Do not worry... I will use the "red phone" which I have direct contact with DTG, in order to push RG to add extra 40 kms, and those IC trains!;)

    You may be right...
I believe we do not have the chance to see outside of St. Pancras beautiful station either, on SEHS route..
I remember some one could get a picture, but do not know how.

For Grand Central despite it is a nice building outside, the most famous picture is the Main Hall inside.

I have the chance to be there, and it is incredible, as you remember too many movies made there.

What are really ugly are the dark platforms of the station.
At least the ones I had to use in order to go to Stamford in Connecticut.
That was on 2005... may be know they are better.
But underground train platforms are not usually nice in the USA.

Do you notice Swiss trains it have three initials: SBB CFF and FFS?
This is due to they have 3 official languages: German/ French and Italian!

They are for: SBB = Schweizerische Bundesbahn / CFF = Chemins de fer fédéraux suisses / FFS = Ferrovie federali svizzere
    It means Swiss Federal Railways.

Hopefully one day they will start adding a hub or main center where people gather and interact, and where people are buying tickets, hanging out, and catching their train, basically the interior of grand central terminal, and other terminals as well.

Well first off, this route is the first route from Rivet that actually interests me, Arosa, IoW & WCL weren’t really my thing, barring some of the rolling stock. This route however does look like something I could get my teeth into, my only questions really are regarding the length and included stock, arguably shorter doesn’t mean it will be bad, look at HRR & RRO for example, rather busy routes with a lot going on, considering when they were made, but most the runs are only 20-40 minutes, however leading into my question regarding rolling stock, this route doesn’t seem to be making up for its length, at least not in gameplay wise, as far as I can tell. It also seems abit of a shame to develop a new signalling system for the game, only to implement it over a very small section of track. We did see this before with SEHS & TVM, however we later got the LGV, so maybe we have a bigger ETCS project on the way?

Hopefully Rivet can make use of some of the existing stock for layers where possible for this route, and I think it’s great that a Flirt is arriving in TSW, regardless of your opinion of it, it’s undeniable that the Flirt fleet is becoming a very popular and increasingly common sight on European railways, so I think it very much needs, and deserves to be represented.

I’ll leave the Rivet bashing out of it, all I will say is I hope we see some improvements where past DLC has fallen short on the technical aspect of things, very interested to see the progress with this one.

Please notice RRO it is 42 km long!
That length was common on most firsts routes on TSW2.
But 20 km, is almost half of that, what was already not too long.

As to how entertaining could be?...
It seems to be a route with lot of traffic.
But if all you have to do is just start and stop on each station of the route, with no other thing to do, then just to be another train and route is not enough for me.
I can do that on Bakerloo as a Subway, on GWE and, SEHS with UK trains, plus on lot of german routes too.
But they are much longer, and also with other different trains around.

    Do not get me wrong...
As I mentioned before I like Swiss trains very much.
But considering the really short route length and only one train, it seems not be a one to select to buy.

Anyway I will wait to get all the information of the route on the coming days, for final decision.

One thing it is important for me is "quality" of entertainment. Not "quantity"!.
On most routes today we have more than 100 timetables. But most of them are exactly the same, with no entertaining driving, just going to point A to B just on different time of the day.

So, I have a question about safety systems on the Flirt. Will it also be equipped with ZUB?

The Flirt driving on this line with ETCS is wrong:
The Flirt is equipped with ETCS to be able to run for example on the Gotthard, where the line is equipped with ETCS L2.
The line Luzern-Sursee is only equipped with ETCS L1LS, which requires Baseline 3 on the train ETCS, which the Flirt does not have.
Hence it is impossible for the Flirt to run on ETCS on this line.

Can you please look into this?

That length is pretty much nothing. Just extend it to Baar, then we would have the full S1 line of S-Bahn Luzern.

Haven't yet made up my mind about this one. Love the Flirt and ETCS. But the route being so short.... It will probably depend on the price. If it's about half of the normal route price, I'd go for it, otherwise it'll have to wait untill it's on sale.

That would be 48km instead of the current 23km if my numbers are correct which is a lot better than the current length and this would actually make me buy this day one the route does look and sound great but I cannot justify paying the money for a route when it's this short and doesn't even have a freight layer so for me this is a no buy until its on sale if we ever get an xbox sale that is lol

I totally agree with u; Rivet's stuff hasn't been on-point, but they are getting better and better, the scenery on WCL; the water & the rocks were amazing. I really hope Luzern-Suree will be more good then WCL was, but indeed Rivet gets better!

And yes rather having a good 26km then a bad 52km.

I agree. The only Rivet route I own right now is Isle of Wight, but the other two are definitely near the very top of my “to buy” list. If I’m in need of a new route and they’re on sale, I’ll definitely consider them due to the relatively good community feedback on them.

What I really like about Isle of Wight is the attention to detail, especially the huge amount of walkable areas. As someone who plays a lot of open world games, I just appreciate the attention Rivet is giving to the whole game world, instead of just the train driving.

