Yes, it seems like DTG have given LA the same abandoned look that we have for NYC.

    Fair is fair, I guess?

    Peterborough to Doncaster?

this is quite disappointing I think, why not King’s Cross ?

Couldn't they extend it further to York as in TSC? Must say it's current form is very underwhelming.

Peterborough to Doncaster? Uh. Interesting choice. No Kings Cross? I’d have said a KGX to Grantham would have been better, you could have incorporated the Thameslink stuff for local stopping services.

As it stands with this route you’ll get Peterborough, Grantham, Newark Northgate, Retford and Doncaster. As opposed to all the stations between Peterborough and Kings Cross.

My thoughts exactly. They could have done Kings Cross to Grantham which would have meant they could use the Thameslink for stoppers and the LNER stuff gets to stretch its legs and throw in the odd stopper at Stevenage.

I think there are to many stations they would have to model for kings cross to peterborough

which they’ve done before on many routes. Just look at the Glasgow Cathcart circle. Lots of stations all modelled.

Is about the easiest way to make a route and take your money
A 700 that just came out will be just be an AC AI. Are you kidding me

Literally any other section of the ECML would have been better. Peterborough to Doncaster is the most boring part.

What a waste of the 700 imo. They could have chosen a much better part of ECML , like up to york or Kings Cross - Peterborough (or Grantham) which would have given a good IET run and a very busy route

Peterborough to Doncaster is a massive disappointment. Also don´t care for the steam engine, The most boring part of the ECML.... the austrian route seems to cover the same areas as the old "Three Country Corner" route and is only thing that looks interesting.

The only saving grace is that most (all?) routes available on TSW3 look like they will roll forward.

Scenario Editor 2 new features seem to be ONLY for TSW 4 (and onwards?) routes... certainly the path chaining.
And portals... only been in TSC since.... day 1 :|

    ^This.

Normal game companies call this a free patch, not a paid re-release. This company is a joke.

They don't run north of Peterborough so you will just see them arriving from the south.

I didn't think personally they would have supplied the 700 with a route so soon after release, however Peterborough to Doncaster is a very underwhelming choice.

Yea I was thinking more of a possible 700/1 and 700 would had layer in. I guess I’m think like bringing in the Acela and then announced a US route right after that the Acela doesn’t run. Either way I played that part of the route a lot in TSC is is probably the most boring part on the ECML.

So why is Peterborough to Doncaster referred to on screen as a "Route Extension"?

You were expecting new countries? That’s on you. They focus on the big 3 and occasionally add an outlier.

When they started the bit about ECML on screen it said "Route Extension" on-screen and I'm pretty sure someone described it using those words.

So KX to Peterborough later as an add-on? If so more money for DTG. Not happy having it called TSW4. Is TSW5 next year?

While everyone else is pouting, I’m actually excited. Sure route maybe could’ve been longer, but I’m satisfied.
Even more so because I can finally make my own 24 hour timetable and routes.

I’m gutted on Console for no timetable creator but I’m VERY excited for the free roam.
Slightly annoyed at the location of the ECML and how little layers there sounds to be…
The other slight annoyance is that there isn’t another German route. The American route doesn’t really interest me and the Austrian route sounds a little quiet as I doubt there will be many layers…

This is absolutely amazing! Well done to dtg! Also, yes, tsw4 confirmed!!! You called it MAX1319 ! Love how everyone knew it was Ecml for the UK. I'm amazed it's UE5 as well! Absolutely brilliant! I can't wait!

I see the inclusion of the Editor as the reason that the two yearly product cycle has been interrupted. In time we'll have a few of the routes we want but from the community and free. DTG conceding some potential revenue streams so maybe going to be an annual thing now. It's on that basis that I was happy to buy TSW4 but I do hope in future they include the core updates for existing players like they do in TSC.

Not everyone can afford to keep rebuying a game each year to get all the niggles and bugs fixed in the one they bought last year. Now the community's lobbying for an editor has been successful we should be making sure DTG know that we feel no TSW player should be left behind because they're short of cash.

I think TSW4 itself came as no surprise, but by 'eck have they impressed me with the route selection. As I have said as they announced the ECML route (not only was I sitting next to the line) but I must have looked like a mad man to the passengers on a passing train because I was jumping up and down like I did when Forest were promoted to the PL. Really stoked to have the Scotsman coming too, will certainly have some fun down stoke bank. All the annoyance about this section is unwarranted though I will address that in another post below:). I actually think the core additions are much more deserving of a new game than TSW3 but to be honest ECML will be the highlight for me. I think this could be my first ever pre-order! Also nice to have some news on the JT route and a rough time span for the PFR diesel pack. I am going to have a very empty signature!:D

Here is my other post below!

I will tell you now that this section is much more interesting than south of Peterborough and is actually a great section to drive, in all honesty they didn't really sell it well on stream. Fair enough on the surface it may seem underwhelming (linking to the last sentence) and would help if we had a 125 or 225 but even in an Azuma this section is a whole lot better than south of Peterborough which is just A-B, unless you want to do commuter runs which you can do on existing routes already. Posh to Donny will eventually bring the Intercity driving experience to TSW which for Britain doesn't exist in game currently. I honestly couldn't be happier (well unless it was done in the 70s and went all the way to York)!
Not only this but it gives you a chance to pass through England's best county for the first time ever in TSW. ;)

Actually I think some of you (and you know who you are) actually mentioned that this was one of the possibilities section of the ECML that they would have picked. To be honest I didn’t believe it because the 700 was just released . At the end I was proven to be incorrect about it. 5/6 out of six is not bad. ECML was the only part I was wrong

I have the TSC version which goes to York. That would had been only two more stations which I think for a TSW4 route they should had done. Below is highlights on the TSC version. But anyways I respect your opinion but I don’t agree with it.
I’m still buying it but would had rather gotten ECML south. Maybe in the future I suppose.
    • ECML Modern covers the 112 route miles from Peterborough to York
    • Includes 7 main line stations and Doncaster Works which includes the interior for the main works building
    • Includes 8 Yards

Two more stations, but like 40 miles more of track and surrounding scenery, including York. So a fair amount of work.
I do wish York was included though, or even Doncaster to Kings cross as the route.
