Let's jump in! Upcoming Releases West Coast Mainline Trent Valley: Milton Keynes - Crewe - Releasing Tomorrow, June 9th! Strap in and prepare to tear up this 108-mile highspeed thrill ride in what is the longest UK route ever produced for Train Sim World, courtesy of All Aboard Studios, releasing tomorrow, June 9th 2026, from 9am UTC on consoles, 15:00 UTC on Epic Games, and 17:00 UTC on Steam! Watch our West Coast Main Line Trent Valley preview livestream, joined by the All Aboard Studios team, and learn more about the new add-on below: Speed was built into the Trent Valley line since its inception back in September 1847. It opened to provide a more direct route from London to the North West of England, completely bypassing Birmingham. It initially ran with limited local passenger and goods trains in the October before opening to all through traffic by early December of that year. As part of the British Rail modernisation plan, the Trent Valley line was electrified in the 1960s which allowed for high-speed trains to grace the line with their presence. Following further modernisation works in the 2000s, this allowed for the likes of the Pendolino to go full-beans; reaching speeds of up to 125mph. The Trent Valley line is by far and away the longest point-to-point UK route to appear in a Train Sim World game to date - a whopping 108 miles stretching from Milton Keynes to Crewe. Throw the Evero into the mix and you've got a recipe for an hour-long sprint, tilting and weaving as you go. Speaking of which... Avanti West Coast BR Class 807 Evero The latest innovation of the AT300 fleet, the Evero entered into service in October 2024, replacing Avanti West Coast's Class 221 Super Voyager. Powered via 25 kV 50 Hz AC overhead electrification, this 182 metre-long bolt of lightning can hit speeds of up to 125mph. It also includes a regenerative braking system that harvests energy when the brakes are applied, improving efficiency on this high-speed route. Not that you would notice all of this going on outside as the interior boasts spacious and ergonomic seating, enhanced legroom, and noise reduction measures to ensure a quieter journey - like sitting on a very fast cloud. BR Class 350/4 The Class 350/4 is a high-performance subclass of the Class 350, built for 25 kV AC overhead electrification and designed to handle both regional and intercity work with ease. A regular sight on the West Coast Main Line, the Class 350/4 offers comfortable seating and first-class accommodation for longer journeys. This thing is no slouch either, with a top speed of 110 mph, it’s just as capable stopping at local stations across Warwickshire and Staffordshire as it is stretching its legs and gunning it on faster runs between Stafford and Crewe. Timetable and Service Layers There are 478 total playable services available in timetable mode, but once you factor in AI, you’re looking at 2,301 layers in total. The add-on introduces a range of scenarios such as recovering failed trains and operating in poor weather conditions with realistic dialogue when communicating with the signaller. All Aboard Studios will share a detailed breakdown of layers and service patterns in their own Dev Diary. But to whet your whistle for what’s to come, here are the add-ons required to add more playable and AI services to the timetable: Avanti West Coast Class 390 Pendolino Avanti West Coast Class 805 Evero CrossCountry Class 220 Voyager (2x services, plus AI at Stafford & Tamworth High Level BR Class 350/2 and /3 (Birmingham - Crewe) BR Class 350/1 (Euston – Milton Keynes) DRS Class 66 (Engineering Express Pack) DB Class 66 (Euston – Milton Keynes) Rail Head Treatment Train ROG Class 37 Northern Class 323 Wolverton Works run & Crewe AI (Glossop Line) TFW Class 150/153 ECS moves & AI (Cardiff City Network) EMT Class 158 Express Sprinter (Midland Main Line) WMR Class 170s at Nuneaton XC Class 170s at Nuneaton and Tamworth High Level Cargo Line Petroleum used for AI freight through Tamworth High Level Cargo Line Aggregates used for AI freight through Nuneaton Train Sim World 6: West Coast Main Line Trent Valley: Milton Keynes - Crewe will release 9th June for Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, Epic Games Store, and Steam for £32.99 / €39.99 / $44.99. Content Up Ahead Freightliner Class 70 & Wascosa MLA Wagon from All Aboard Studios AABS: "All Aboard! It’s time for our first detailed deep dive into the BR Class 70 Freightliner Loco, and it’s a PowerHaul of a deep dive into what will release with the Add-on!" "Built by General Electric Transportation and introduced from 2009, the Class 70 brings modern freight muscle to the game. Delivered in Freightliner’s striking PowerHaul livery, this locomotive stands out on the network with its bold, high impact design and unmistakable presence. With 3,700 horsepower on tap and built for heavy haul duties across intermodal and aggregate