Would like to see the old route from Doncaster to York via the old route of Selby swing bridge, this has now almost completely gone & was the original east coast main line & could include the old BREL works at Doncaster which is now no more, it would include the loco's of the time which were Class 55, 47, 40, 37, 20's, peaks45-46, 56, 08, 43 HST, to mid 80's, 91 from when introduced at the time of new route being built were pulled by RES class 47 to leeds, York etc. Any info etc I can supply I will. Thanks
Yeah we need an ECML route and the early 80s would be my preferred era so we get Peaks, Deltics and HSTs all working together.
Bring It On in the late 1980s electrification has reached York and Leeds 1989-1990 York to Edinburgh via Newcastle upon Tyne. Class 91s with HST Paxman Valenta engines the two high speed trains. one goes further than the electric territory HST Within electric territory Class 91 Mk 4 coach.
Love the 91 and would love to see it in game but personally I think I would prefer the route with a Deltic and Valenta HSTs. The more I think about the 91 the more my mind starts to sway towards it though!!
Thanks for your replies guys, lets take it a step further; Using the Doncaster to York old route theme, it wouldn't take much to link it up with the Leeds NTP route & the Tee's to Darlington, around the Doncaster, York Leeds area there were many Power stations (Ferrybridge, Eggborough, Drax, Thorpe Marsh) & Pits, Selby coalfield, Kellingley (which links to the Tee's) MGR trains, think we all like the loading & tipping of Hoppers which started with the 47's, to 56's, 58's, 60's, the blue NPower 59 & the final chapter of the 66's, varying from the old BR green, to blue, sectors & finally, Freightliner, EWS & DB. There could also be an option for the steam specials which still run, class 40 night mail, Motor rail etc, Test runs out of Doncaster works with class 50's, 37's just after refurb, 56 & 58 after being built. Any other thoughts? Thanks
