Train Sim World 7 is fast approaching!

Ahead of launch, we're taking a closer look at what you can expect across each of the three new core routes, digging deeper into the trains, timetables, scenarios and additional content that will bring each railway to life.

From the branching commuter network of Yorkshire to the busy mix of regional, ICE and freight traffic between Nürnberg and Würzburg, there's plenty waiting for you when Train Sim World 7 arrives.
And with Early Access beginning tomorrow, you won't have long to wait.

UK: Airedale & Wharfedale Network
With its three branches, two passenger operators, two freight branches, a large depot, and popularity for railtours, the Airedale and Wharfedale Lines timetable is packed with variety including several full end-to-end runs and features a complete freight flow, uncommon for modern UK routes.

Northern Across the Network
In this July 2025 timetable, the majority of trains on the route are Northern's fast and frequent electrics operating five service patterns:

• 2PXX | Leeds - Bradford Forster Square (57 services)
• 2HXX | Leeds - Skipton (72 services)
• 2VXX | Leeds - Ilkley (74 services)
• 2DXX | Ilkley - Bradford Forster Square (53 services)
• 2SXX | Bradford Forster Square - Skipton (53 services)

Trains do not operate “there and back” runs, with their diagrams instead often swapping between these service patterns throughout the day, meaning even if you stick with one train, after a few hours you’re likely to have traversed the entire network.



These services are operated by the sleek Class 331 and iconic Class 333, maintained at Neville Hill Depot east of Leeds. Once you're done with the day's last passenger service, drive to this sprawling facility for a pass through the train wash and a visit to the servicing shed. Other trains are stabled at a yard in Skipton, or right in the station at Leeds, Bradford, or Ilkley (there are approx. 34 empty stock movements).

Train allocation follows real-world diagrams, with one exception: Many of the Class 333 services are also available to be driven by the four-car Class 331/1, allowing players who don't own the 333 to have more gameplay. For accuracy, substitution of AI trains should pick the 333 if owned, as no four-car 331s were diagrammed to run in Leeds in the summer 2025 timetable.

LNER Azuma Services
Express LNER services also share the line, connecting Skipton and Bradford Forster Square to London with a reversal at Leeds (totalling 16 services). A number of empty coaching stock services are also playable across the route and at Neville Hill Depot. The Class 801 handles these services in 5, 9, and 10-car formations, and also represents the Class 800 on AI services to Harrogate.

The included Class 801 has been upgraded with sounds from the Riviera Line Class 802 and the real announcement source files supplied by LNER.



The Great British Railways Class 802 is available to substitute for Class 801 services, only if selected by the player; AI will always choose the LNER 801.

A Complete Freight Flow
The venerable Class 66 is included in red DB livery, along with the brand-new HYA Limestone Hopper wagon. Two formations shuttle back and forth on an aggregate flow between Rylstone Quarry, at the end of the freight branch that diverges at Skipton, and a concrete plant at Hunslet East, on a short branch line near Neville Hill Depot. Additional HYA formations work services which leave the modelled route.

We've also made the JNA aggregate wagon and PCA cement hopper available in core, allowing additional services with these wagons to be available to all players on an additional set of services.

Freight services are split into multiple parts as the driver must constantly change ends and run around their train to enter and exit the freight-only lines. There are also times where freight will sit in passing loops to wait for a later slot through the busy passenger flow.

Expand the Yorkshire Timetable
The majority of the playable gameplay on this route is included with the base route and Northern BR Class 333 available in Deluxe Edition. However, we've taken the opportunity to spice up the timetable for players who own or purchase additional add-ons:

