So, in other words, they didn't need Freightliner's permission for the ONE 66...

Oh sorry, I thought you meant in game. That logo is on the REAL 66587, it however isn't in the game due to licensing issues. Sorry for the misunderstanding...

He lost his privileges to leak new content lol. Just kidding. He's still working for dtg but it seems like the roadmap is owned by Alex now based on a comment the official channel made on YouTube

I can’t see an answer to this question on the Q&A thread and I didn’t see it answered on the live stream, either.

    IMG_1234.jpeg

Can we get an answer to this?

Pretty simple: draw distance (and especially shadow draw distance) kills performance. One of the most brutal loads on a GPU. If you're running a 4060, then you can easily bump up draw distance in your engine.ini. But if DTG made that the program default, then consoles and older PCs would be reduced to slideshows.

That’s not an answer. Optimisation can improve things - DTG has acknowledged this previously. DTG Matt even said they were going to look at it on a previous roadmap stream, but nothing has been mentioned since. Hence my question.

What do you think the second new US route will be? I have a lot great possible route suggestions:

    -Metra/BNSF Chicago Racetrack
    -Pacific Surfliner
-Conrail Horseshoe Curve (or another Conrail route; we should get some Conrail locos in game)
-SP or UP Donner Pass (preferably with Cab Forwards, but we could get 1970s-1990s diesel power)
-Santa Fe or BNSF Raton Pass
-WP Feather River Canyon Route (1960s-70s)
    -BNSF/Sounder/Cascades Line
-UP Evanston Sub (needs #4014 and #844, along with new UP power; maybe an SD70AH-T4)
    -GN/BN/BNSF Stevens Pass
    -GN/BN/BNSF Marias Pass
-Milwaukee Road route with electrics (Little Joes, Bi-Polars, Boxcabs, etc.; plus diesel power)
-SP Peninsula Corridor with FM Trainmaster, SD9, GP9, and/or SDP45, plus commuter cars; extension to Gilroy needed for modern and SP versions, as well as electrification.

If it's a new licensor that DTG is working with, I think that the Pacific Surfliner, Cascades, or Conrail routes are very likely.

If we get the Pacific Surfliner, we need an SC44 Charger, of course, a Surfliner Cab Car, and a new BNSF locomotive (maybe a GP60, C44-9W, B40-8W, or ET44C4). DLCs could (finally) include a P42DC, P32-8BWH, and/or F59PHI (no longer used on this route). Also, a Coaster SC44 and matching Commuter Passenger Cars could be added as a future DLC.

If we get the Cascades Line, the route should include an SC44 Charger and Talgo or new Siemens Venture consist, a BNSF loco (same ideas as Surfliner) Also, maybe a GP50, GP39-3 (rebuilt ex-BN GP30 and GP35 units), or GP28-2 (rebuilt ex-BN GP7/9/18 units) could be included or added as a DLC. BNSF SD75Ms and SD75Is are commonly used for manifests and trash trains in the Pacific Northwest.
DLCs could include a Seattle Sounder MP40PH-3C and/or F59PHI and Commuter Cars, along with a Cascades F59PHI and NPCU F40PH.

For the Conrail route, I'd suggest an SD70MAC, SD80MAC, SD45, SD40-2, SD50, GP30, GP35, GP38-2, GP40-2, SD45-2, U30C, C39-8, C40-8, and/or C40-8W. Of course, we also need the NS Conrail Heritage ES44AC as a DLC (and also the CSX Conrail Heritage ES44AH for the Sand Patch Grade route.

It's all but confirmed that it's gonna be a new LIRR route or a rework of the existing one.

A more appropriate name for this is the ¨Some releases and excuses map¨.
My take from the last one was that they talk enthusiastically about new content and find all sorts of excuses regarding fixes and improvements.

Does this new DMU from London Overgound be available as a layer for Bakerloo line ?

I think I heard that DTG weren’t planning on adding it as a layer. It is an EMU by the way.

I seriously doubt it. Layers have to be built into a route's timetable. This means that in most cases an older route will not have a layer for a newer train, in other words a train which didn't yet exist when the route was made; the exception of course being those routes which have received new timetables: but that' is a LOT of work, not undertaken lightly. Bakerloo just got a new timetable last year so I don't think it probable DTG would go back to it any time soon.

In a bare couple of cases routes have included layers for trains not yet released but planned for near-future release, like Boston and the Acela, or Rosenheim and the Taurus.

Not forgetting the GWE timetable which was updated to include the TEA cargoline add on. It's not beyond the realm of expectation to see Bakerloo get an update. Anything to improve the look especially with the tfl depot being so visible on the Bakerloo line.

One wonders- but doubts - if when they redid the GWE timetable they adjusted the Class 166 station timings to reflect the more realistic revised physics- last I looked, the timings were still the original ones, calculated when the 166 performed like a Ferrari.

I was more thinking the addition of extra freight turns, a little like adding the 710 would do on bakerloo. It leaves everything else as it is but adds extras. The upcoming HOA pack will also add extra timetable runs to GWE and MML

If we get the LIRR, their DM30ACs/DE30ACs would be cool to see in passenger services. Then for freight trains, we could get a New York and Atlantic RR (NY&A) diesel (most likely their GP38-2, SW1001, or MP15AC units; NY&A does have a couple of eco-friendly EMD rebuild EMD 20B locos that look like heavily-modified GP20s) and some freight cars to deliver to multiple industries on the route.

For anyone interested, there are 2 recent, 9/23 and 1/24, cab ride videos over the Summeringbahn. They cover both directions, with the 9/23 south from Wein and the 1/24, north from Gratz. They are on a channel called RailRelaxtion. Looks like we are getting the middle half of this route, so again no actual terminal points.

