Final batch of images documenting, chronologically, a stopping passenger service QD from Glasgow to Carlisle on DTG WCML_North. Motive power is provided by Caledonia Works CR 721-class Dunalastair, No.724 Jubilee, seen in CR light blue royal livery. It pulls seven MT CR 6-wheel carriages. This portion of WCML having once belonged to Caledonian Railway, the loco's route-indicator is properly set to "to and from Carlisle". Two views at Lockerbie: Approaching Carlisle terminus, regulator closed, coasting at circa 18mph on 20mph track: The Dunalastair with seven six-wheel carriages proved an idea combo for this run.
Have to agree, this orange Strathclyde livery looks amazing in an early morning light situation. These are without any RWE etc. enhancements just pure Vanilla TSC and still looks pretty decent in my eyes.
Adriana County RR v2.0 (RWA Library) - One of the ACR Centennial GP9 on mundane duties dropping MTs and collecting Bulkhead Flats loaded with timber (for the Laswell Sawmill). Above : View from the caboose platform as the MTs approach the loaded cars. Below: GP9 leaving Banks Timber siding and at the other end is one of two the Centennial cabooses
When not fiddling around with the Adriana County I'm fiddling around with one of my own W-I-Ps, a fictitious route set in the West mid West USA. It has its own locomotive and freight car livery. The Bison are unimpressed by the short freight passing their waterhole Totally unmoved! and the train ignores the Bison. Front 5 cars are repaints by Harry Adkins (RWA library) the remaining cars plus Locomotives (Kuju F7s) and caboose (GreatNortherner) are my own repaints. Bison by Pierre G
A couple of token images from an ongoing WCML_South winter morning stopping passenger service QD. None of my small LNWR fleet (which I assume ran on these tracks back in the day) quite fits the bill for this frequent-stop drive. Come to think of it, the LNWR 380 might be a better choice than the "Greater Britain" seen here. I might give that I try. I'll also experiment with times of day, as the one used here doesn't provide many post-worthy capture opportunities:
1) Class 158 in Regional Railways Express livery sprinting from Carlisle towards Settle 2) Class 33 in general gray moves a string of MFA back from Sheerness for reloading 3) Class 33 030 leaves Appleby with a railtour 4) Class 33 in Network Southeast toothpaste livery leads a railtour, assisted by a Class 37 supplied by DB Schenker 5) Union Pacific local gets ready to reverse and pick up some gondolas before returning to Cheyenne
More images from a winter morning stopping passenger service QD from London Euston to Watford High Street on WCML_South. The three-carriage train is pulled by a Caledonia Works LNWR "Greater Britain" 2-2-2-2 tendered steam loco. The QD completion screen shows the train to have traveled all of 19 miles long. Yet the run took one-and-a-half hours to complete, thanks to very frequent stops, and the loco needing time to replenish boiler water at each stop. (The Greater Britain is something of a water guzzler.) As is usual for me, images are presented chronologically. Two views at Stonebridge Park: Your typical WCML_South cab-leanout view, scenery consisting primarily of cityscapes and suburbs:
LNWR "Greater Britain" 2-2-2-2 Mr Webb would be proud of you using his engines although the drivers probably not.
I planned to unleash another WCML_South / CR LNWR Greater Britain installment this morning. In its stead, I substitute the first in a series of posts dedicated to a still-ongoing stopping passenger QD, from London Liverpool Street Station to Ipswich, on GEML London Ipswich DTG route. The route is a very recent acquisition, finding it on sale, post Steam’s official Winter 2022/23 sale, for $1.99US! It gives me a 70ish mile mainline on which to drive my CW GER T26, which until now had no native “homeland” on my computer beyond tiny Epping-Ongar. The 2-4-0 tendered steam locomotive, seen in GER Wartime Gray, pulls five GER carriages. Our train builds fire-mass prior to departure, its lamp-code not yet set, illuminated by harsh artificial lighting within London Liverpool Street Station. Here we encounter the only truly subpar assets noticed during the run thus far. Those support pillars screen-left of the train are nothing more than thin flat sheets, squared off at top and bottom, that swivel to face the camera. Not a lease-breaker, but surely round columns can’t be all that resource-hungry: I’ve not yet figured out why I recently began to suffer from jaggy-rail syndrome: I find the T26 a rather handsome loco, looking particularly spiffy in Gray: TO BE CONTINUED...