• Railhead Treatment Train adds a full 5-part tour of the Skipton and Ilkley lines and some AI at Leeds.
• West Coast Main Line: Preston - Carlisle adds four services with the Class 08 shunting wagons at Rylstone Quarry and handling diesel fuel tankers at Neville Hill.
• Midland Main Line: Leicester - Nottingham and Derby adds a handful of HST services playable between Neville Hill Depot and Leeds, and a pair of ECS Class 158 services. The HST service in particular is anachronistic for 2025, but who can bear the thought of Neville Hill without any HSTs?! (As always, you can disable this layer in the Layer Selector menu).
• Tees Valley Line adds a number of services with the Class 37 including an icicle patrol that runs Neville Hill - Ilkley - Shipley - Neville Hill and an overnight railtour that runs Leeds - Ilkley - Bradford Forster Square - Leeds.
• Cargo Line Vol. 1: Petroleum adds a pair of oil trains playable between Leeds and Skipton.
• Northern Trans-Pennine and BR Heavy Freight Pack add a Class 40 railtour playable between Leeds and Skipton.
• West Cornwall Steam Railtour adds a Jubilee railtour playable between Leeds and Skipton.
• Flying Scotsman adds a Flying Scotsman railtour playable between Leeds and Skipton, and a Class 66 railtour that visits Rylstone Quarry and the concrete plant at Hunslet East.
• GWR HST Farewell Pack adds a HST railtour playable between Leeds and Skipton. Big thanks to Liam who made unbranded carriages just to represent this real tour better! It also adds static barrier coaches at Neville Hill Depot.
• West Coast Main Line: Crewe - Preston and BR Heavy Freight Pack adds a Class 40 and Class 47 top-and-tail railtour playable between Leeds and Skipton.
• CrossCountry BR Class 220 Voyager adds AI services at Leeds.
• Keighley Station includes two inaccessible platforms used by a five-mile heritage railway. This is modelled and the tracks populated by Mk1 static stock (no add-ons required).

Futureproofing
The timetable includes layers for two trains which have been announced but not released yet. As soon as you own the train, these layers will be playable, no update needed.

• All Aboard Studios’ Freightliner BR Class 70 provides a pair of railtour services and two engineering services, but can also be selected for substitution on all Class 66 services (except RHTT) should one be looking for a change in traffic. The Class 70 is uncommon on the Airedale and Wharfedale Lines in real life, so you won't see it on AI trains.
• Skyhook Games’ Northern BR Class 158 operates services to Carlisle and Morecambe, playable between Leeds and Skipton. These also provide quite a bit of AI traffic at Leeds.

Scenarios
Five Scenarios are included with the Airedale & Wharfedale route, and a further 3 with the Northern Class 333

Sunday Shuttle (Class 331): Weekend engineering works have cancelled the usual trains between Leeds and Bradford. Drive a shuttle service between Bradford and Shipley to bring passengers to a connecting service.
The Midnight Train from Platform Zero (Class 331): As the clock ticks closer to your midnight departure time, you can't help but feel something amiss. Drive this service from Leeds to Bradford, if you dare…
Calling in a Favour (Class 801): Another train has failed and you’ve been asked to take its passengers. Drive from Skipton to Leeds making local stops.
Wagon Trouble (Class 66): A wagon on your train has failed. Deliver it to the depot for repairs, then finish your trip, driving at reduced speed.
Digital Detox (Class 331): The leading cab of your train has had an electrical failure and you cannot continue like this. Turn your train on the Shipley triangle and finish the service driving from the other cab, then take the train to the depot for repairs.
Call to Depot Duty: Spend the morning at Neville Hill TMD as a Depot Driver, preparing and delivering trains for service.
Divine Diversion: Take control of a service running a shortened diverted service around the Airedale and Wharfedale Lines.
Railway Roll Call: It's always a great day for trainspotting! Grab your camera and notebook, and enjoy a day out taking pictures and spotting as many trains as you can.
Look Beyond the Rails

As you're driving, keep an eye out for track workers in orange high-vis standing beside the line. They're safely clear of the track, but you're supposed to sound the horn as you approach. Don't bother memorising their locations, though, because their work takes them to around 100 hand-placed spawn locations. You'll also spot their work vans parked at track access points.

Station cats live at some stations, and for the first time in Train Sim World, they are now pettable! All of our cats have nametags and are based on real cats beloved by our developers. See if you can find all eight, but be warned that they move indoors when it rains and disappear at night to prowl.



Seasonal decorations have been added to some stations, including strings of multi-coloured lights in December and pumpkins in October. We'll let you hunt for the one station where somebody builds a snowman every time it snows.
Finally, after dark on Bonfire Night (5 November) will find many towns along the railway celebrating with fireworks displays!

Germany: Bahnstrecke Nürnberg - Würzburg
Bahnstrecke Nürnberg - Würzburg brings together regional passenger trains, S-Bahn traffic, ICE services and a substantial freight timetable across more than 100 km of German railway.
With 717 total services, the route is designed to feel busy from Nürnberg to Würzburg, with a wide variety of included and layered rolling stock sharing the rails.

