I take it Scotrail 158 isn’t part of this update as it was mentioned at the end of July what roughly was coming into this patch reference is underneath TSW Next Core Patch - Coming Next Week (Early July) Hey folks - very quick update from me, we made a note in our patch last week that our next update was shifted from June 30th (today) into early July. I just wanted to make sure that this was clear to everyone, and what the goals of this update are. Cargo Line Vol 1 Petroleum Cargo Line Vol 2 Aggregates Cargo Line Vol 3 Intermodal Cargo Line Vol 4 Military Cargo Line Vol 5 Nuclear DB BR 218 Expert DB BR 101 ScotRail BR Class 158 Fife Circle Line & Levenmouth Rail Link Edinburgh - Glasgow Edinburgh - Glasgow: Engineering Express Pack
Good to see new services, more of that please! And nice to see the magic tunnel of Rheinland-Pfalz is no more.
Big question for the "Liberec - Stara Paka" route. As far as I remember there were one or multiple uncompletable scenarios. The one that comes into mind was the one with the 750 where the objective marker was spawning haywire. It does not appear in the patch notes as a highlighted item, either in the route or the 750 section, so can we assume it is not fixed in this round? And holy <censored> there are many minor updates that noone really nitpicky would notice for the route. Glad they are doing something about the crossings.
The patch notes mention that the Scotrail Class 170 has had guard mode added, except it already had guard mode...
"The Class 158 is not used because adding it would remove gameplay from players who only own Fife Circle. Substitution with the Class 170 is not an option because the 158 has two carriages, and the 170 has three." What?? Since when did you guys care about if people don't have dlc for a route. The class 158 runs on in this route in real life, so your taking gameplay away from everyone. Brain-dead decision, unless I'm not reading it right you have stuck two fingers up to Skyhook and said thanks for making the 158 but we ain't gonna bother putting it in!
I think this is a bit of an extreme reaction. The ScotRail Class 158 already comes with its own Fife Circle timetable, which is far from perfect to be fair, but that is Skyhook’s fault unfortunately. If they added the 158 to the new default Fife timetable, two bad things would happen: The service frequency would be ruined by huge gaps for everyone that doesn’t own the 158, and a major selling point of the 158 DLC — its own Fife timetable — would essentially be made moot. I guess the best solution would’ve been to add two variations of the new timetable (one with the 158, and one without), but I can definitely see why DTG/Rivet went with the decision they ended up taking.
Yes, exactly as was done for East Coastway. The principle is exactly the same, so I don't understand why that wasn't done here too.
After reading the patch notes, I must say I’m quite happy. I had huge expectations for the Edinburgh-Glasgow and Fife Circle updates, and the fact that they came with new timetables is a very cool surprise. I’ve never been super interested in the ScotRail Class 158, now I don’t have to buy that add-on just to enjoy additional rolling stock on both routes. The various improvements to the Cadder Depot/Yard area have me very intrigued. According to Google, this is where they maintain the ScotRail HSTs. Maybe we’ll finally see the HST add-on for those routes that was teased a while back? I would certainly be very interested in such a DLC, now that both routes have received a fresh lick of paint. On another note, I didn’t see a fix for the Class 385 wipers not wiping away the rain in the patch notes. I hope that has been taken care of nonetheless.