flows, it’s a machine designed to perform and it feels every bit as strong from the driver’s seat. From long intermodal consists to heavy engineering trains, the Class 70 is built to keep things moving under pressure." "Paired with the Class 70 locomotive are the Wascosa MLA wagons, adding a whole new layer to freight gameplay. Designed for ballast, aggregate and engineering materials, these wagons take you beyond standard runs and into the world of real railway operations from day to day workings to complex possession moves. Whether you’re delivering materials into a worksite or clearing spoil from engineering works, the MLA wagons bring a more hands on, operational feel to freight." "This is all about variety across multiple timetables, with over 100 driveable services available on release. You’ll get stuck into 41 of these services on WCML Trent Valley operating a variety of Intermodal, JNA & MLA wagon runs, with even more across London Euston to Milton Keynes and Birmingham to Crewe (Evero Timetables Only). There’s also additional gameplay on the upcoming Thames Valley branch from Incredible Trains, with the Class 70 also set to substitute into the Mildmay line upon the extension release, giving the Class 70 a strong presence across multiple routes (Find out more on these two add-ons further on in the Roadmap)." "However, the gameplays major highlight is a brand new timetable for Skyhook Games’s excellent Midland Mainline route, Derby, Nottingham to Leicester. Expect more freight, more traffic, and more to do, with added services and extra layers including the Class 220 Voyager and Class 170 to bring the route to life. A further 20 plus Class 70 services are driveable on this brand new timetable." "You’ll also take on 8 engaging scenarios, including engineering works at Derby where precision shunting, tight movements and busy possessions put your skills to the test. Add in triple header runs and night time operations, along with aggregate loading at Mountsorrel, whether it's in timetable mode or the scenarios there’s plenty to master." "Powerful, versatile and packed with gameplay, the Class 70 and MLA Wagon is set to deliver one of the most varied freight experiences yet and we’ll have more to show very soon." West Coast Mainline: Crewe - Preston from Just Trains - Coming Soon! Just Trains share their final development update for Crewe Preston as we build towards release, diving into of the timetable and sharing a full timelapse video! JT: "From high speed intercity express services between Euston and Glasgow to the mundane 45mph loaded MGR workings, you will find it all in our Crewe-Preston timetable. From Crewe, where you'll see comings and goings from the various depots and yards broken up by regular stopping expresses, whilst non-stop trains roar through the station at high speed. The hustle and bustle of this Railway Centre is well captured with all 6 approaches having their own unique services, not only do you see the services from the WCML but you will also see other loco hauled services should you own the required stock. Behind Crewe station you will regularly see and hear Freightliner trains as they scuttle beneath the West Coast Main Line via the Independent Line tunnels. If you're really lucky you might even see a Class 47/3 clambering up the bank to head the Freightliner service to Holyhead!" "Fancy a bit of lighthearted train spotting?! Away from the stations such as Crewe we have provided a number of extra spawn points aimed solely at train spotting, including Winwick Junction, Golborne and Weaver Junction, from each of these vantage points you'll be able to sit and while away the time as the West Coast Main Line of 1986/7 unfolds before your eyes, if only the smells of hot oil and exhaust could accompany such sights!" "Fancy something totally different ? We've got you covered! Try some of the more wacky workings, we've got the early morning Class 08 fuel swap from Preston Ladywell Sidings to Wigan Springs Branch for anyone wanting to drive a "Gronk" on the West Coast Main line for a prolonged distance! A full track bash railtour is also included with the timetable for those who own Preston to Carlisle and Crewe to Preston, this working lasts around 12 hours and visits each of the branch lines and terminals, of which there are many!" "Enjoy this timelapse footage showing the timetable that is included with the Crewe - Preston route. This fully featured timetable sees us recreate the West Coast Main Line and its surrounding branches as they appeared during the 1986-1987 Working Timetables and Trip Notices." We'll share more information soon, and for those looking for details on the entire development process so far on the Just Trains West Coast Main Line: Crewe - Preston Blog! And those of you who love diving into the specific and history, Just Trains have also shared a full WCML: Crewe-Preston Route Manual you can view online!