Regional, S-Bahn and ICE
The new DB BR 440 takes centre stage on regional passenger duties.
Its primary role is the RE10, operating between Nürnberg Hbf and Würzburg Hbf, with some shorter RE10 workings running between Würzburg and Kitzingen. There are 40 full-length and 19 shorter RE10 services, as well as various empty stock movements.
The BR 440 also operates 44 RB53 services between Rottendorf and Würzburg, while additional AI appearances can be found around Würzburg Hbf.



The included DB BR 442 Talent 2 handles much of the S-Bahn timetable, alongside RE14, RE20 and RE28 services. Across the represented S1, S2, S6 and RE services, the DB BR 442 has 333 services in total.
For longer-distance journeys, climb aboard the included DB BR 401 ICE 1 and take on a handful of passenger services between Nürnberg and Würzburg.

There's some less conventional passenger traction to discover too.

A unique DB BR 193 Vectron and double-deck formation operates RE19 services between Fürth (Bay) Hbf and Nürnberg Hbf, adding another distinctive working to the timetable. By default these services are available with the DB Vectron, although the Railpool Vectron is also available on these services should you own it, representing the formations as per reality.

Freight Across Franconia
The DB BR 193 Vectron also forms the backbone of the core freight timetable, with a whopping 100 services available across a broad range of traffic, including:

• Intermodal
• Manifests
• Habbiins
• Tankers
• Cars
• Light locomotive moves

Many freight workings operate between Nürnberg Rbf Ausfahrt and Würzburg Hbf, while selected services take a different path via Nürnberg Jansenbrücke.



As per many German timetables in Train Sim World, other freight locomotives from your collection substitute into these services, including the DB and MRCE BR 185s, and even the ÖBB 1116.
The result is a timetable where long-distance passenger traffic, regional trains, S-Bahn services and freight are constantly interacting along the same corridor.

Deluxe Edition: ICE 4
Deluxe and Ultimate Edition players can expand the timetable with the new DB BR 412 ICE 4.
The ICE 4 operates an additional 32 ICE passenger services between Nürnberg Hbf and Würzburg Hbf, evensply split between the 12 and 13-car variants, alongside additional AI appearances at Nürnberg and Fürth.

It adds another generation of German high-speed traction to a timetable already featuring the ICE 1, while players with other compatible Add-ons can add even more ICE variety.



Expand Your German Timetable
A substantial collection of German Add-ons can add additional playable and AI traffic to the route.
Compatible passenger layers include:

• DB BR 403 ICE 3 from Schnellfahrstrecke Nürnberg - Ingolstadt, operating an additional 33 Nürnberg - Würzburg services
• DB BR 411 ICE-T from Frankfurt - Fulda, also operating Nürnberg - Würzburg services with a further 16 end-to-end runs
• DB BR 103 with InterCity coaches, appearing on a railtour between Würzburg and Nürnberg
• ÖBB BR 1116 and coaches, adding Nightjet services
• DB BR 642, adding playable regional services between Siegelsdorf, Fürth and Nürnberg
• Additional BR 111, BR 101, BR 612 and n-Wagen AI traffic at Nürnberg and Würzburg

Freight layers add further local variety, including:

• DB BR 218 with Uacns wagons on local workings at Iphofen
• DB BR 294 on local services around Fürth
• Additional Eanos wagons

A number of additional locomotives and vehicles can also be spotted as static stock around the railway, including the BR 363, BR 103, BR 218 and Mint n-Wagen.
With the full collection installed, the result is a railway where modern regional EMUs, classic locomotives, Austrian international services, several generations of ICE and varied freight traffic can all appear across the same route.

Scenarios
You can embark across a total of 5 scenarios included with the route, as well as a further 3 aboard the iconic ICE 4.

Track Works Ahead (DB BR 440): Track maintenance between Siegelsdorf and Hagenbüchach means the line is down to single track running.
Put it on ICE (DB BR 401): A driver change at Siegelsdorf leads to an unusual stopping pattern.
Square Dance (DB BR 193): Run a few jobs around the area in the Vectron.
Back on Track (DB BR 440): After being held to allow an ICE train to pass, work to get back on schedule.
Nighty Night (DB BR 440): Park some trains ahead of tomorrow's services.
Point Break (DB BR 412): Freezing temperatures are causing havoc with the signals and points.
ICE Skates (DB BR 412): A cancelled RE service means you need to help out with a few unusual stops.
Then and Now (DB BR 412): Run this special display service, running parallel with an ICE 1 service towards Nürnberg.

