    Today we are bringing a substantial update to Frankfurt – Koblenz, Birmingham Cross City Line and Northeast Corridor to support the release of Train Simulator 2022. Please see the changelog below:

    Core

    • Due to the wide array of positive feedback from the community, the previous Fastload beta has now been rolled in as a permanent improvement.
    Frankfurt - Koblenz
    • Added localisation Improvements
    • Updated the scenery for Frankfurt Hbf to Zepplinheim / Airport
    • Fixed instances where scenery was seen to be floating.
    • Updated the overhead wires at Frankfurt Niederrad
    • Fixed a selection of Scenarios which were seen to cause an AI Collision or routing error.
    • Added LZB to the high-speed section of the route at the airport.
    • Added missing crossovers and signals.
    • Fixed a variation of signalling lighting issues.
    • Fixed various speed issues related to signals previously not showing up.
    • Improved the DB BR 101 by updating the cab and included working LZB
    • Moved the Hidden Donkey
    • Updated a selection of existing graphical features including refreshing the speed limits and signals
    • Updated Mainz Bischofsheim to include signals.
    • Improvements to Frankfurt HBF station which has been re-signalled.
    • Improvements to Zs2s (letter route indicators) so that you now know where you are headed at junctions.
    Birmingham Cross City Line: Lichfield - Bromsgrove & Redditch
    • Added an array of fixes and improvements to the BR Class 323, see separate BR Class 323 Fixes & Improvements section below.
    • Added Network West Midlands “N Logo” to signs and the BR Class 323
    • Added missing Aston Villa Stadium and Aston Church. (Note: These are an impression and not accurate to real life)
    • Improvements to various audio inaccuracies including: Horn sound loops, AWS sound loop, cab controls sounds are louder now, correction of the sound occlusion inside pass view, fans background sound added, brake sounds are audible now.
    • Improved the Saloon lights.
    • Updated cab windows so that they are animated with external view.
    • Updated the door animation to slow down.
    • Various station improvements - including Barnt Green, Blake Street, Bourneville, Chester Road, Duddleston, Erdington, Four Oaks, Lichfield City, Longbridge, New Street, Sutton Coldfield, University, Wylde Green.
    • Added Network West Midlands Logo to all stations that need it.
    • Barnt Green, Lichfield City, Shenstone now all have the correct London Midland name boards
    • Added various localisation updates
    • Updated the tarmac colour on roads to be less intense.
    • Improved scenarios and updated all destinations
    • Fixed Kings Norton Marker to fit 6-car Trains
    • Added missing hospital at the university along with various minor updates to resolve any bugs.
    • Replaced all platform lofts to fix the walking off-platform issue.
    • Removed extra AWS signs at New Street.
    • Spurious AWS resume signs removed
    • AWS Ramp added 52.41448 -1.93134
    • AWS magnet at 52.48564 -1.87335 squared up.
    • Fixed Double OFF repeater which was seen to be floating from the canopy at Lichfield City.
    • Updated the AN132 signal link (moved 1m forwards)
    • Updated the SY7 (Barnt Green) signal, moved back to the platform and adjusted the platform marker to suit.
    • Updated the SY41 (Kings Norton) signal, moved nearer the Camp Hill points, slightly increased the length of the platform marker.
    • Updated junctions into Derby lines at New Street tunnel mouths to all be at 10mph.
    • Improved Holliday Street tunnel by adding cut and cover section as per reality.
    • Updated Canal bridges to include some arched sections.
    • Removed pillar next to track from bridge spanning canal and railway at five ways.
    • Updated Longbridge turnback siding to include 6-car stop board and mess in the four foot.
    • Added marina to Alvechurch
    • Added Blue/Green lights to car dealership at Redditch
    • Updated Bromsgrove 4/5-car stop markers, moved them to on top of shelter as per reality.
    • Updated Multistorey car park at Sutton Coldfield by making it a bit taller.
    • Added Lichfield city cathedral. (Note: This is an impression and not accurate to real life)
    • Added a rugby pitch between Sutton and four oaks.
    • Added some more trees to Bournville.
    BR Class 323 Fixes & Improvements
    • Updated train car names to be correct
    • Fixed wiper sounds to be more realistic and in sync with wiper movement.
    • Updated the numbering system of trains so that only one coach of any 3-car train has to be numbered. (Physical vehicle numbers eg: 640XX will automatically change to the correct unit number when game starts)
    • Added functionality for destinations to be changed in a simpler format.
    • Fixed tail lights so that they are now automatically on for Front/Rear of train.
    • Fixed the collision box to encompass the entirety of each coach.
    • Improved the fan speed so that you are now able to control Slow/OFF/Fast as opposed to off or on. Speeds of fan animation altered to match.
    • Various improvements to the AWS/TPWS system;
      • Delay Added to AWS magnet activations.
      • Self-test now includes correct delay TPWS lights illuminating.
      • If Driver is late to cancel AWS warning brake demand light will now flash until acknowledged.
      • 1 minute timer when acknowledged until brakes release, this timer be cancelled by moving reverser into then out of OFF.