BNSF GP60M & GP60B Loco from High Iron Simulations - Coming Soon! We're getting very close to the release of High Iron Simulation's next release, and bringing you all brand-new US freight power across the Cajon Pass, San Bernardino and Sherman Hill routes. HIS: "The BNSF GP60M will be included “as built” and with “-3 rebuild” controls. And it will be joined in the pack by its cabless sister, the GP60B, and modern articulated “spine” intermodal car. The services timetable features over sixty end-to-end mainline runs, and cement train services operate between San Bernadino, Victorville, Oro Grande, and Barstow. The Barstow switching layer from the Cajon Pass timetable is included." "Union Pacific services are recreated as a layer for owners of the Sherman Hill route. These include eight end-to-end runs via trackage rights over the BNSF and eight shorter runs on the UP’s Palmdale Cutoff." "Along with this robust services timetable, the pack will feature four scenarios on the Cajon Pass route and four bonus scenarios on the San Berdandino route. Together, the scenarios deliver experiences ranging from hustling priority intermodal traffic across Cajon Pass to challenging industry switching duties on the San Bernardino route." Southern Pacific Ore Lines: Hayden Branch from High Iron Simulations With its BNSF GP60M Loco pack nearing release, the HIS team is still hard at work on completion of its first TSW route – the Southern Pacific Ore Lines – which will recreate the Southern Pacific’s Hayden Branch in Arizona. Let's give a full recap of what you can expect with this route for US Freight fans, alongside the latest information and new development screenshots: Legendary for its heavy-haul and tough railroading amid dramatic Western desert scenery, Southern Pacific’s Hayden Branch linked the sprawling open-pit copper mine at Ray, Arizona, to copper smelter and mill facilities at Hayden, Arizona. The ~20 tortuous route miles between Ray and Hayden served as a 24/7, always bustling artery over which the railroad lugged millions of tons of copper ore from mine to mill, and, in return, hauled finished copper metals outbound. The Hayden Branch connected at Ray Junction with the remainder of the Southern Pacific system via SP’s Tucson Division. The TSW route will be set circa 1980 as a Southern Pacific line (today, the railroad is the regional Copper Basin Railway). Among the features of the upcoming route will be: The route wending its way along the Gila River and through Western “cactus country” of the Sonoran Desert from Ray via Ray Junction to Hayden. The route climbs over grades of up to 2 percent with track speeds to 30 miles per hour. Authentic re-creation of the sprawling open-pit copper mine and adjoining servicing facilities at Ray, Arizona. Detailed re-creations of the mill, smelter, yard, and unloading facilities at Hayden. The route will include a wealth of authentic new equipment including: Southern Pacific’s Electro-Motive GP35 diesel road-switcher and Southern Pacific C30-4 bay-window steel caboose. Distinctive and interactive Magor-built ore-hauling gondola, 43-foot acid tank car (sulphuric acid being a byproduct of copper smelting), and Southern Pacific 56-foot anode flat car (for outbound ore ingots). Bringing the Hayden Branch – and its remarkable operating challenges – to life will be an extensive range of timetabled services and scenario-based gameplay, including: Several round trips of loaded 6,000-ton copper-ore train movements from Ray mine to the Hayden unloader and empty trains making the reverse run to the mine. One round trip of the “Unit train” delivering sulphuric acid from the smelter to the mine and returning with empty tank cars and copper ore concentrate loads. Complex loading and unloading duties at Ray and Hayden. Hours of switching and transfer movements around the sprawling Hayden smelter. Mainline transfer runs from Hayden to Ray Junction, including assembling and breaking up the mainline train at Hayden Yard. Interchange operations with the neighboring San Manuel Arizona railroad. The upcoming Southern Pacific Ore Lines promises to deliver a diverse and challenging heavy-haul, round-the-clock railroading experience! Thames Valley Branches from Incredible Trains We announced Thames Valley Branches from Incredible Trains during the May 2026 Roadmap which covered some basic information on the branches and the stations across the route. Today, we're thrilled to have even more information from Incredible Trains, but this time it's for the Thames Valley Branches! Johannes has an in-depth update on the route's development, so let's jump right in. Johannes: "As development on the Thames Valley Branches continues, I wanted to highlight some of the features and technologies that are helping make this one of the most immersive projects I have worked on for Train Sim