It seems like 3rd parties bring us more suprpise than DTG in this roadmap. The biggest surprise is the ATS route, Manchester Airport Commuter, those screenshots look awesome and I hope that 390 would be layered into it to provide more service diversity. But since it's a rather short route with reused rolling stock, I think ATS is focusing on scenery. And the expansion of the Sprinter timetable looks good too, hope that can make Glasgow QS and Edinburgh Waverley busier. As the Rivet content, at least the screenshots look good.

We can expect more fixes and improvement of WCMLS, but I think DTG can and should do more, WCMLS in such level is totally unacceptable.

At least with the MBTA route, DTG has GEVO recordings, as the HSP-46 uses a GE GEVO-12, which is pretty much used in every ES44 ever produced. So DTG doesnt have a sound excuse to not make more ES44 models.

Any thoughts on what routes the Cargo Line Volume 3 will layer onto? The screenshot looks like WCML, but do you think we will get GWE and MML like Vol 1 and 2?

US Freight Routes are terrible and boring.
We don’t need another Route by DTG, plus it’s Sell pretty bad, thats Why they stop This Routes.

Dovetail can only Milk California, New York, and Boston so many times before everyone gets sick of them.

Then what? DTG can try and find another operator, but if not? They can still fall back on US freight routes for content.

Plus I don't have very high hopes for High Iron Simulations to be the "Savior" of US freight in TSW, their offerings on TSC are already controversial being terrible sounding, looking, and cut and paste. Something DTG on TSW does really well is modeling when they get their stuff right. Its just when they don't do it correctly, does it fall apart.

I’m a long time Railworks/Train Simulator player. I haven’t bought a DLC since New York-Trenton and have been underwhelmed by the new US passenger routes, but I periodically check into these roadmaps to see if there’s any new US freight content coming. I wonder how many people there are like me that started with CSX Heavy Haul, but ditched TSW and are patiently waiting on the sidelines for a comeback to US freight..

What about the Cologne-Aachen update? I thought it would be released very soon.

I understand it takes time but more annoyed that we are still having to wait a bit more longer for a Big WCML Patch but talking to DTG Liam About it on the discord said it does take time and totally understand why so at least we know they are coming, just matter having to wait longer for the route to be given its true potential.

One thing to remember about this (and the GWE Remaster as well) is that they’re being developed by one dev in their spare time (whether this is company time or private time, we do not know for sure) so it is impossible to put a deadline or a release date onto them. They’re done when they’re done, and they can move from TBD to Release very quickly.

Roadmap was a little underwhelming but expected after the hype for TSW5 starts to die down. Just Trains and ATS routes are looking super interesting and hopefully not far away, perhaps at the tail end of the month. Disappointing to see nothing new for GWE remaster, a few new screenshots would really have whet the appetite or even a few words but sadly nothing for now.

Nothing really to get excited about here. TSW5 launch was pretty poor. Both WCML & FF need fixes & then content enhancements for WCML. Hard to get excited about anything from DTG if that’s the tone they’ve set for this year.

Third Parties are looking good at least, but alas limited details mostly, why the TSG route is still under wraps is abit daft when it’s in the 0-3month cat. ATS route will be interesting to see what sort of quality they’ll be bringing, I agree with the consensus that not going to Crewe is a huge miss, but on the other hand I’d rather that, than pulling a Rivet & doing more than they can handle. Hopefully some rolling stock DLC is on the horizon for this one, lots of opportunities for other MU’s here.

Ultimately DTG needs to get into high gear and make the core routes right, then I’ll be excited about what comes next.

I honestly assume they need to sell a bit more TSW5 standard or deluxe packs before showing the new TSG route for example. Otherwise the excitment for that would be much higher then for FF for example.

I'm mostly looking forward to the TSG route and of course what JT is coming up with.

But for now I would be happy if we see fixes, it just takes too long. Especially when we compare the state at release of TSW5 and its contents compared to 3 and 4.

Only other state I can think of with commuter rail is Florida with Brightline and Sunrail. I don’t keep up but have they tried with those 2 operators before?

Is there railway somewhere in Florida with nice scenery? I would still like to see some form of the pacific surfliner in TSW. As someone from Europe, I think it would catch the attention of international crowd because of the scenery along the coastline.
But Matt has stated on another thread that they can´t get license for surfliner :/

There’s SunRail which is a commuter rail that runs from Poinciana through Orlando to DeLand. There’s also BrightLine that runs from Orlando to Miami that runs up to 125mph.

    Here’s SunRails route map: https://sunrail.com/maps-schedules/map/

The English routes have already got 2 Cargo DLC's, and now 2 new Cargo DLC's for English routes are shown again !

Why can't you build a cargo or freight car DLC for German routes?
I'm sure many users would be happy about that.

Yes thats true, dont forget its a very busy time period for DTG now after the release, since the priority is focused on the kickoff meeting for TSW6.

No time left for investing too much effort into an "old cup of coffe".

