in the rail fest tsw 2 rush hour was announced, whats peoples feelings about this? mine is, meh its just more passengers and yellow signals
Hope it's just an add on as opposed to another game you would have to buy and end up having to redownload all the add ons again like in preserved collection
So, is it a new game or add-on because I don’t want having to redownload all the add-ons like in Preserved Collection too.
Sounds like its a core update. Maybe there all add in the extra services to bakerloo line. And that Glasgow route maybe is part of it as well. But this leads to the question how is that possible. xbox one , ps4 cant handle extra services that well or AI because takes up memory.
This could be a lot of fun on the German routes (PZB). Currently I like to experiment (bi-directional platforms, single track branches, sticking train in front of you) with scenario designer but it has its limitations.
They announced it as a new mode. There is another mode pertaining to steam if I’m correct. This sounds great to be honest, challenging and new!
It's really just personal disinterest in my case: I can't stand driving commuter rail, so macht nichts.
Gut feeling? New timetables a la Diesel Legends but spanning the rush hour period. So same number of services but crammed into a 4 hour slot not spread over a day. Free core update, new route (Cathcart?) and rush hour timetables for the non-preserved routes £25.
Rush Hour is this Summer's TSW2 release, it will include new routes and Locomotives and will need to be paid for. The core updates will appear alongside Rush Hour. It will contain updates to features. This will be available for free.
The question is, will they be able to implement more passengers in the core game? Is this a separate mode because they were unable to add more passengers to the already released routes in the core game?
Probably more of an optimization issue. Passenger density is a variable setting in the game engine, but to date they have kept it at its lowest setting (1) for fear of overburdening consoles and older PCs (it can be changed with an engine.ini command, on PC). It's easy enough to increase the value if they think they can do it without a slowdown.
Maybe is a next gen upgrade? With the power of them they cold make the platforms look alive, add more npc trains. Just bring the world to life more??
I’m hoping that it’s has a longer route such as East Coast Mainline in to London, looking forward to the announcement and making a judgement then, as always the routes keep improving as the developers learn and develop new ways of doing things. High hopes for this and I think it will deliver this time
However, will previous content remain compatible with both? Or will we have to "preserve" everything yet again, dealing with new bugs, waiting for DTG to import them, fix them etc? Or will "Rush Hour" be just an upgrade of the base TSW 2 game, just like 2020 was for the original TSW? Will we have to start progress again (driver levels, achievements etc) or can we continue the current base game? This is getting confusing now. I'm starting to lose track of what I should buy to continue playing.
No , it will be an update for all consoles , last gen and next gen . If it was next gen only we would already have been told
But that's the point. Driving is more than opening up the throttle and letting rip. The more yellow, doubles and reds the better.