New Train Simulator user here, came from TSW2/TSW3, and had to see what TS was all about. Also finally got to drive the entire Ruhr-Sieg-Strecke since only the northern part is presented in the Ruhr-Sieg Nord DLC. Screenshots are from a quick drive in the vR BR185 (sound mod by Linus), set at winter time, with clouds, and starting from Siegen at 17:00, going north all the way to Hagen Hbf. The dated Ruhr-Sieg Line DLC looks better covered in snow, can recommend. The line speeds on Ruhr-Sieg Line DLC seems to be a little off and way too high according to OpenRailwayMap. Many of the tight turns have ~80 km/h limits where the DLC says go 120 km/h, you'll be fine! Siegen Hbf, BR 185 399-3 + Sdggmrss with containers, Weight 682 t, Length 308 m, vMax 100 km/h A lot of this through out the route: Love the station lighting: It had gotten quite dark when arriving Hagen: And keeping it winter themed, passed this snowman somewhere along the Riesa - Dresden route:
I did check my posts and I always had it. Ultimately it's about anti-aliasing. Selective AA for those things would be awesome. It's only really visible when rails are running horizontally, either because the developers did some tricks or because of how the rail head itself varies in color. Thin rails like those used on Donner Pass are also somewhat jaggy vertically. Welcome! Enjoy your stay Nice to see new faces. Just to be the smartpants I can be - Hagen-Siegen was one of the very first routes and I think the designers wanted to depict Germany as a place with modern, fast, agile trains. Especially with the trains chosen - BR 101 with Schnellzugwagen. Old routes can look great at good settings, using basic assets but so many of them. A lot of people disagree with it but these old routes do have a soul, and an artistic side to them. I see how modern routes have better fidelity and quality, but still.
Thank you! Couldn't agree more! Ruhr-Sieg is one of my favorite lines because of the varied speeds, twists and turns, tunnels, in general changes of terrain and character. I do enjoy "a lot of that"
GAD has released a free "enhancement pack" for Digital Traction's useful but long-on-the-tooth LSWR/SR M7 steam loco, aimed primarily but not solely at visual improvements. Here are some screenshots of GAD's LSWR Urie Green livery, seen on their Dorset Coast route: LSWR 4 & 6-wheel carriages seen here are freeware available at Wayside Works.
Third clump of images from a winter morning stopping passenger service QD from London Euston to Watford High Street on WCML_South. I intended to hold off uploading this installment for another day or two, but have amassed a large TSC postable-image backlog that needs whittling down.
Quick driving the 146 km route from Hausach to Konstanz in Germany in plain summer weather BR 189 030-0 + Sdggmrss, Weight 752 t, Length 342 m, vMax 100 km/h (vR BR189 using this soundmod) In the mountainous section between Hausach and Villingen there are no less than 36 tunnels! (see OpenRailwayMap) Flat farmlands for miles after Villingen: 2 hours after leaving Hausach we arrive at Konstanz: The border to Switzerland is located 300 meters beyond this stop sign:
A brief supplement to my showcasing of GAD's recently released enhancement pack for DT's LSWR/SR M7 0-4-4T, this time seen in Southern livery, again on GAD's Dorset Coast route: This image was captured using one of the game's generic loco cab-side cameras, DT not providing custom cab lean-outs such as are standard with CW and, nowadays, SSS. (Some DT locos have them, but it's not a given.):
1) Class 158 in Regional Railways Express approaching Rochester, then Chatham 2) Class 421 in Network Southeast departs from London Waterloo 3) Southern Pacific on the Surfliner 4) Winter gloom over the North London Line 5) MJA wagons loaded with ballast on London-Faversham
Second batch of images documenting a 70-mile stopping passenger service QD, from London Liverpool Street Station to Ipswich, on GEML London Ipswich DTG route. The train consists of a CW GER T26 2-4-0 tendered steam loco, seen in GER Wartime Gray, pulling five GER carriages. I like this first image well enough to add it to my now-gargantuan TSC Windows Desktop Background folder: Two views at Maryland Station: At least one Steam Store reviewer complained of a lack of A.I. traffic on this route's Quick Drives. To my happy surprise, I encountered a number of A.I. trains during this run. For good or ill, other than a stationary train seen in London Liverpool Street Station, no image in this series captures them.