Post-Release Bonus
Coming as a post-release update, Schnellfahrstrecke Nürnberg - Ingolstadt will be getting an additional timetable to make use of the updated DB BR 401 ICE 1, instead of the Kassel - Würzburg one, the Nürnberg S-Bahn DB BR 442, in place of the Köln-Aachen one, and of course, the DB BR 412 ICE 4 will be present also, with its 12-car formation sharing the same services as the 12-car ICE 1.



USA: Florida Tri-Rail
Florida Tri-Rail: Miami Airport - Boca Raton brings together colourful commuter operations and CSX freight across South Florida.
For this deep dive, we'll be looking more closely at the passenger timetable, freight operations, scenarios and compatible Add-ons available across the route.

Passenger Timetable
The Tri-Rail timetable has very standard hourly passenger service throughout the day, operating with the BL36PH primarily with the F40PH-3C substituting in (as well as the GP49H-3 for Deluxe Edition players) but there's also two express services included so there's some non-stop runs to do. The journey between Miami Airport and Boca Raton takes a little over an hour each way.

A few details with the Tri-Rail services; the locomotives always face southbound, with the Rotem cab car operating northbound, trains approaching Metrorail Transfer going south will always have a red light until cleared to cross the FEC line, and the last service of the day is a double formation which happens in reality. There is also a low chance that a service may be double-headed.



There is plenty of activity around the depot as well, with trains coming in and out of service throughout the day, providing shorter, albeit empty runs. The GP49H-3 is perfectly at home here too, with one service even requiring you to switch Rotem cars around and make-up a train formation in preparation for entering service, although you can undertake this role with any Tri-Rail equipment.

Unique Tri-Rail workings are also present; a pair of GP49H-3s are used for a ballast train run in each direction, and owners of Northeast Corridor: New York - Trenton can also take charge of an inspection train, hauling the ex-Metroliner cab car behind you.



Rounding out the layered passenger equipment, static Amfleet I stock can be found in the depot and at Amtrak’s Miami station, representing their daily presence on the route. In reality these would be Amfleet IIs, but as always, any layer can be disabled in the menu.

Freight Operations
A real highlight on the route is the CSX freight operations, which are largely made up of local switching and delivery movements to and from local industries. Hop aboard the GP38-2 to make and break trains ready for transferring cars up and down the line, from switching in Pompano to Fort Lauderdale drop offs. To reach local industries, freight often needs to run on the wrong track, requiring other services to swap tracks to avoid or overtake the local freight.



As well as Geep-hauled manifests and locals, the SD40-2 also gets stuck into the action on select heavier local turns and Hialeah Yard switching, as well as its own pair of rock trains using the new Dura-Max® Rock Hopper car. Both the CSX SD40-2 and GP38-2 are included, as well as all freight equipment you interact with throughout the day. In all, approximately 18 hours of timetabled freight operations await on the route.

There's also an old Caboose from Clinchfield Railroad that is there in reality in the CSX yard, various Norfolk Southern scrap wagons from Horseshoe Curve, and owners of Sand Patch Grade will find the AC4400CW is playable on a handful of the freight services.



Scenarios
Five scenarios are included with the Florida Tri-Rail route, with a further trio included with the Tri-Rail GP49H-3

Welcome to Miami (BL36PH): It’s Air vs Rail! Race the plane on an express Airport to Airport service
CSX: Miami (GP38-2): Investigate the mystery of the missing freight cars around the industries of Miami
Tonight’s the Night (F40PH-3C): Prepare the railroad for a fast-approaching hurricane
Miami Metro (Rotem Cab Car): You’re running behind a delayed freight service. Do your best to keep this service on time.
The Heat (Rotem & BL36): The heat is on and the air-con has failed. Do what you can to help passengers and bring your train in for repairs.
Mic Drop (GP49H-3): Take part in a facsimile of an audio recording session set during a DTG research trip to the Tri-Rail facility and line in Miami.
Support Act (GP49H-3): A loco has failed, and you have been sent deadhead to collect a failed train and complete its run.
Slo Rida (GP49H-3): Tackle the torrential rain and heavy traffic during the evening rush.