World. From the very beginning, the focus of this project has been authenticity, atmosphere, and detail." "A major design decision was to develop the Windsor, Henley, and Marlow branches as three independent, self-contained lines. Because the services on these branches naturally operate independently, connecting them through the Great Western Main Line would not have significantly expanded gameplay possibilities and would instead have recreated gameplay already available on Great Western Express." By separating the branches, I was able to dedicate far more of the available performance budget towards scenery density, environmental detail, and route immersion. Operationally, the route offers a varied and realistic timetable: Windsor services operate every 20 minutes Henley services run every 30 minutes Marlow services run hourly, increasing to every 30 minutes during peak times Every service starts and finishes within the respective branch itself, accurately reflecting real-world operations. "One of the most exciting additions is the implementation of the fully interactable token system on the Marlow branch. This feature recreates the authentic working practices of the line and introduces a completely unique gameplay element rarely seen in Train Sim World." "A huge amount of development time has also gone into environmental immersion. For the first time in TSW, most houses across the route use parallax window technology to simulate detailed 3D interiors. This significantly enhances visual depth and transforms how towns and residential areas look during night operations." "The route world is also filled with animated and reactive detail, including moving river traffic and pigeons that scatter as trains or players approach." "Beyond that, there has been a strong emphasis on real-world authenticity through carefully recreated road signage and realistic local bus branding throughout the map." "The goal with all of these features is to make the route feel believable and lived in, not simply visually accurate." "The project has continued to make excellent progress, with ongoing work centred around polishing the route experience and refining the many smaller details across all three branches. I can’t wait to show more of what’s been coming together." Now that we've finished sharing the latest for the Thames Valley Branches, let's hear more about Incredible Train's continued work on the Mildmay Extension!
Mildmay line Richmond Extension from Incredible Trains Onto Incredible Trains; Johannes has provided an update on the upcoming Mildmay line Extension, including information on performance optimisation on the route to improve frame rates for the original routes as well as the extension. Johannes: "Work on the Richmond Extension has been progressing extremely well, and the project is now in a very strong state overall. Over recent months, a significant amount of development time has been dedicated not only to the extension itself, but also to improving the experience across the existing route as a whole." "A major focus has been performance optimisation. Extensive work has been carried out to improve overall frame rates throughout both the original route and the extension, alongside a large number of texture memory optimisations aimed at addressing blurry texture issues and improving visual consistency during gameplay." "These improvements have allowed the route to maintain it's high level of environmental detail while also delivering a noticeably smoother and more stable experience overall." "I’m also very pleased to confirm that TfL has kindly provided access to the original announcement audio files for both the Class 378 and the station announcement system. As a result, the Richmond Extension will feature authentic, officially licensed TfL train and station announcements throughout the route." "This is a feature I know many players have been hoping for, and it adds a huge amount of authenticity and atmosphere to the overall experience." "Development continues to focus on refinement, polish, and ensuring the route delivers the highest possible level of immersion and quality across the entire network." Thank you Johannes, we can't wait to share more in future updates! Schnellfahrstrecke Nürnberg - Ingolstadt from TSG We've also checked in with the TSG development team on their next route in development, and a few new screenshots of their progress since last month! This is the fastest ever German High Speed route, boasting an incredible 300km/h running speed with the ICE 3 and München-Nürnberg-Express. The route is famous for setting some speed records as with the Taurus achieving 357km/h on a test run! Enjoy the DB BR 101 with München Nürnberg Express wagons and cab car, as well as the DB BR 403 ICE 3 included on the route! Add-ons Still In Development As a nod to other projects in-development, we haven't