DTG, if you've improved the core and optimisation of the game, YOUVE GOT IT IN THE BAG

Interesting that the 333 is the promotional flag boy for the Airedale route, but only comes with the deluxe edition of the game…

The English line is the one that interests me the most, with the fact that there are several branch lines and finally new trains for Northern.

I'm rather tired of the German line, but I was waiting the ICE4 (although I think it's a shame that it's only available in deluxe edition) and BR 440 piques my curiosity ; I'll have to see the gameplay.

As for the American route, it doesn't appeal to me because I'm not a fan of American routes, even if Morristown Line was a great surprise, so like german route wait and see gameplay

These are good features at least, but it's all stuff we really should've had for years by now, DLSS in particular I see no reason for its absence for so long. Safeties being on by default should've been a thing too from the start. I feel similar with live weather considering just how long flight simmers have had real time weather, and TS never needs a lot of the more complex stuff FS provides.

I will add, I really hope they don't intend on using DLSS & FSR as a crutch, the latter in particular is most useful at already high FPS. So hopefully there's hood under the good performance improvements to reduce stuttering and improve FPS from TSW5/6.

Lets hope its both, but since the ICE1 and ICE-T also only have 1 version I highly doubt it. They'll probaly already saving the 7-car variant as ''new train'' for a route based around NRW or Hannover.

i was slightly disappointed that medway didn’t have this, given how focused firefly were on realism. however i do remember virtual guards working on the expert 101, so its nice to see this rolled out as standard, although presumably only on new stuff with an inconsistent approach to which old stock gets it

Why...WHY would DTG go so far to leak their own game before the direct?

Is there something else? What are they doing??

Only the UK route interests me - can someone remind me if you can get the free starter pack and buy just the UK route / “deluxe” loco? I can’t remember what I did last year.

Still, I really hope this version of the 801 gets updated with newer features and isn't just a copy paste straight from TSW4s ECML 801

that shouldn’t be an issue, but you’ll likely have to buy the route and loco separately, which will cost £45 if pricing stays the same

As someone who works for NT and works on NT units, I am happy we’re getting more Northern stock, just Ashame it’s not a 195 but I’ll take a 331!

The Br440 is giving me hope that there will be a Br1440 with the upcoming Rhein-Niers-Bahn.

Kinda wild everything is just out there right now lol, now we’re gonna have to sit through tons of stuff we already know at the direct. :| ;)

    My two cents:

    Routes & Rolling Stock
    • Getting Florida in TSW was one of my biggest requests. This is gonna be amazing lol. Deluxe loco doesn’t do anything for me though.
    • The UK route looks interesting… but I’m a tad skeptical until we see more. Hopefully it has some standout things and isn’t too bland. Nice to see two new locos though (one of them part of the deluxe edition).
    • German route is great. Would’ve been so sad if the Nuremberg area was “wasted” by the disappointing TSG route, so I’m glad we’re seeing it again so soon. The included regional loco is amazing (it used to service my local line), and the ICE4 is very very nice to see — although putting it in the deluxe is a bit naughty haha.

    Features
    • If there really isn’t more than is mentioned in the Steam game description, that’s a huge disappointment. The new freight mode sounds interesting, especially for people like me who aren’t usually a fan of freight services. But I’m not sure how realistic it is… might just seem like a mode that should be in the Thomas game instead if the implementation isn’t good. And I doubt it’s a true core feature, possibly only a select number of new routes will be supported.
    • Live Weather is nice, but let’s see how well it works. It would need to dynamically adjust during a game session with smooth transitions to be usable at all.
    • Safety Systems by default is a cool addition, but will only help a relatively small amount of players.
    • New PC graphics options should not be named as a core feature lol, that’s such a nothing burger. They clearly ran out of things to list.

One more thing — why does the ultimate edition just include all the stuff from last year’s deluxe edition? That’s so disappointing… existing players have this content already, and new players will never spend so much money upfront on a game they don’t know. They should’ve just deleted the ultimate edition entirely, nobody is going to buy it.

There’s definitely enough of interest for me, especially since the UK route is going as far as Skipton/Rylstone. Freight out of Rylstone going back towards Leeds will need to swap ends, so that will add some gameplay.

It's true, when I saw that I was a little disappointed (well, I'm not buying the ultimate edition anyway) perhaps because TSW 6 had a lot of third-party DLC, making it impossible to create a proper ultimate edition (just theory)

is it fair to assume there's no remasters within TSW7? Seems as though they'll be later down the track now. Still hoping for a BML remaster at the very least so down south gets catered for

Okay, it's Boca Raton, not the Fort Lauderdale. But this is another route that ends halfway in between, because is enough for DTG. All Tri-Rail trains go to Mangonia Park.
DTG, really, couldn't you make it longer, ask for more time and money? Let this route be a little more expensive, but let it be complete, and not end at some random station when your odometer hits "enough" marker.

Yeah, pretty decent. The "Mops" (440) is nice; I hope the sound turns out well. The ICE 4 has been requested for a long time, so that's good too.

The Würzburg–Nürnberg route is great; I used to travel it often back in the days of the "Modus-Wagen" coaches. It's a shame those aren't included - they would have been perfect to run with the Class 111.

    But all in all, interesting.

Brightline is pointless, it'll just be a stub again. Boca Raton - Mangonia Park as a separate route - I don't believe it.

I feel like the ICE4 being a separate DLC is a good thing, I have no interest in the Nurnberg-Wuerzburg route but as long as I can drive the ICE4 on existing and future German DLC, I’m happy.

I actually think this is the case, as 3rd Party dlcs don't get heavily discounted like DTGs. Nonetheless, very underwhelming this year; this will most likely set a new precedent for future iterations

Probably on Nürnberg Ingolstadt. But I'm not sure how many new layers the ICE 4 will get, I'm hoping on everything it suits but I don't think they will do it

People are forgetting the best part of the Direct. Which hasn’t leaked. What the third party devs are working on. Particularly AAS.

Tri-Rail is an interesting choice, but a bit of a let-down with the route length. I'm not so sure why we couldn't go the full-length, yet I'm not entirely surprised either.

I'm going to reserve full judgement until I watch the Direct, but right now this is looking to be the first year I don't pre-order for the deluxe content stock. Even with the 10% discount, there just doesn't seem to be enough in the base game for it to be worth it for me.

it’ll layer into several routes if dtg actually utilises it properly, unlike how they did with the ICE T. it could go on:
    frankfurt fulda
    kassel wurzburg
    as you say, nürnberg ingolstadt
    dresden leipzig
munich augsburg (however this obviously won’t happen)

Yes, every stutter will now be logged, and the logs will be sent directly to the DTG. Stutter logging will require additional CPU capacity, which will increase the stutter duration by approximately 50%.
If there is no internet connection while the stutter is logging, the stutter will continue until a stable internet connection is restored (1 Gbps or higher).
