Ohh boy, now this is something to look up to. Sure took its time to come to TSW but here we are boys :). First german diesel loco and i hope that this is a sign of more to come in regards to german diesel traction( vintage or modern) ;). Cheers

EDIT: Btw, is this one diesel hydraulic or electric? Pardon me for asking, maybe i should read the article again :P.

Yes! Really looking forward to this. Although originally built for the DR it is a common sight in Western Germany as well.
Great to see finally some 3rd party developers envolved!

I will definitely let everyone else buy it right away and wait for the quality reports. :)

I have high hopes, but middling expectations given they normally develop for PC only. Don't let us down, Rivet!

Thanks DTG, finally we get our first German diesel loco! :) I'm glad that it is the BR 204, which is one of the most build diesel locos in Germany. I think they build over 1000 pieces of this type. Originally called V100 and later modernized, refurbished and renamed as BR 204. Now we can explore the port facility of Aschaffenburg, which has not been able to be used since MSB was released...

Lol, is this where we finally get to drive into the port area and immediately get the "Out of Represented Area" message? :D

As it's third party content i'm guessing it will cost more than usual for a loco pack?

I wouldn't have thought so. I'd imagine the current pricing is about as high as most people will be willing to pay so they risk pricing themselves out of the market entirely if they work upwards from there. There are very few DLC I've paid full price for as it is.

The money has to be split 3 ways between Rivet, DTG & Sony/Microsoft/Steam though. Fingers crossed.

This looks outstanding and the prospect of what other 3rd party developers can do going forward is promising to say the least. Can't wait to take this thing out on the line and explore previously unavailable trackage.

    Very Nice,

but why only for Main-Spessart-Line and not for RRO (Langerfeld Containerterminal, Hagen Yard) and RSN (Hagen Yard, Finnentrop Yard) too?

I'm sure you can use it on other routes too. For example on RSN, because in Finnentrop is already a filling station for diesel locos!

I hope you are right, because the announcement only says Main-Spessart Bahn.

I'd be really careful with such statements. In the BR 155 announcement for example, they explicitly said that it will substitute some services on MSB. Here I read no such thing, it's really just referencing MSB and no other route. Would be nice if DTG would make this clear. I personally hope that we can use it on other routes, but I would not count on it.

Before the announcement I went for a virtual walk around the dock area of MSB in anticipation as I never had done before. It’s quite good down there AND I saw a levitating traffic cone next to one of the tracks. I don’t think I can afford to buy this on release as I’m also anticipating a new British route soon, which I won’t be able to resist.

I’m assuming this will be the same price as DTG loco DLC. I’ll have to wait and see if temptation gets the better of me, as I have recently been enjoying the scenery on MSB after not visiting the route for quite some time, and the train does look very nice inside and out.

I don't think that this loco add-on will offer multi-route support form the start.
It's for MSB now, and later, routes will be upgraded with BR 204 timetable layer.
Anyway, if Rivet Games bringing this masterpiece, there are for sure other devs who also work on some stuff with Closed-Beta version of editor. So editor release is not too far on horizon...

    price - €13.99 - look at https://rivetgames.onfastspring.com/

Yeah, that's what I think. But let's hope when released, DTG don't forget they wanted to add the BR 204 to the other routes.;)

We have been waiting a long time for a German shunter and I’m glad the day has finally come! Rivet games being the first third party developer for TSW is almost more exciting! The more studios that use the TSW tools the more ideas they can bounce off of DTG. What a great moment for TSW!!

it says for shunting duties on MSB but there is a branch line that needs a diesel to go down and if i can remember there are 2 or 3 stations down there with people waiting on platforms. So will the diesel be made to do passenger services on the branchline

    It is for sure!!

They need at least 3 third party teams to work with them, so they(DTG) can focus also in improving already done routes, correcting bugs, and work in new core features for the simulator, while earning money, and without the need to rush products or make them smaller to sell them in a regular basis...

As I suspect, they don't forget, they just work on other planed priorities. They don't have taskfree manpower to take care about community requests. DB RB 204 isn't the only switching loco type in Germany so next release of similar type for other route can bring this one via substitution mechanism to such route (like other locos do now).
Hope there will be some mainline action with this loco to serve at Lohr, or maybe some manifest train hauled by electric loco that carry this one for daily task here/back as "death in tow" .

It’s for MSB only. Rivet Games made the services for it on MSB.

Another switching [ranghieren?] DLC! I couldn't resist spawning in walking in the Aschaffenburg yards, which contain some interesting machinery, including a turntable (not really needed by the DB BR 204, but ... :
    TSW_Tommaso_1585835341_00.jpg

There are also some loading devices, such as this scrap metal crane:
    TSW_Tommaso_1585835527_00.jpg
That crane wasn't operating, but this container crane was moving back and forth between the stacked containers and the track:
    TSW_Tommaso_1585836658_00.jpg
Perhaps tomorrow I'll wander around Lohr?

This is long overdue and probably one of the most requested pieces of content from the community. The 204 interior looks absolutely fantastic and it will be great to finally explore those previously locked off areas in MSB

9AFDAE3E-5456-4993-B084-22D6F06772F7.png I really like this cab. I wonder if that crane can load containers? If it’s the working crane I’d be excited even if it looked like it was! I believe Matt said on the TSW HHR hotfix stream on YouTube to keep an eye out over the next coming days for more news!

The cab is very reminiscent of the 155 cab which is why I love it....locomotives manufactured around this era have a certain je ne sais quoi, which just tickles my fancy
