60028 on the Midland Mainline. I do love a good HST ride . Let's go back to 2005 then. Here is 60058 working the Rectory Junction to Humber Oil Refinery in the Summer of that year. BR1822 working a international service from Maribor to Graz. I really didn't know that there was a train that looked like Lakitu from Super Mario Bros . This is a D750 heading to Maribor.
Whilst running the 1Q82 service from Preston to Blackpool, I was suddenly aware of the similarity between the windscreen configuration of 37558 "Avro Vulcan XH558" ............................... ................... and the actual Avro Vulcan XH558.

Nice old-time images Blazin. (As are the originals.) I never think to create them until I see someone else's posted efforts. With your reminder, I once again take a stab at image doctoring. The original image is of a WaySide Works freeware LSWR Ilfracombe Goods 0-6-0 with two coaches & luggage van pulling out of Axminster station en route to Lyme Regis on [GA] West of England Mainline. The ride was doomed to failure from the get-go, as I fully expected, the loco being too underpowered to tackle the branch line's steep climbs: The below was created within my video creator/editor, Wondershare Filmora, plus a little further editing in Paint.NET. The results are darker than I ideally prefer, but any further lightening resulted in cylinder-xxxx exhaust becoming a solid white blub:
It's a lovely autumnal 2010s afternoon in British Columbia, Canada as Canadian Pacific GE ES44ACs '9351' and '9360' depart eastbound from Golden with 80 empty CPWX covered hopper wagons and Canadian Pacific GE ES44AC '9358' assisting on the rear operating CP Train 356. Off sequence, story time. I played Colton & Northern scenarios during 2018 February. I didn't annotate them so playing a few to find out the scenario for shots. I have a special project in my mind for these routes, in the future: running these tasks with suitably small locos that are otherwise not covered. I couldn't resist taking these two. I think they show off perfectly that despite the quality of individual assets certainly lacking, there is still artistic potential. I suspect a revisit would mostly yield ground shots like these. UP 3385 proceeds on the Pine area staging loop track, circumnavigating its consist to allow pushing them in. Loco headlights illuminate this patch - view of the Pine area loop. +1
Installment six in a multipart series chronologically documenting a mid-Autumn morning stopping passenger service Heritage Rail Tour QuickDrive, from Crewe to Holyhead, on North Wales Coast Line route, acquired during Steam's Winter 2023/24 sale. Having belonged to LNWR in pre-grouping days, I power the train with a favorite steam-era loco, Caledonia Works' LNWR "Greater Britain", No.3435 "Queen Empress" to be exact, seen in Lilac & Cream livery. Though Greater Britain looks to be a conventional 2-4-2 tendered locomotive it is, in actuality, a 2-2-2-2 compound loco. It pulls four LNWR coaches, the last of them an observation coach, which I fail to get a decent capture of. I love a good Class 37 in action. Heading for Buxton on the Midland Mainline extension from Stockport. Winter 2002.
I've been compiling a Summer 1957 scenario for Riviera 1950s using the BR (W) passenger timetable and a book about how the holiday extras were planned and operated (hint - it never ran to plan!) and so here are a few screenshots of the WIP scenario. Exeter St Davids sees a GWR Grange being held on the Down Main with a lengthy parcels train for Plymouth, to let a stream of severely delayed holiday expresses overtake: One of the many portions of the Atlantic Coast Express eases out of platform 4 onto the fearsome 1:36 gradient up to Exeter Central. Out of shot is the banking engine, a 76xxx BR standard 4 2-6-0. Finally we see a train approaching Starcross, the down home signal has just cleared and the Castle is getting into its stride (although fully expecting to be checked at the next home signal, at Dawlish Warren.)

