I think that some of the comments show that expectations are high, and those were met in previous work, including yours!
I'm not a steam fan so you can't know me as a big supporter, but I do respect your work.

If you did mind my earlier comment, let me know privately, just so that I know that I should improve my wording.
It's just a disagreement, two opinions, ideally an option, or something to be reevaluated and consciously kept or reverted. I did such changes myself as a developer, some were loved, others less so

I agree with you, there are some impolite responses. I have an overall feeling that people might be a bit sour, the amount of camaraderie is possibly at an all-time low. My perspective about it is the distinct lack of feedback (likes) on screenshots (overall).

I think this situation evolved into politics, with all the well known activities. Sides, arguing, hypothesizing... since nobody can actually know.

 

Everyone on all sides responsible for the development of this should be extremely ashamed of what they've done, even aside from all of the name calling and arguments in this thread so far. The fact that the pack had to be delayed a full week after it failed so spectacularly on the grand total of 20 minutes it was on stream should speak volumes on whatever view you have of this add-on. It is extremely unfit to be released and shouldn't have even been shown off on stream, let alone considered a "complete" product fit for sale on Steam.

The fact of the matter is that the bar of quality for train sim DLCs has been set so low now that a developer can send off a locomotive that just straight up doesn't work to be sold on Steam. This can't happen. If train sims are going to survive in the already niche market they have, the content needs to be at least functional to bring in new players, but developers just don't care anymore and will rush things to release just to make a quick buck.

It's just a total failure from all sides. It shouldn't have been developed as poorly as it has, it shouldn't have made it through QA in the state it was on stream, and it shouldn't have been shown off on stream.

Do better, please.

 

Let's also not forget the NS SD70M which exists in its state for some reason, how that got approved is beyond me.