got any updates to share this month for the below add-ons, but they are still progressing with their respective teams, and we'll aim to share more information when we have further updates! Cargo Line Vol.6 - Gas Tadami Line: Aizu Wakamatsu-Tadami BNSF Snoot Nose SD40-2 Lisbon - Setúbal Rhein-Niers-Bahn Cumbrian Coast: Carlisle - Whitehaven Neckartalbahn: Heidelberg - Neckarelz DB BR 420 State of the Game - June 2026 Updates & Key Improvements in Development This month, we wanted to provide a summary and reflection of our development on the core improvements and key systems we've been trackign since we released Train Sim World, and sharing thoughts and details on what we're doing next. Blurred Textures [Positive Learnings, Optimisation Ongoing] Our teams have been tackling optimisation as a priority since the plague of blurred visuals appearing in TSW starting occuring, especially impacting some specific add-ons more than others. We discussed in detail that multiple factors lead to texture quality dropping, usually forming from a combination of hardware memory limitations, optimisation efficiency and content implementation, and we've learnt over the last few months how to more effectively work to stricter limitations, either from our Dovetail team, or by working with our talented third-party development groups, and fundamentally sharing those learnings across the teams. To be clear, our work on bettering optimisation will remain a top priority, however, we're happy to have made progress, and many of our recent releases have proven that we can work to mitigate this issue. The goal remains the same, but moving forwards, we'll look at discussing other key topics in our State of the Game updates, and coming back to optimisation when we have larger updates and details to bring you. Add-on Mounting Optimisations [Ongoing] Our development into smarter content loading optimisations is continuing, but taking longer than we initially anticipated. It works in tandem is general optimisation updates, with the goal of lowering the sizes of dependant content with layered add-ons to avoid instances where certain content fails to load when crossing over these platform-based limitations. We'll aim to bring more news of these improvements when we've got details worth highlighting. Note from Senior Community Manager Alex: I'd like to keep exploring topics and discussions around the State of the Game, and ensure this is a segment we continue each month, so that we remain communicative and honest to you all across the community, and help bring you a clear insight into what priorities we're making for Train Sim World. Are there any topics you'd like to hear us discuss next? Feel free to comment on this Roadmap blog, via the Forums, Discord, or chat to us on the Roadmap livestream to share your thoughts! BR Class 90 - Joint Statement & Next Steps Last week we shared a joint statement with the ATS development team regarding the BR Class 90, with an apology for the quality of the add-on on its release, outlinging the missteps from both of our teams, and what processes we're changing to avoid this from happening again in future. We also provided a range of details about the updates you can expect, aiming to align with the June 16th update noted above. Here's a top-level summary of the changes ATS are aiming to make in this full Class 90 update: Safety Systems & Controller Bindings (AWS/TPWS/DSD) Overhauled Speed Set System Tandem Operations & Brake Logic Audio Adjustments & Loop Overhauls Testing & Optimisation, including core code optimisation to improve overall performance There will be more changes alongside these key areas, and we'll share the full patch notes alongside our update in mid-June. Moving Forward & Lessons Learned Both DTG and ATS remain fully committed to hearing your additional feedback following this update and ensuring that any remaining areas are identified and worked into subsequent updates if required. Whilst this development has been challenging for both ourselves and DTG - learning the finer details of Simugraph and Unreal Engine have been steps on this journey, and DTG have been reviewing the available documentation support and processes they can offer new developers - we believe the lessons we've learnt will make our future projects together stronger. We look forward both future improvements and Add-ons with all the above in mind. Thank you all for sharing your feedback, for holding us to account, and for your patience while we work to make this add-on right. June 2026 Roadmap Livestream Be sure to join us for our June Roadmap livestream tonight (June 8th 2026 starting at 7pm BST) on our YouTube and Twitch channels, hosted by Executive Producer Matt along with Senior Community Manager Alex, where they'll be discussing all of the details below, alongside answering top community questions.
