No, YOU should only buy DLC so you can earn achievements....

See how ridiculous it looks when I tell you what to base your buying decisions on?

I don't get why DTG can't even be bothered to code something simple like "complete 20 services", "complete 5 scenarios", "reach route level 20", "reach loco level 10" and "complete all route tasks" into each route, it's is literally copy and paste code, but even that is too much effort.

The worst thing any company can do is take it's customers for granted, not even delivering the basics is doing exactly that, and if they won't even do the basics then I can pretty much guarantee you they won't have done the work on the dispatcher needed to make it cope with all the signal delays in TSW6.

You know I wouldn't mind the route tasks in theory, the problem is DTG spread them all over the damn place. You have to really go out of your way to grab them, and in a train simulator where you often are actually driving the trains and keep schedule you don't really tend to walk around much organically except at yards or certain stations. Incidentally that's where most of the ones I do have come from, route tasks are kind of a fun side-thing to do while waiting at a stop, but they really ain't got much else going for them.

IMO if DTG focused the collectibles more around yards and stations I'd actually probably do them, but as is they're too isolated from the train driving to matter for anyone but completionists.

For me as a completionist i don't care much about the trophy aspect but more about the UI showing me what i've missed in a single page. I find that when i do look at the trophy list and see 3 out of 400 etc it doesn't actually mean anything.

A better solution for route task trophies would be "find 50 collectables", each route has 100 so only having to find 50 encourages exploration of stations etc. without the necessity to find every single one.

Why do you want to tell me the reason why I play what I play? You can say this for yourself but not for others.
And I buy German content because I enjoy. I also enjoy driving trains in other countries, but not that much. If there are no more trophies to collect, that I also enjoy, there is not enough for me to buy other countries stuff. That's my way of deciding what I do. That has not to be everyones opinion, everyone has an own way to decide. No one's decision has to be everyones decision, no one's wrong for himself.

Speaking for myself here, I too don't get the mindset of I ain't buying if no achieves are attached, do appreciate it horses for different courses, and that stuff tickles their pickles. Again speaking for myself, I don't care what the future looks like on this front either, as long as content is made and I have money to buy it.......

in fairness I have bought dlc that I have not played as it had no trophies / achievements
I think the fact the TSW is now a yearly game means they don't want all the bother to add trophies to dlc now as we all know when they break they don't always fix them. They probably see it as time consuming

I really hope the new set of trophies is not copied and pasted, I remember I think it was TSW4 that the plat for it was complete all TSW3 trophies! They could still add more trophies for mileage total or no of services things that you can unlock naturally that can apply to all content perhaps ?

Try looking at it from the other direction, trophies are an incentive to buy DLCs that people may otherwise not have bought, the lack of trophies removes that incentive.

I'm from the UK and spent the majority of my time playing UK routes, but because I enjoy collecting trophies I then bought some of the American and German routes, which soon became buying all of them. I now have 70 routes I can play and no incentive to pick up the Dresden route now it's being sold to us for the third time, I liked American routes more in the early days when freight was a thing in the game, now it's just more of the same, and the UK route doesn't have any new trains unless you buy the deluxe version.

Had those routes had trophies then I would have bought them in a heartbeat, now I'm just going to pick up the free upgrade in the vague hope that DTG can fix the blurry textures on my existing collection. I may pick up newer stuff when it's 80% next summer, but at the moment I doubt I'll bother.
