I am proposing a new feature called Train Delays. This would be a setting in the main menu that you can turn on or off. Train delays would be a dynamic new feature that would make your timetabled journey unpredictable. Here's what it would involve. Improved AI train logic to add more realistic timetables. i.e. AI trains don't full blast it out the station, AI trains delayed at the station or on the line, AI trains breaking down and blocking the line resulting in being re-routed around them i.e. moving from the fast to the slow lines or vice-versa. Overall resulting in adverse signals, which is common. Unlike the all green signals runs you get in TSW. Passenger delays: passengers take longer to board the train meaning a late departure. Improved Train Faults (we've already got this, but I want to see improvements and more train specific faults) Passenger Emergency Alarm activation e.g. having to deal with generic scenarios, 'train is packed I accidentally hit the alarm' or 'I am trapped in the toilet' or 'my child activated the alarm' etc as the driver you would 'speak' to them through text on screen and then dispatch the Guard/TM to reset the alarm. If you don't respond to the alarm the emergency brakes activate. GSM-R calls/emergency calls i.e. the signaller asks you to stop while something is sorted out ahead before you can proceed. Or having to proceed at a low speed due to a track defect/inspection of the track or a bridge strike As I mentioned this would be something you can turn on or off in the menu depending on if you want a quick run or not. Overall these features would be generic to suit every route. As for scenarios that's when you can have specific tasks and situations that add to the realism. I think this would enhance the game and make it considerably more realistic adding to the re-playability value.