Pretty much a copy and paste of May, nothing that we don’t already know about in terms of content. Core fixes dribbling around the edges and not really addressing the most commonly reported issues. Tadami, the BR 420 and now I think too the HIS freight line joins the list of content we will be unlikely to see before TSW9. Nothing new from DTG in terms of in house content, has all internal production capacity now collapsed or are they all busy with TSW7 stuff? Uninspiring.
No optimisations in the pipeline for Stuggart? The depot continues to tank the frame rate and the issues with the WiKo don't seem to end. All in all it looks like most of what's on the roadmap will release for TSW7 by now. We're in June already, vacation season is just up ahead and September is only 3 months away.
A bit "meh" honestly but I suppose at this point all the actual new stuff is being saved for the big announcement of tsw7... I have to say I am excited for a new MML timetable with AI trains actually existing and the XC services, although I am also quite mythed as to what happened to the gwr 387 (among a couple others too)
I'm liking the road details on the Thames lines. Nice that the 70 integrates with the MKC to Crewe West coast Mainline.
it's clear to me that the tadami line will come after TSW7 however, I wouldn't be sad if we at least had GP60M before TSW7 as those are the only two add-ons that interest me
Overall it's pretty "meh", the Trent Valley Line is coming tomorrow and an old dev blog of Preston-Crewe. The only thing I did find quite good to read up on is the Class 70, very good to hear that the MML is going to get some luvvin, and that the 70 is at least coming with those new wagons so will have "something" to do (given most FL 70s were on coal flows which have since stopped).
Wasn't expecting much. It's that time of the year again... Im glad we will get official audio from TfL for the Mildmay Line. However I expect any future TfL Line to also have the official audio announcements. Would have been nice if the Suffragete Line and Bakerloo Line got those official announcements too.
Ah it's finally open for my two cents I'll keep it short this time: The most uninteresting roadmap in a long time, from my point of view. I might be stepping on some toes here, but I'm just not interested in British rail... and there's basically nothing new said about anything else. Completely agreeing with Puddington Bear here, we're gonna see pretty much everything that's in the TBC section in TSW7, if even. And probably some of the 0-3 months stuff as well. Actually I wouldn't even mind that, as long as the manpower would go into fixing things instead, making better what's already there. I stand by my opinion, I'd rather have less new DLC if we could get more troubleshooting and improvements of the existing stuff instead
Very pleased to hear there'll be a new MML timetable - makes the 70 DLC more appealing to me. More of this sort of thing please.
Still zero acknowledgment that you and ATS misled the community about the scale of the issues of the class 90 and hoping we all forget that we was told it was simply a wrong build, no acknowledgment that a member of your community team was out of line labelling criticism of the class 90 release and telling paying customers that we was at fault for being unproductive and that we are making the team not want to fix a faulty product they sold us?
On the UK side of the pond the interesting routes for me are The Thames Valley Branches and Cumbrian Coast. On the US side, the Hayden Branch and Snoot Nose. But all of these seem so far away, I can't get in the least excited. Guess my " break " from TSW will continue.
The reverse at Bourne End on the Thames Valley Branches release is interesting. I think it's the first time in this game (TSC has this at Bere Alston on the Gunnislake Branch and Coombe Junction on the Looe- maybe more?). However, to accurately reflect real woirld operations, this should only be performed when in guard mode as obtaining the token and changing the points is one of their responsibilities. It's one of the main reasons there is a guard/ticket inspector on this line.
Happy to have a new timetable for MML. May I ask if the suspension for the Class 43 and 158 will be included in this update. Thanks