The BR 232 “Ludmilla” out and about, picking up stranded wagons from Flughafen Berlin-Schönefeld: This thing is fun to drive, love a good diesel locomotive: Uncoupling wagons at Seddin: Heading back to Seddin engine facilities: I recently added ReShade to experiment with the looks of the sim, hence why the images don't look like the original DLC
Welcome!! It's awesome seeing new people come to the game and post their screenshots in this thread! My desktop background folder for my Train Smulator Classic screenshots is also getting huge!
Amtrak EMD E8s '208' and '227' lead the Silver Star passenger service which started from New York and in these screenshots has just departed from West Palm Beach headed for Fort Lauderdale Airport with 2 stops in between at Delray Beach and Deerfield Beach. Loco: EMD E8 Route: Miami - West Palm Beach
In addition to the LSWR M7 enhancement pack showcased earlier, GAD also released a DT Adams Radial Tank enhancement pack. Here is one of the pack's Southern liveries, again seen on GAD Dorset Coast. Unlike those M7 posts, this QD was driven to completion: Unlike the M7, DT provides custom cab lean-out cameras for the Adams Radial: Pulling out of Corfe Castle, en route to Swanage: In addition to cab lean-outs, DT provides a few CW-esque camera positions with the Radial:
Mortu, did you talk to Ardaeshir, or did you set it up on your own? Nice ones either way! Also enjoying the views by the rest of the posts. I hope this thread stays alive Adding my weekly I didn't yet move on to the next livery so once more, from session 3 of Regional Railways. The rest from the variety pool backlog. 1) Class 158 in Regional Railways (Express) returning from Falmouth 2) Class 47 with a Rail Express mail train on Portsmouth Direct Line 3) Class 33 in Trainload Freight keeps Network Southeast moving on the Sheerness Branch 4) EMD GP40PH-2B with Comets in autumn 5) EMD GP40PH-2B meets an ALP-46 on the North Jersey Coast Line in summer bloom
Fourth / final posting of images from a winter morning stopping passenger service QD from London Euston to Watford High Street on WCML_South. (The Greater Britain is something of a guzzler.) As is usual for me, images are presented chronologically. Looking through a partially sunlit cab interior (thanks to one of CW's custom cab lean-out cameras) toward a cityscape beyond the tracks:
Southeastern Class 395 '395013' leads a 12 car long passenger train from Ebbsfleet International to St Pancras International with 1 stop in between at Stratford International. After this the train will make a return journey back to Ebbsfleet International once again stopping at Stratford International on the way. Loco: British Rail Class 395 Route: London-Faversham High Speed
It's 4 in the morning at Hialeah Yard in Miami and repairs being carried out on a diner car of the Silver Star passenger train consist have been completed. Amtrak GE Dash 8-32BWH '516' shunts the new diner car together with the other coaches to form the Silver Star passenger train and will push it into Miami Station before returning to the shed sidings. Locos: GE Dash 8-32BWH, GE Dash 8-40CW, GE P42DC Route: Miami - West Palm Beach
Third batch of images documenting a 70-mile stopping passenger service QD, from London Liverpool Street Station to Ipswich, on GEML London Ipswich DTG route. The train consists of a CW GER T26 2-4-0 tendered steam loco, seen in GER Wartime Gray, pulling five GER carriages. Two at Forest Gate: I enjoy this recent trend of "art imitating..." images, and have for a while thought to possibly incorporate something similar in one of this series' later installments. Huge as the series is, that's still a good while away, assuming I don't chicken-out beforehand.

Seeing as I have spent most of the weekend analyzing and editing Class 33 .bin files for the first time in my life, thought it only decent to take my efforts for a run from Folkeston to Shenfield via Ipswich. Must say they look and run just beautifully. Reskins courtesy of BLS with additional Brake & Throttle Patch added. (Please note the values from the Brake & Throttle Patch have to be manually edited into the reskin .bin files)