Worth mentioning that the entire railway is long. The video showed around 210km of track length, so not really a bad thing. It is longer than the tsc version at least

    Thanks for that information.
But could you be more specific about the videos?
I am searching that channel now, but could not identify those 2 mentioned.
Could you please be so kind to indicate the names of 2 cities of the train run?

    Regards

Fife circle. Not in glasgow. Anytime between 0-3 months and definitely after rosenheim-salzburg comes out.

The 158 is a separate project releasing in 4-6 months by skyhook and they will want to be paid for their efforts because it is still a 'new' train. The mml and scotrail 158 are not identical. There are interior and exterior changes, possibly more timetable services if applicable and scenarios. That isn't easy work and requires the team to put in extra effort and therefore will want to earn money

Just the same as when people who owned the ScotRail 314, had to pay for the Southern 313. The East Midlands 158 is not the same train as the ScotRail 158 as has been pointed out previously, so it's only right to pay again. If you don't want to pay again then you are free to use the creators club version without the timetable and scenarios etc

At least the 314 is a different loco class to 313 I suppose.

Also the fact that the 314 has a pantograph while the 313 is third-rail etc...

And the ScotRail 158s have different fronts valances, different interiors etc. I guess, like I said, if you don't want to pay, then just use a creators club version

The 313 was a loco add on. The 314 came with the Cathcart route.

You weren't paying for the East Coastway route with the 313.

Your not paying for the fife route with the ScotRail 158 either and the EMT 158 came with MML. It's basically the same principle except the Scottish variant of the 313 was numbered 314.

    MML came with EMT 158
    Fife circle comes with 170
The ScotRail 158 is an additional Loco add on.

Cathcart came with ScotRail 314 (variant of the 313)
    Eastcoastway came with southern 377
Southern 313 was an additional loco add on.

The basic principle is the same. The ScotRail 158 is not the exact same as the EMT 158 the same as the 313 is not exactly the same as the 314. Both need some modification to the 3D model as well as a reskin.

Can anyone please explain what happened to Editor V2 and V3 from the first TSW4 Roadmap?

    August 2023:
    upload_2024-2-23_9-2-14.jpeg
    February 2024:
    upload_2024-2-23_9-2-32.jpeg

Yes I'm able to read, "CONTENT SUBJECT TO CHANGE" but the Editor is a core part of the TSW4 sales pitch and still isn't able to cook content or is fully working. Are we fooled again here?

Apologies - I did hear this on the roadmap stream but cannot fully remember. I think they basically said they are working on it and want to help the PC Editor community but there are some other things that are being focused on right now and as such the PC Editor stuff will be more than 6 months away? DTG Alex - Please may you update TKessel on this in case I've misremembered? Thanks

Oh please dont apologise! I'm thankful you and rennekton#1349 shared the info from the Stream. I'm just fearful that we are again not getting what was promised. The Editor was one major salespoint for TSW4, lots of people waited for it.

Bummer that the US Route that was in the 0-3 months category is now placed in the "Release Date to Be Confirmed Category". I would say to make up for what we were supposed to get, a 3rd US route should be created

I still think that next US Route, which is presumed to be LIRR 2.0 is going to either be next year lol or at some point it is going to be scrapped, who knows..I wouldn't be surprised, of this goes on for another 4-6 months of silence and then that other Metrolink dlc has arrived. Once again, they better prove me wrong lol

Well they can't just create a us route. It's a lot more to it than to decide today we are making x route and release it in a month. Well it doesn't take a short time to make something

They can't just create a British route or German route either.

There's a lot more to them than just deciding to make one and release it in month, but why should US routes be treated differently.

I never said they should be treated differently. I was responding to the comment saying that a 3rd us route should be created to make up the unannounced route. It's not as simple as just deciding right now what to make. It takes planning

LIRR 2.0 will be on the cancellation pile with US freight by the looks of it.

For the US, it's more like Metrolink-world these days.

It's like purgatory for US players- you'll have continued content from the most boring railway on earth*

    *freight sold separately lol

I am sure alot of planning is involved but I just wonder, how these licensing issues weren't caught from the get go? It's like there is always some sort of issue preventing US routes from reaching their true potential. Most of us were hyped with the leaks that were revealed but to then hear that issues like what was mentioned causing the route to be in an unknown state right before official reveal is somewhat unacceptable. I am just being patient for now and enjoying the DLC I have for TSW4 and TSC but not getting my hopes up until the issues are sorted out.

I suggested a replacement route with the expectation that it would require atleast another 6-9 months of planning and work since the devs work with these routes on a schedule. If the LIRR route ends up getting cancelled, then I don't expect anything for the US within the next 4 months, unless another 3rd party is cooking up another US route

Now I'm wondering if that one US loco that was on the roadmap was for the LIRR route, but is temp removed cause of the licensing issues?

And what is this specific "license" issue, DTG keeps mentioning???..Either way, I still think that next US Route or to say the leaked LIRR 2.0 is getting scrapped. You might as well wait for the 2nd Metrolink dlc in a few months.

Well, I don't live near trains, so tsw is my only way of experiencing trains so Im always open to different routes. I've heard many interesting things about metrolink from railfanners and just research online. There is no point in negativity in terms of entertainment and gaming. I've learned to appreciate games. I don't want to lose my sanity bashing dtg for every little action. Seen both the good and bad so im used to it all

The devs did not mention but I have a feeling it may have something to do with either, the NY&A Railroad or the LIRR diesels.
