    1)agreed.

2)debatable, add in another branch going off & then you’d have to decide what to take away, that time was spent somewhere.

3)390 is just a loco DLC, this route was developed for the 350 & local traffic, not the Avanti runs. Again though, you extend that far, then decide what you’d cut out of the DLC to make the time for it.

4)it’s a whole other train, so would be another DLC, and considering that the majority of Avanti Traffic are 390’s, that’s a better loco DLC to start with.

No you're right. I've got no idea why Matt talking about the new game needs to be shot like they're interviewing him for a documentary. The whole thing just feels like generic PR rubbish.

It should feel like a team of developers being genuinely excited to show us their work, but it comes across as insincere, to me anyway.

I own the Suffragette line. Will the 710 be playable during early access? I play on an Xbox Series X

Thank you wondering whether it’s worth me waiting till the main release date to play WCML. Not sure if not having the 710 till release is immersion breaking to an extent?

It’s 4 trains an hour in each direction, so it’s fairly busy traffic on the sides of the mainline. I’ll still be playing in EA but it’s certainly going to be noticeable.

Don't you get the whole lot when early access begins now? Unless that applies to Steam only?

This is described in the TSW5 FAQ:

"What will be available during Early Access?

During early access you will have access to the full game, including everything in your chosen bundle (Deluxe/Special). For the first time, Steam players will have the opportunity to download their Compatible Content during Early Access".

So it means that we will have everything from early access from what I understand...

I know it explicitly mentions steam for TSW5. So Xbox and PlayStation also? Did we get compatible content during early access in previous years?

No I've gotten every early access we have not been able to access older content.

This is the 1st time for Steam only. Not Xbox or PS

Which means for console users you won't be able to drive the Lioness Line until full release. Or have full layers on the DB route if the loco is not included with the route until full release on the 17th.

Oh no don't promote taking over trains, isn't that against most licensors agreements?

    The Class 350 Scenarios are:
    • Service Savior, where you’re required to step in to drive the 350 in the absence of a driver.

It states that PS and XBox users will have access to content that is within their bundle during early access so that should mean that if you buy the deluxe or special edition, you should have everything (routes and locos) that is within said package.
This should mean that on consoles the class 710 is available on WCML south if you buy the bundle which contains the Suffragette/Goblin line.
This should also mean that any layers from outside the bundles (locos/stock from different routes) won't be available on console until full launch on the 17th.

For me I won't I am only getting the deluxe version. The price is fine for 3 routes and 2 locos (I already own Cajon Pass)

But I can't justify the special edition since I own all the routes in the game no need to re-purchase them.

But yes everything that is included in the special you will get if you order that.

But its only for 5 days anyways once the 17th hits everything you own/redownload will be there.

It’s a joke from DTG, that Steam got all and we Need to wait, even if you own the Routes from
    the Special Edition

Ahh this is interesting. So if I paid for the special edition in early access I could have the 710. I own it anyway… so I obviously won’t be buying it twice. So surely it should be straightforward for Dovetail to allow the 710 to work during early access if we already own it?

We only have to wait until the actual release date of the game which is better than previous years when the content came out in batches on the Playstation over a series of weeks. It’s only a few days to wait.

I’d actually prefer it if there wasn’t any early access on any platform and there was just a release day with everything available for everyone but the early access thing must be a great marketing tool for games companies that do it. I don’t see the point in it myself other than it can potentially be used as an extra layer of beta testing from a wider (paying) audience but I’m not sure DTG use it that way.

I’ll just play a small selection of test services in the new content during early access and wait for the rest of my content before playing properly. I’ll play my existing routes in TSW4 in the meantime.

I hate the whole Early Access pre-order stuff, clearly it’s ready for release, you’re just delaying it for money.

In terms of content though, I think this year is better because there’s more base trains in the packs, across them all you have nearly all the layers just with deluxe. It’s a shame about the 710 because it will add a fair bit of traffic, but it’s going to be much better than say ECML was in EA.

We’ll have to wait and see the content of the scenario, but I got the impression it was a driver on standby doing a service for a driver who was absent

Looking at how the Class 377 will only be drivable from Watford Junction to Wembley Central. One can only suggest it will be set in the present 2024 timetable. If it was a pre-2019 timetable, we would've had the Southern services extending to Milton Keynes as they used to run there pre-covid.

1, Yep, there's only so many times you can update an old asset, give us something new.

2, A branchline would be nice but it's not something that can be done quickly and it's hard work. It's not lazy.

    3, Yeah, 30
Not really, a fair few scenarios have you taking over a service because of no driver

If that was the case we wouldn't be allowed to drive trains full stop.

I remember that last year a number of bugs experienced by early access players were patched in time for the standard release date. While it would be better to release bug free, at least this way any show stoppers / quick fixes can be patched very quickly.

Hopefully DTG rewards any staff who will end up working the Early Access weekend.

So why did LNWR pull the licensing on the 350 specifically then. It was the reason for the delay in LIRR because someone hijacked a train in NY.

There could be many reasons why. Might not even be because of anything to do with TSW for all we know.
