Hello all, here's my Year in Review 'awards ceremony' I am doing now that all development for 2024 releases has concluded...

NOTE: This will be split over two pages (one is for the 'best' segments, and the other is for the 'worst' segments)

    Here are the categories:
    • TG08's Best Livery of the Year
    • TG08's Best Scenario of the Year
    • Community's Best Scenario of the Year
    • Community's Best Livery of the Year
    • TG08's Worst Livery of the Year
    • TG08's Worst Scenario of the Year
    • Community's Worst Scenario of the Year
    • Community's Worst Livery of the Year

Let's get into it then folks!

TG08's Best Livery of the Year goes to...

    ...the MRCE BR 193 'Vectron'!!!

TrainGeek08: Well done to this livery for winning the award this year, I spent two and a half hours making this livery, which is by far the longest time I have taken to make a livery in TSW. This was my first German livery I ever made so I really appreciate the support this livery received at launch back in February.

TG08's Best Scenario of the Year goes to...

...ICE 118 Berlin on the S-Bahn Vorarlberg route!!!

TrainGeek08: Well done to this scenario for winning the award this year. I enjoyed making this one and the variety of AI in this scenario is bang-on compared to the real-life route at the time the scenario is set and this is before I talk about Vorarlberg itself... S-Bahn Vorarlberg is one of my favourite European routes to play so I hope to impress you with some more content from this mountain-pass route in 2025.

Community's Best Livery of the Year goes to...

...GBRf's 66789 in its BR Large Logo blue livery!!!

TrainGeek08: There's no surprise that this came on top against the FLIXTRAIN 'Vectron' and has forced it to crumble in the days leading up to this Year in Review. I have given this a lot of praise throughout this year so I don't think you need to hear it all again, all I'll say is it was one of the top 3 in the 'TG08's Best Livery of the Year' segment.

Community's Best Scenario of the Year goes to...

...RJ256 Berlin on the Semmeringbahn route!!!

TrainGeek08: When I released this back in June, I thought it was going to fall flat on its face and not do well, but you proved me wrong on this occasion. Even if you do not see any AI from Murzzuschlag to Semmering, the mountain views and scenery make up for it in my opinion. More Semmeringbahn content will be releasing in 2025, but will it top this scenario?

See who is being named and shamed in Part 2 of this Year in Review...

Part 2 of the awards beckon... who is being named and shamed today?

Let's get into it then folks!

TG08's Worst Livery of the Year goes to...

    ...the Fastline Freight livery!!!

TrainGeek08: This livery was an absolute pain to make and I think that the state the livery is in reflects that, so it goes to show that a livery I think is easy, does not do so well...

TG08's Worst Scenario of the Year goes to...

...Ivening Drive on the West Cornwall Local route!!!

TrainGeek08: I have said this numerous times this year that I screwed up the weather conditions for the time of day and did not pick up on it in testing but there's no surprise that this is one of my worst scenarios (in my opinion) that I have made in 2024.

Community's Worst Livery of the Year goes to...

    ...the Fastline Freight livery (again)!!!

TrainGeek08: At least we can agree on something! Totally understandable at this point, had I known that this was a shambles, might as well have deleted the whole thing and forgot about it.

Community's Worst Scenario of the Year goes to...

...1Z80 EDB-PBO on East Coast Main Line!!!

TrainGeek08: Clearly a night-time railtour doesn't sit well with you all? Or was it the lack of AI? Something clearly isn't right with this release but oh well... it's out there now and has received this unfortunate award.

    Livery Name: National Express ScotRail
    Route: Fife Circle Line
    Train: Class 158 ScR
    Route covered: N/A
Duration (to make the livery): 45 minutes

Here is the livery, the National Express ScotRail (unbranded) livery on the Class 158 :).

Here is a view of the side. I would have done it branded however it was a pain to get right so I took the easy way out on this occasion :o.

Here's the rear view of the livery, same as the front I'm afraid :D

And here it is parked up at Haymarket Depot after a long days' work on the Fife Circle:

Hi mate,,I think this would appeal to those interested in photo mode. And I think if it’s done right,,especially with background noise like Dave says then it might work.
But without putting a downer on it would the scenario be worth your time. As most can take the relevant shots already.
Users can already replicate certain conditions. So from my perspective I feel it would only be advantageous to those that can not use some in game functions. And if that’s the case would it be worth the time to make if the numbers would be low.

