You want to tell me JT didnt notice they wrote 7 instead of 6 two times in a row?
Similar to what mortal1234 said before I also think this might be a marketing strategy by DTG.

In the RM stream Alex said we would know what a DTG direct usually is about and this year they do things a bit differently which probably just means they wont announce TSW 7 before August 25th.

I think we all know that Cumbrian Coast will come after TSW 7 anyway, no matter what they say

In fairness. An Austrian route did take a place in TSW4 (despite a very small portion being German)

China coming up as a filter, make me think, there will be a china route announced in just a ticket segment... SWR route of some description as the UK route. If London Euston struggles, I dread to think about the frame rate at Waterloo... Germany.... Berlin??

Kind of forgot that one. Wonder why...
The compromise back then was the Vectron and Dresden Remaster and now it seems Austria didnt sell well enough for them to repeat that idea.
Hopefully we see a 3rd party with focus on austria soon.

people say this every year but i still can’t see it happening. despite there still being strong demand for those two, especially the netherlands, the US has had such a rough time in terms of tsw offerings that whatever dtg make for the US will sell pretty well

Plot twist TSW goes over to using Roman numerals and instead of being the classic TSW7, it becomes TSW VII...

Hey they could go back to TSW 1 but call it TSW I and restart all over again using Unreal Engine 5. (Better say I’m joking before someone on here sees this and thinks I’m trying to be dead serious instead of realising it’s a joke teehee).

If we can't for whatever reason have one single game version, I wish they would just name it after the year number, are we really going to go to Train Sim World 15..

Let's all pretend to be surprised when they are all wearing TSW7 shirts during the direct lol

It's weird they didn't just do that early reveal before the direct like they did last year.

    Well now.

Woke up to this story and my screen grab being used by a few of the bigger youtube channels. Its nice to see this story being appreciated by them.

As a struggling and brand new YouTube channel though, it would have been nice to have been credited for what I found or credited for my screen grab they used.

A rising tide lifts all boats.

I agree! The bearded Aussie bloke sort of credited you, but not sure he actually said it was you explicitly.

One thing I do agree with that TSS said is that a reason it is different this year might not just be about a name but exactly what is coming. With the hope it is not just a cookie cutter approach from previous releases. I am happy to speculate about names and inclusions, but surely it has to be different to the previous 3 core things, 3 deluxe things and some dodgy new features. I am worried it could be more of the same and they are corralling a shed load of stuff to bulk out the otherwise mundane.

Alex on the roadmap and others from DTG previously have acknowledged the game needs to be in better shape. I can't help but wonder that if it is something new and pleasing to the community, they surely would have reused the TSW6 playbook and shared early. Not to build hype, but maybe goodwill.

Just watched the TSS clip on YT. He does name the elephant in the room which is that, this time round, TSW7 or whatever it’s called may not be a free update. Perhaps that’s something DTG need to quash before the Direct. And JT altering the description back to TSW6, as I think already noted, does imply under Trade Descriptions for the UK at least they will now need to sell the Cumbrian Coast for TSW6 as well as 7, even though the former will be obsoleted and forgotten by DTG within days of 7 releasing. Best thing JT could do is remove all references to the version number and simply say TSW!

To be honest, I'd be more surprised if there wasn't a leak lol.

As for routes, there's zero chance at all of DTG doing a BR era route for the core UK route. I do think it'll be somewhere that hasn't had any representation, I think Aberdeen to Inverness, with the ScotRail HST and Rivet doing most of the work on it.

However, RM's video specifies that the "Direct" will focus primarily on Train Sim World (without specifying the number 7) and something else.
So it could be a new train simulator or another DTG preview game, or it could be a glimpse into the future.

If it turns out to be a paid update only there better be something very good in there to offset the mess of TSW6 :D But if it's that good/stable that shouldn't be gate kept behind a paywall.

Oh that would be a pleasant surprise. It might well be that the Scotrail HST might be reserved for TSW7. I would hope so.
