Sounds like the SD40-3 is just a reused SD40-2 from the NYNH route.....

I knew the model looked a little wack. I wonder why they didn't use the more recent GP40-2 sounds? I think those are a bit better than the ancient SD40-2 sounds.

With all due respect to the "review" re-posted above, the SD40-3, like virtually any model, is not perfect and we will keep an eye out for ways to improve it as we also identify other post-release route fixes that may be needed. The SD40-3 model is, however, not simply a "rehash" and it has, in contrast to the above viewpoint, received a number of favorable comments from users.

I would like to thank TruRail Simulations, which has (since the above copied review was posted), stated at its FB page:

"We have deleted the post pertaining to the SD40-3.

We would like to apologize to High Iron Simulations for being so harsh on the model. The route is great, and the stock is appropriate to accompany it. At least it has a new cab view, which can be worked with.

We would like to apologize to you (our fans) for causing any mix-ups. It was never the intention of the post."

Yeah the route is amazing, and with some work/modding the locomotives can be great too. Plus, you can always run a locomotive you like more or swap it in for a scenario.

Oh wow, the graphics are so good compared to similar Train Simulator routes that I thought it was Train Sim World. ❤️ those autumnal trees... I don't normally like US routes, but I'm tempted...
Overview here - highly detailed and varied route, average locos and rolling stock, but plenty of it -
Looks like a great basis for scenario writers.

I will say that the Western Maryland Pack has a lot of fun potential for my favorite era in railroading, the '70s-'90s. I might pick this up for the CSX heritage of it, but I'm still a bit disappointed with the 40-3. (No offense Gary). The route itself looks amazing nonetheless.

Its a new precedent for NA routes for TS. Absolutely thick with detail.
I hope the team that collaborated for this make more... and soon.

And that WM pack, with scenarios
    Can't come soon enough