We both know it’s not about the numbers but the time needed for a project. What projects are worth the time and the ones that are not.
It how I treated my work sometimes. Yet some was experimental so I could see why doing something different could appeal to some users.
This project being one of them. Hit and miss,,,it’s just about time ain’t it.

Keep the work up tho my friend,,,you done some great stuff over the months.

Hello again. What does the branding look like. Could I attempt this for you as my first project back?.
I only ask because I can not do what you do with scenarios. I know my weaknesses so hold my hands up.
I don’t have the back ground knowledge of UK networks etc. Plus I know why I am stuck on certain things because technically speaking I have learning difficulties.

But I feel it’s fair to say in can do some complex livery’s. So not sure how it all work yet,,,but if I was to make you one can you take it off me and use it for your work. It could be something to consider as the time needed for all that you do must be difficult at times.
If you had some assistance then it could free more time up to work on more complex scenarios.

Just a thought,,,but I won’t get carried away. I’ll still take it easy with my situation.

You have summed up the positives and negatives of this idea perfectly. I'll only know if the points you have made here are true or not once the Carlisle scenario releases next week. So as it stands, I will continue making them until I see a reason why I should not :).

It is such a good idea and such a thoughtful thing to come forward and say! Unfortunately, as you know, I have a tight schedule to stick to and I don't want to pressurise you into a situation you don't want to find yourself in, especially with everything you have been going through ;). But thank you for the offer anyways :).

In saying that, I have managed to do 6 pieces of content in a month before, could I do 7 pieces of content next month? (4 are already done with the first 2 announced already).

Sure I get that,,you have to try to see what works don’t ya.
And thanks,,,I don’t want to get in the way.

I’ll leave it then. Good luck with you up coming projects.
    All the best for 2025.

Hello all, I'm here to announce my second scenario of 2025, IC2270 Warnemunde on Tharandter Rampe :).

    Scenario Name:
    IC2270 Warnemunde
    Route: Tharandter Rampe: Dresden-Chemnitz
    Train: Expert DB BR 101
Route covered: Chemnitz to Dresden Hbf (full route)
    Duration: 1 hour
    Difficulty: 2
Scenario Storyline: Drive this InterCity service from Chemnitz to Warnemunde as far as Dresden Hbf, where another driver will take over for the run towards Rostock and Warnemunde. No delays are expected but do expect adverse signals as you will catch up to an RE service ahead of you on your journey into Dresden this morning.

    Anyway, WIP shots await...

Here is our service awaiting departure at Chemnitz, hauled today by a DB BR 101 as per usual with IC services these days.

We pass regional services bound for Zwickau (above) and Hof (below) along our journey through Saxony this morning :).

My favourite screenshot of this scenario, this was taken as we pass another regional service on full tilt and I love how the camera is angled at exactly the same angle as the trains going around the curve !

I hope you are looking forward to this one, I've been TrainGeek08 as always, enjoy the rest of your day and until next time, goodbye everyone .

Good morning all, TG08 here, it's that time of month again... It's teaser time!

I have made the second 'Railfan' scenario but the reveal will come in the CC Roadmap next week.

Here's some clues as to where it is:

    - It is located on a mainline heading West,
    - It is near an airport,
    - You may find Aventra's here,
    - This station's name is made up of a Southeastern station in London and a Thameslink station in Bedfordshire.

Guess away folks! I imagine you will get it pretty quickly but will you be correct or not? All will be revealed in the CC Roadmap...

I'm TrainGeek08 as always, enjoy the rest of your day, and I'll see you for the next announcement, until then, it's goodbye :).

Hello all, I'm here to announce my next mod from my Creators Club Roadmap, NJ Wien on S-Bahn Vorarlberg :).

    Scenario Name:
    NJ Wien
    Route: S-Bahn Vorarlberg
    Train: OBB BR 1116 'Taurus'
    Route covered: Bregenz to Bludenz
    Duration: 50 minutes
    Difficulty: 2
Scenario Storyline: Drive the first portion of this Nightjet service from Bregenz to Bludenz, where another driver will take this train forward through the night towards Wien (Vienna). No delays are expected but be weary of S1 stopping services potentially giving you restrictive aspects as you get closer to Bludenz...