An absolutely terrible 1951 Autumnal torrential downpour affects the south of England, United Kingdom but the trains must still run! British Railways 7200 Class '7236', one of three 7200 Classes stabled at Newton Abbot during this time gets out of the sheds during this gloomy morning and loads up on coal before shunting together a train of loaded coal wagons with a brake wagon on the rear for a southbound branch line run to Brixham. Part 11, the concluding installment in a chronological depiction of an Autumn morning stopping passenger service Heritage Rail Tour QD, from Inverness to Kyle of Lochalsh on Just Trains - The Kyle Line, a route purchased at the tail end of Steam's Autumn 2023 sale. The train consists of a Caledonia Works Highland Railway "Jones Goods" 4-6-0 tendered steam loco, seen in radioactive yellow livery, pulling four AP MK1 coaches. According to (link) Rail Map Online - UK & IE Railways (link) Kyle Line was, during the pre-grouping era, part of The Highland Railway, making it a suitable match for the loco though, as one viewer points out, in real life the loco likely never traveled the entirety of this section of the line during its days of active service. I am, alas, going to disappoint you. Wondershare Filmora created the "faux historical" images seen in my recent postings by manipulating TSC screenshots, not video footage. In 1960 the Stainmore Line was under threat (closed in 1962) but the summer holiday traffic between Tyne/Tees and Blackpool was still in full swing. On Summer Saturdays three timetabled express trains ran in each direction between the North East conurbations and Blackpool via Barnard Castle, Kirkby Stephen East and Tebay. On Summer Sundays the Blackpool trains did not run, but there were semi-regular specials run between Darlington/Durham and the Lake District resorts of Windermere and Keswick. We see several shots of a Sunday special to the latter destination, which routed via the Eden Valley line to Penrith. Awaiting departure time at Darlington (North Road). A Standard 2MT 2-6-0 leads the train with an Ivatt 2MT tank as assisting loco. The fireman is yet to add the lamps! Somewhat later in the journey, the train pauses for water at Appleby East, holding up the road traffic. Upon departure the special goes into the loop to cross the timetabled Sunday service heading in the opposite direction. Finally a shot of our Keswick train working hard on the 1:80 climb to Clifton Moor, before joining the WCML for the final dash into Penrith.
Part 1: DB had decided to experiment with different rolling stock on longer journeys. They wanted to introduce a new high speed DMU service to replace their aging loco hauled stock. It was to run direct from Kiel to Hannover (switching ends at Hambourg Hbf). Here we see the test train (with blank destination) making station stops at Raisdorf and Acheburg on its massive 315km long journey: Raisdorf: Ascheberg (Holstein) : Loco: DB BR 612 (Pegnitzelbahn) Route: Hamburg S1, Hannover and Kiel (via Lubeck) - Steam workshop
Part 2 of the DB 612 journey from Kiel to Hannover via Lubek & Hambourg The train makes a station stop at Bad Malente-Gremsmühlen...... .....and another at Eutin........ ......and yet another stop at Pönitz (Holstein)...... .....before hoofing it through Pansdorf...... The service also stopped at Bad Scwartau before arriving "under the wires" into Lübek. TO BE CONTINUED.....
Part 3: On departure from Lübek, it was decided to skip stations between Lübek and Hambourg (except for Bad Oldesloe and Hasselbrook) due to frequent electric services already servicing these stations. We see our service speeding through Reinfeld: and making a stop at Bad Oldesloe: To be continued.
Part 4: On Departure from Bad Oldesloe and given that the next station wasn't until Hasselbrook, the service took full advantage of the 160km/h speed limit, showing off its tilting capabilities. Shortly after, the service arrived into Hasselbrook - this was to allow passengers to connect with S-Bahn services. (The S-Bahn track can be seen in the foreground, electrified by a 3rd rail) Having arrived in Hamburg and picked up passengers, the driver has swapped ends to continue the journey to Hannover. To Be Continued.
Part 5. Shortly after departing Hamburg, the service performed a somewhat unusual movement - instead of going out onto the direct lines, it was sent into the Weddel freight yard to perform yet another turn around. Exiting the yard: It was then sent along the goods lines before arriving promptly at Harburg. To Be continued.
Part 6: It was virtually a non stop run between Harburg and Ulezen, the track speed limit was 200km/h, and the train was put through its paces - unfortunately it maxed out at 163km/h. Arriving into Uelzen, with just over 90km left of its journey. The next station for this service will be Celle. To Be Continued
Part 7: After Celle, the service called at Langenhangen Mitte, before finally arriving at its final destination of Hannover. Celle: Langenhangen Mitte: Hannover: And so ends a trip that took roughly just over 4hr.
A1 Steam Locomotive Trust Peppercorn Class A1 '60163' 'Tornado' operates a northbound rail tour passenger service of 13 British Rail Mark 1 Coaches passing through Settle, England in the United Kingdom around midday on the Settle-Carlisle Line and traveling 74 miles to it's destination of the line's northern terminus of Carlisle with one scheduled passenger stop in between at Appleby and luckily it was a lovely Summers day for this run to take place over the steep gradients of the Settle-Carlisle Line.