The new Swiss route may not be the longest, but that won’t be a problem if the attention to detail is good. I’m expecting some very immersive and detailed landscapes!

Good question, though the announcement only said the route had ETCS. It didn't explicitly say the Flirt came with it.

Found a relatively good cab ride video showing the entire route. Since no such videos of S-Bahn or regional services were available, I picked a long-range service from Luzern to Basel. The playable part of the new route is visible until about 18:30.

I have to say, I’m very impressed! The scenery looks very varied and impressive. I hope Rivet can accurately depict everything in the game, which should be expected since the route is comparatively short. Looking forward to more info!

Nice video. The route looks pretty urban.. which is probably a lot of work to do.. the short length is not so bad if it really is depicted as in this video. I just wish they also included a freight run.

Speaking of SBB CFF FFS ZUB is the ZUB123 system used or ZUB 262 system used? If ZUB262 is used then it must be below ETCS L1S due to ETCS being overlaid on top of ZUB262

    Hi All!!!
I wonder if there´s one who tried to make your own routes/maps in TSW 2022 yet.. -I know it´s a far to new game yet maybe.. -But if it´s possible?? OR in the old 2020 version.. and with the down-loadable unreal/editor

-And as an earlier "Trainz" member with many versions, and.. their worldeditor made here many routes/maps.. I decided now to step up a notch with a new editor..

-I was "really" impressed by my newbrought TSW 2020 back then, ..huge graphic and stunning effects up on that.. I decided now to buy TSW 2022..
-But the big question IS.... "since" I am an editor of routes/maps.. I want to make my own and share to other
(for free of couse)(and Im a real good editor!!)

-Please!! -Can anyone reply on this thred and tell if it´s possible at this moment.. -Allready downloaded the 4.27.2 unreal engine here with the editor.. as/was free to download..
(a good pc is required.. I can ensure you that.. allready tested the editor)

    Regards from
    Sweden

I can remeber a discussion in the forum two years or so ago. There was an attempt to build an editor for TSW, but this attempt was never completed. The main reason was that TSW is a multi platform game. If there would be an editor like for the TS, then only PC players would benefit from it. But because two-thirds of the players are console users, that part would be sad or disadvantaged and you can't run a UE4 editor on any console. As a balancing solution and as tools for everyone, the Livery Designer and the Scenario Editor saw the light of day. But there's nothing wrong with having the UE4 installed and familiarized with it. Practice makes perfect!

DB BR187 lacks a French Luxembourg Swiss 25/15kv 1.45m Carbon Contact strip pantograph. Run Rabe 523 on existing German routes you should lose power due to the Swiss 1.45m pantograph being smaller than a Deutsche Bahn OBB 1.95m pantograph for 15kv AC

187 unfortunately does not only not have such system.
It have other systems like AFB, that works really bad, so it is became useless!
Not even mention others annoying issues.

    The train itself looks nice!
Nice detail about the internal screens.
But they will show only the final station, or all the ones in the route, or at least the next the train arrives?
I believe there will be the first one.

What I do not like very much are the screens on the cabin.
    They look quite simple.
Not like the ones on German trains.
May be they will be improved at launch time.
Or Swiss ones are like that?

Graphically it's beautiful, but that sound of footsteps and that acceleration... you can hear the loop breaking, I hope they fix it until the launch

So just to double check: When is the route set?
Apart from that, here is a list of things I noticed in the recent video:
-RHB ticket machines on platforms, they should be the SBB ones
-the sound of the FLIRT is AMAZING, the only thing that bothers me a bit is the sound when you walk through the train and the cut loop as it accelerated, might have also just been my headphones though…
-the scenery looks really great so far!
-the PIS in the train works and looks very well, but I noticed that inside the wagons in the middle it said S24 from Laufenburg-Laufenburg (top ones), and the ones on the left said S25 Laufenburg-Laufenburg, while the front and back ones said S1 to Luzern

Apart from that, I just got hyped more by a lot!
Keep up the work, it looks great :D

You know, I don't mind the route being short. For Switzerland the safety system and many station assets (aswell as other assets) have to be developed from the ground up. This route could just be the start of that, with longer routes in the future.

Many people give Rivet quite some flak for their performance, which is understandable, but I'm holdingnoff with negative judgement until I've seen a preview stream. That being said, the pictures and video so far have been promising, I like what I'm seeing and most inportantly, hearing. This FLIRT sounds right to my ears, and I would buy this.

Of course there's still a lot about this route we still need to see and hear, but I'm keeping a bit of secret hope. I really hope thjs route will see Rivet find their niche, and that this route will only be the first in a long line of swiss mainline routes, with longer routes and more diverse rolling stock to come. Then again, I am not getting my hopes up too much until I've seen the entire finished product. :)

Same for me. We have the 2. Route which is not placed in the 3 main countries. On top plenty of future dlc options.

    Looking forward to it.
