!), so the wipers went on. I hadn’t noticed the shower had stopped but the wipers told me by making that squeaking sound as they ran out of moisture to wipe! I don't know if it was just a coincidence or not but the effect was very pleasing.

It does happen on several other locos / units in the game. But its one of those neat little touches.

With Hamburg-Lubeck being one of my favourite routes plus now that I'm enjoying it even more thanks to the 218.

Anyway, I just love when routes like this have a really rich and detailed timetable, so I was really surprised to see this AI 363 pulling a long mix of dosto and IC coaches pass through Hamburg as I waited for my 218 service to depart. Hamburg Hbf is incredibly busy and I just love it!

    71412e21-c588-415d-8d11-eea0804366a3.jpg

Also, regarding Hamburg-Lubeck's superb timetable, the addition of the 628 AI traffic at Lubeck is amazing. It's small things like this which really add to the immersion.

Did anyone notice, you can open the small triangle-shaped windows in the 218? :)

I mean... they are literally next to one another so you could say either one and be correct. The passengers "board" on platform X, and the train "departs" track X....because you shouldn't have the train ON the platform, nor passengers ON the tracks normally ;-)

It's always neat to see the NPCs dressed different...for weather, for date, for location... German style is different, winter coats are different, UK styles are different and going between a 1958 map, a 1983 map and a 2016 map they're ALL different.
    That's attention to detail!

That and the nature sounds are what puts Nidder over the top for me.
There's a lot of "life" with the passengers and the birds in the trees, etc.
Even the water seems to "flow" and there's reflections in the large rain puddles in the fields.

Is a cook in the Army, we'd call the rough field coffee "hobo brew."
No filter, just dump the grounds in a pot of boiling water, let it keep boiling and toss a few eggshells in, then scoop from the top.
Just don't go all the way to the bottom or you're gonna have really "thick" coffee ;-)
The story is it's "how the train hobos made it."
Definitely puts hair on your chest and you don't want to be the last one for coffee in the morning!

There are quite a few routes with "railfan" locations (like Horseshoe Curve and the Cajon Pass location, forget what it's called)
They don't do anything if you honk the horn, but it's still neat to see people standing there.

Cowboy coffee is pretty much the same, except at the end you toss in a horseshoe. If the horseshoe sinks, add more coffee.

Reminds me of "Navy Coffee" ...it's only drinkable if nothing can sink in it.

I was running a Metrolink train on Antelope Valley Line, and I saw a UFO, flying.
Sorry not picture now, as I am not at home these days. But I will share with you next week.

Is Antelope Valley set in an earlier time period than Cathcart Circle? Wondering if that's the same UFO that crashed in CCL or a different one and thus an invasion.

Great sighting! Thanks to the photo mode, the game can freeze immediately and you can concentrate on the photo subjects. Somehow all game developers are crazy about aliens, because in Gran Turismo 7 you can also observe UFOs. If you pull over to the side of certain routes and park, a UFO appears after 10 minutes of waiting and a cow is even beamed up using a tractor beam. Regarding cows and aliens, I heard something happened recently in TSW in Scotland. ;)

    I plays GT7 too!.
But I did not noticed any UFOs there.
May be it is because...you have great risk of having a collision, and have to concentrate on the track! :(

I didn't know it myself until I saw an Easter egg video about GT7. There are also a few animals to discover, like kangaroos, bears or the world-famous sea monster Nessie. You can even see a SpaceX Falcon Heavy take off, and if you wait a little longer the two side boosters come back and land. It's actually a car game, but if there's something to discover off the track too, why not...

BTW: a rocket launch would be a great new mastery reward for TSW! We haven't had one yet... ;)

I applaud you all who have the time let alone the energy to be this precise with gameplay performance. I wish! I’ve got two children under the age of 4 and a full time job, so my time with TSW is zilch! So i do pass by here to see who is still flying the flag, generally impressed lol

Has the recent rare, blue supermoon appeared in TSW? I've never seen the moon so big in-game... 636ef5b1-bea3-4363-a760-acbbec6bbbc2.jpg

The sun and moon positions are actually quite realistic in TSW, saw some images of a partial solar eclipse a while back. So I wouldn’t be surprised if the recent super moon showed up in-game :D

In Frankfurt you can actually set the junctions with this machine on the yard infront of the mainstation!

On the new Frankfurt-Fulda route, the route map collectible has a little glass window that is slightly ajar before you place the map, so it actually seems like you’re opening up the window, placing the map in there and closing it again. Love these little details!

    More:
    • Some of the FlixTrain passenger wagon doors have little paper sheets with the train number and destination in their windows!
    • The FlixTrain wagons have a control panel where you can set the lighting brightness individually for each wagon, kind of like the DoSto wagons.
    • On LA - San Bernardino, head down the street heading towards the speedway from the station and you can actually stand right at the fence and look at it up close!

Similar things have been done to Frankfurt Hbf.
Yesterday I ran into a DB IC train, apparently (judging by PIS) from Erfurt, headed by two BR 101s oriented towards the station. I even started wondering if this was perhaps a consist building error, but then a G6 arrived, coupled to the rear and pulled the rake towards the sidings and ultimately off map (I hopped on the G6 to check :)).

I was working today on getting a bunch of my mods re-installed into TSW5 (and seeing how many from TSW4 worked without the author having to re-cook them), and I loaded into the updated Cathcart route & was very pleased to see the 350 & 390 at Glasgow Central!

    That’s lucky.

see https://forums.dovetailgames.com/th...oadmap-november-2024.86940/page-2#post-928346 and this section of the roadmap:

    https://live.dovetailgames.com/live...ticle/train-sim-world-5-roadmap-november-2024
State of Play: Performance, Crashes and Textures
In this section, we wanted to share with you an honest update for where we're at with regards to overall performance, crash reports in TSW5, and linked to these is also the discussion around textures appearing at a lower-resolution than expected for console platforms. All of these are tied to available memory budgets being exceeded, and our teams have been investigating ways to save memory and help reduce the impact and frequency of these issues.
We've been able to identify small improvements and optimisations we can make, some of which have already been shipped in patches released so far, and the team are constantly reviewing performance data across core content, looking at FPS averages at key stations across the routes, and tracking the overall volume of crashes for each platform.
These issues remain a clear focus of our teams to improve, work is ongoing and profiling continues, but to stay transparent with everyone across our community, it's unfortunately not something our teams will be able to deliver this side of the holidays. We will continue in the new year on our plan to bring you further optimisations with the aim to further reduce the volume of crashes we're seeing in Train Sim World 5, and allow for the best performance possible.

In the 710 if the glass door, where the switches for safety systems are located is open during driving, you can hear it ratlle.
Cabin light automaticly goes on when you open a driver door.

On BPO, the clouds look different when it's snowing compared to when it's raining. More noticeable if it happens mid session. Never seen this before.

Not sure if this has been mentioned, but on the TFL Class 710, if you leave the safety systems panel door open, it will rattle away while the train is in motion. It's a nice little touch, and I can't recall it being on any other DLC.

Mentioned just a few days ago funnily enough (https://forums.dovetailgames.com/threads/those-small-details.30968/page-13#post-931003). I've noticed it before - it's a nice little touch. Always does my head in thinking what on earth is that rattle... Oh! And then I close the door :D

Came across a Talent 2 waiting for its next service at Frankfurt Hbf today, and the rear cab had its sunblind down halfway, presumably to prevent the sunlight from heating it up too much while nobody is in it. Pretty cool detail!
