So thought I would reinstall TSC as feeling nostalgic for some of the stuff we will never see the light of day in TSW, particularly older era, steam traction and the Swiss content. I thought I had curated the DLC down to a modest level for the initial install (about 55Gb compressed/170Gb expanded) which Steam has grabbed. However it’s now got stuck showing as validating at 99% of the total process. I’ve tried clearing the Steam Download cache to no avail. Has anyone else encountered this or aware of a possible solution? Even with my old mechanical drive it should not take hours to validate 170Gb of data. I’m thinking the only solution is to cancel the install, uninstall what’s there then go through the DLC list and literally untick everything apart from the original core Kuju/RS and Railworks shipped content. Only then, once that’s successfully completed restart the curated process a few DLC at a time.
Could you try renaming the assets file and then creating a temp one with just the usual Kuju/DTG folder&stuff and restarting the validation?
Thanks for the suggestion. However in the meantime I just went ahead and uninstalled it, then reinstalled with the basic Kuju files and that sorted it. Will add DLC back in a few at a time.