Did the roadmap stream bring up anything regarding the 104? Which hasn't been mentioned again. I hope we don't lose that piece of content

    Thankyou for that!
Shame it seems to have disappeared from 1-3 months earlier in the year to the mentioned black hole. Worrying indeed.

This! But not because its US, its the missing variety. Good routes need a mix (commuter, long distance, freight).

ATS Manchester route, class 323 doing the northern services, skyhooks 158 doing Stockport to Manchester Piccadilly, WCML 390 doing Wilmslow to Manchester Piccadilly, ofc 66 freight services does make it a busy route. Hopefully ATS goes down the chat moss route to bring the 185 into tsw as transpennine is a nationalised company

Even thought I live in the UK I think US routes are becoming my favourites.
San berdino is an excellent route and I'm very much looking forward to the new MTBA route. What I am hoping is that layers from these new routes will be ported into the older routes ie Antalop Valley and Boston Sprinter etc to give a proper mix of traction on these routes and not just the two new ones.

I don't think there is a German 3rd party that is interested in doing that. Skyhook is based on the uk i think so makes sense to focus on there

In the same way, someone could say that DTG is also from Great Britain and has no interest in making German tracks ..... that's probably not the right argument

Have to say the route is a bit lonely, without the 158.For me until 158 receives the new livery plus the the update timetable to Levan,i did not see it as good value for money.
Now it's worth the asking price.
I know not everyone can throw money at Tsw every month.
Rivet don't seem to add value other than a single new piece of rolling stock. And from forum posts, barely use the option of bug fixes and updates.Levan was a big positive from Rivet.
Don't mind the 170 other than Rivets lackluster sounds and sometimes odd feeling physics.
If you have Fife ,all it really needs is some appropriate a.i. added, unfortunately I have no association with any developers.
Rivet if you ever wander the lanes of this forum; what do you think?

    It kinda is.

DTG are the 'whole game' and software owner, so they have a duty on diversity and covering the whole player base.

Third parties will only be covering their area of expertise.

I expect ATS and JT will likely only do UK routes, just as Skyhook. The cost to travel and knowledge base of doing US or German for them is a non starter.
In the same way I don't expect Iron Horse will do UK or German. Stick to what you know.

You need German third parties to get on board to create content. That's on them to engage with DTG and put themselves forward.

I'm sure DTG would love another 10 or so 3rd party developers creating content. It keeps people engaged if you have new DLC launching every 2 to 4 weeks.

that's fine, I meant it in a general way, there are third parties that can do German addons ..... such as BR 218, there will also be a map, etc ... there is hope, and it would work .. .. :)

it'd be kinda kool to get that in the game/simulator, but unless my memory serves me wrong, is that getting a license from these transit companies is not very easy? Because some of them won;t even allow anyone to take photos or record their sounds?

    #ledrool :)))

excited about upcoming updates, tho I havent seen any mention of that AFB bug I mentioned in like 1-2 threads - on ICE-T, when you are under LZB supervision and have AFB on, if it brakes for you (upcoming speed restriction, red signal etc.) or if you lower AFB limit, it locks throttle, as if you braked manually using train brake (also ICE 3 / 403 RBW version does this)... if you have a train in front of you, so LZB slows you down a couple times, that means a lot of annoying situations where you have to reset the throttle

filed a support ticket for this, will see if they do sth about it... or if they provide an explanation that this is somehow prototypical of ICE-T... or I can drive without AFB :D (which would kinda suck in this case)

as for 114, will wait until ppl confirm the brakes are usable... such a shame tho that 112's brakes also behave very erratically

but - looking forward to new routes, the unknown DE route (always loving new German and Austrian content), the Boston Commuter...

The image of the sound recording of the US loco looks very promising in terms of quality sounds. Is a GP40mc one from the locos in front the MBTA HSP46? have you recorded the prime mover in those , for updating the SD40-2 sounds ? it would be wonderfull

Have you noticed the size of the TSW5 when installed ?
It is more than 500 GB!
I would like to know why is soo big?!

I changed some months ago from PS4 to PS5, in order to have more power and space.

Now after installing all my previous DLC from older TSW,, I am now almost without free space!
Considering new TSW5 DLC be adding, I already have no space from them at all.

Have you experiencing this with this platform?

Look for your comments and situation about it.

If it’s more than 500gb then you’ve got things installed you don’t need. Even with all DLC the install is 200-300gb.

l have had to have two extra hard drives installed. One TB for TSW and a 2TB for TSC. Every update and route takes up more space. Will soon be buying another hard drive for all the 2025 content.

Do not buy a computer with less than 1TB

This is likely down to the confusing and broken way TSW5 handles the DLC installation. Look for duplicate installations on your storage. For some reason, TSW5 likes to install both the TSW4 and TSW5 versions of a DLC (they appear the same visually but only one - the TSW5 version - is needed), thereby doubling installation size unnecessarily.

    Thanks for your comment.
    Yes it is really strange.

    But I selected to install:

    - First TSW5 only.
    - Then, all the previous DLC - now the indicated as "TSW5 compatible" ones on PS Store- I had previously.

As I had done with previous TSW versions.