      • TPWS train stop override button now illuminates for 20 seconds as per reality.
    • Various improvements to the power brake controller/Reverser interlocking;
      • Power brake controller can only be moved from Off to Emergency in any reverser setting.
      • Power Brake controller can be moved into power settings only when reverser is in direction.
      • Master key can only be used when the reverser is in OFF.
      • Reverser can only be moved when Power brake controller is between OFF/Emergency settings.
      • When reverser is In Direction, opening train doors applies emergency brake pressure, if in Neutral, Brakes can be released.
      • When moving reverser to OFF emergency brakes apply
      • When Reverser is in OFF pressing the pantograph down button will work, but not the pantograph up button.
      • When DRA is reset if the Power brake controller was in a power notch before resetting power will not be available, the PBC needs to be placed in the OFF/braking position before attempting to take power.
    • Improved reverser so that when moving from OFF position it will Activate or De-activate different systems.
      • Moving reverser from OFF position will activate DRA, cab fan, LED-AWS Sunflower and BatteryCharger Light illuminates. When moving reverser to the OFF position it will de-activate all of the previously activated systems.
    • Various improvements to the pantograph animation/system;
      • When pressing the pantograph down button externally the VCB open noise plays before pantograph drops.
      • The VCB light illuminates in the cab, and the battery charger light will turn red, (in reality this happens after 20 minutes).
      • When pressing the pantograph up/reset button there is a delay in the cab before line light illuminates and VCB closes, when the line light illuminates the battery charger light will turn blue.
      • Neutral Section functionality added.
    • Improved DRA & Tail light switches which have changed from click and drag to single clicks.
    • Improved hazard warning headlights so that they are now functional
    • Various Improvements to the Door System;
      • Doors now animate as per reality.
      • Correct sounds play when opening/closing.
      • Opening the doors now applies the emergency brakes when the Reverser is in Direction.
      • Brakes will only release when all doors have closed. (small-timer used to simulate Guard’s cab door closing)
      • Bodyside indicator lights now illuminate on both sides.
    • Improved animated cab windows
    • Fixed the bogie animation so that it now follows the track.
    • Improved Driver safety/Vigilance device, there is a 60 second timer which can now be reset by moving the power brake controller, once the vigilance audible alarm starts playing it should only be reset by the normal method.
    • Improved emergency brake plungers to now be individually clickable, when an emergency brake application has been initiated, even if reset the brakes will only release when the train has stopped. (except for an AWS brake demand)
    • Improved the horn low tone to now be activated with space bar, and high tone activated with B key.
    • Fixed emergency brake application to stop instances where brakes were getting stuck in step 1 position.
    Northeast Corridor: Washington DC - Baltimore
    • Added various localisation Updates
    • Improved scenario AI and timings.
    • Updated signal messages to allow for backwards compatibility with other NEC rolling stock that have cab signals and the Open NEC Project. (This includes but is not limited to: MP36, ALP-46, P42, HHP-8, GP40, and AEM-7)
    • Updated the ATC and ACSES lights on the ADU so that they now behave more realistically.
    • Updated the Washington-Baltimore specific version of the Acela Express and ACS-64 so that they will now properly interpret Metro-North signals that are present in New York to New Haven.
    • Added code change points in all relevant locations to further divide up signal blocks.
    • Added signal relay huts in locations where they were missing.
    • Added missing signals at the end of numerous Washington Union Station tracks.
    • Improved signals so that when passed by the front of a train, there is now a short delay before the signal changes to Stop.
    • Updated all signal types to now seamlessly communicate signal messages with each other.
    • Updated signal preparedness so that it is now properly tracked in all circumstances. Signals without preparedness will default to their most restrictive aspect (Stop in most cases).
    • Increased dispatch distance from 4 to 9.
    • Improved the signal ahead to now constantly communicate its state to the train, allowing the train’s cab signals to change mid-block if conditions change ahead.
    • Updated link speeds of numerous signals in order to achieve desired behaviour (i.e. putting 15 mph on most links in Washington Terminal to force Slow Clear instead of Clear)
    • Improved the Acela Express cab signals so that on approach shows the correct signal speed of 30 mph.
    • Improved the Acela Express cab signals so that on approach medium 45 shows the correct signal speed of 45 mph.
    • Improved Acela Express cab signals to dynamically update based on current block conditions.
    • Improved ACS-64 cab signals by disabling MNRR signal icons in non-MNRR territory.
    • Resolved flashing issues with Cab Speed in the ACS-64.
    • Updated the ACS-64 so that signal aspects will now properly display on the ADU (i.e. no more Medium Approach on ADU when passing Approach Medium signal).
    • Updated cab signals in the ACS-64 so that they will now dynamically update based on current block conditions.
    • Updated the ACS-64 ATC and ACSES lights on the ADU so that they will now properly display based on which system is enforcing the displayed speed.
    The update will download automatically for owners of the above add-on when it becomes available. Players should allow at least 24 hours after restarting Steam for the update to appear and before contacting Customer Support.
