    May's 'Development Insights':

I'm going to do two monthly development insights (into one scenario and one livery) I release within the current month (e.g. May for this one) whether they have released or not to explain what goes on behind-the-scenes ;).

    This Month's Case Studies: (TG08) Regional Railways (101) + (TG08) RB34 Frankfurt (BR 218)

We chat to the OP of this thread, TrainGeek08, to firstly talk about the livery (below) '(TG08) Regional Railways (101)', that released earlier this week.

Why use the WCML Over Shap variant over the TVL/DLoGW variants?

TrainGeek08: "The WCML Over Shap variant is the best Class 101 we have in game right now (credit to JT for that one) so why not use the best version of the unit we have in game to make this era-appropriate (for WCMLOS) livery."

Can you discuss what you did with the lettering, as you mentioned that you were proud of the way you did it during the announcement?
TG08: "So, I used a pre-existing font provided in the game and I had to add some lines to the tops/bottoms of the lettering to make it remotely similar to the Regional Railways logo. I learnt from my mistakes in making the RR logo in the past, so I hope it is the closest version I've created to date!"

How long did the livery take to make?
TG08: "This livery took 1 hour to make. It is a very simple livery to create so I'm happy that it is a reasonable time to spend on it without it looking like I've rushed it."

Following up on that sentiment, would you describe this livery as a 'simple' livery or a 'complex' livery?
TG08: "A mixed bag really. This livery is on the simpler side in terms of detail, but some parts of it i.e. the logo are more complex because as I discussed earlier with the lettering, you have to add onto the pre-existing font you have in game to make it look similar (to the RR logo)."

I know it only released a few days ago, but are you impressed with the reception it has garnered on CC so far?

TG08: "Unusually for me, not really. It currently has 7 subscribers. I'm a bit confused why this is the case after three days. Surely it could have near double that. At that point I would say it has steady progress but still. Not impressed at all..."

When can we see another Class 101 livery from you?

TG08: "If it's not on the Roadmap..."

We then ask TrainGeek08 to discuss the scenario (below) '(TG08) RB34 Frankfurt (BR 218)', that released last week.

    Why the DB BR 218?

TrainGeek08: "It is something different you know? Instead of driving a multiple unit on this route, you can drive a diesel locomotive that I haven't even used a lot since it came out (sorry TSG...) but I'm making up for it now at least!"

Are you happy with how well it has been received since release?
TG08: "Absolutely! I mean, I haven't made content for this route in a while, so I'm happy you all really enjoyed something different on the Niddertalbahn compared to a DB BR 628 run."

It's been a while since we saw some Niddertalbahn content from you, why is the gap so few and far between?

TG08: "Niddertalbahn is a tricky route, mainly because of its limited replayability value. Full length runs all of the time can be a bit boring. I would love to make more scenarios on certain routes, but from a gameplay/scenario standpoint, Niddertal isn't really the best one I'm afraid."

How does this scenario differ from your previous Niddertalbahn content?
TG08: "I mentioned it earlier on regarding the driving experience. You are driving a diesel locomotive hauling Dostos instead of driving a multiple unit, and the 218 also brings its own driving challenges too."

How long does the scenario play for?

TG08: "The scenario plays for around an hour, calling at all stations on a service from Stockheim to Frankfurt Hbf via Bad Vilbel."

How would you describe the difficulty of this scenario, easy or hard?

TG08: "I would describe this scenario as easy. It is only 2 trains going back and forth and you cross over at Heldenbergen-Windecken so you are alone for most of the journey. Not much PZB to worry about whatsoever either in comparison to some routes."

Thanks to TrainGeek08 for taking the time to answer those burning questions for us :).

    Conclusion:
Anyway, I hope you enjoyed this one, put your thoughts below as ever . From me, TrainGeek08, I'll see you soon for another CC release announcement, enjoy the rest of your day and goodbye ;).