    Anyway, WIP shots await...

Here is our service awaiting departure at Bregenz, hauled tonight by a BR 1116 in Nightjet livery.

We pass a S1 service heading to Lindau-Insel at Gotzis as we arrive on our service to Wien :).

We are racing cars on the Rheintal Autobahn (Autobahn A14) between Gotzis and Rankweil and it seems that we are winning! :D

We have now arrived at our stopping point for this scenario, Bludenz. The 4024 'Talent 1' units will stable here overnight before working regional or S-Bahn services in the morning. Good work driver!

Hello all, I'm here to announce my next mod from my Creators Club Roadmap, ES9411 Koln on Schnellfahrstrecke Koln-Aachen :).

    Scenario Name:
    ES9411 Koln
    Route: Schnellfahrstrecke Koln-Aachen
    Train: TGV Duplex CM 200
Route covered: Aachen Hbf to Koln Hbf (full route)
    Duration: 30-35 minutes
    Difficulty: 2
Scenario Storyline: Drive this final leg of this Eurostar service from Paris, between Aachen Hbf and Koln Hbf. There is a rainstorm sweeping through the Rhine area and be aware of any cautionary signals as you approach Koln-Ehrenfeld as you catch up to an RE9 service ahead of you.

    Anyway, WIP shots await...

Here is ES9411 awaiting departure at Aachen Hbf for Koln Hbf, having come from Paris Gare du Nord.

We pass an RE service heading into Aachen Hbf as we leave on our service to Koln :).

We are now at Duren, so have joined the S-Bahn network and we are overtaking one service right now, as it waits for another BR 423 to come off of the single track section ahead.

We are now whizzing through Horrem at high speed, as this S19 service arrives on a service to Sindorf, which is the next station down the line after Horrem. Not long to go now BR 423, not long to go... :D

Good morning all, TG08 here, it's that time of month again... It's teaser time!

I have made the third 'Railfan' scenario but the reveal will come in the CC Roadmap next week.

Here's some clues as to where it is:

    - It is in Germany,
    - You can interchange with the U-Bahn at this station,
    - It is halfway along a Rhein-Ruhr route,
    - The city has seven stations on that Rhein-Ruhr route.

TIP: Consider all of the clues before making a guess!

Guess away folks! I imagine you will get it pretty quickly but will you be correct or not? All will be revealed in the CC Roadmap...

I'm TrainGeek08 as always, enjoy the rest of your day, and I'll see you for the next announcement, until then, it's goodbye :).

Here's the front view of the livery. Pretty straightforward to be honest ;).

Do MBTA even clean their trains? From this angle, it doesn't!

Here is our service awaiting departure from a rather busy West Side Yard as the sun begins to rise above the horizon.

We cross with a service which has just left Woodside for its next stop of New York Penn. That sun is in the right position there... Lucky me!

The three electric musketeers of the LIRR meet again...

Here is our service awaiting departure from Long Beach after having a rest over lunchtime.

"Farewell Long Beach! It's been a pleasure working the line for so long :(..."

The three musketeers are back at it again I see...

This M9 seems to be watching our M3's movements... After all, they are the successors to the M3.

    Scenario Name:
    Farewell Budd-y Part 5
    Route: LIRR Commuter
    Train: M3 LIRR
Route covered: Long Island City to Hempstead, Hempstead to West Side Yard
    Duration: 1 hour 25 minutes (85 minutes)
    Difficulty: 3
Scenario Storyline: Now this is it. The final ever run of an M3 unit along the LIRR. Drive the last leg of the tour from Long Island City to Hempstead, before reversing for an express run to Jamaica and New York Penn to conclude the tour. You will park the train back in West Side Yard after you have arrived at Penn too.

    Anyway, WIP shots await...

Here is our service awaiting departure from Long Island City. At last, it has snowed!

"Farewell M3! You have kept us diesels on our toes from time to time. You will be missed! Love the DE30AC/DM30AC family ."

"It's so sad to see you go, I felt for the M1s when they retired, so it must be hard for the M9s right now, realising that they are replacing you. Farewell M3s :(. From the M7 family."

"Farewell M3s. Your time has come for retirement. We will continue your legacy, as we are your successors after all. Love from the M9s !"
