If it uses AP sounds it will sound to good I hope that is the case
DTG Natster : might want to change the final sentence of the article: "Keep an eye on @trainsimworld on Twitter and Facebook for more screenshots and videos of the new route."
The way things are going, I think we'll be lucky if it has any sounds at all.
Your stream? Send me the link and point out to me in which time of "your stream" did he said that
Yes, "his" stream on "his" youtube channel
Simple search would have shown sarcastic speech marks not required
Any guesses to what sounds will be used?
The 465s have a pretty unique run up and run down sound so hopefully they're done well. The main running sound isn't too loud on them anyway so that doesn't matter as much
Yes, I agree but I would like to see the unique run up and down sound as mentioned as this would make players happier and would bring a much more realistic experience.
Well as you don't believe me, here's a direct link to the section of the stream where Matt P is discussing in the introduction of the 465. You'll need chat open, as it's where he answers my questions regarding the 465.
Bryer Gaming Twitch link for @helderbrincolas
If the link fails to work, skip to 3 hours and 51 minutes exactly for the 465 discussion, until about 4 hours in. Armstong Powerhouse is mentioned at 3 hours and 58 minutes.
Thank you very much for the link, now I am exited for the 465!
I would have searched if i knowed is YouTube channel
Ok thanks, i just wanted the confirmation.
It's in my signature to be fair!
You can never have enough Networkers
My personal favourites are the Thames Turbos, though I may be biased owing to the fact that the 165 and 166 are the trains I practically grew up on, since I have many memories of riding them from Oxford to Paddington to see relatives who lived in the capital, but the 465 & 466 come a close second.
I don't actually own TSW2 yet, either (I'm a bit broke!), but I'm intending to grab it as soon as possible and have been following events closely, so this'll be one of the first addons I get for it to join the legacy collection from my copy of the original TSW, along with SEHS itself, of course!
Or just google it, either way, sarcasm wasn't really warranted
I didn't know his YouTube channel. Edited by DTG Natster - keep things friendly
Because they are using AP's sounds we should hopefully get something that sounds like this:
If they sound like that in TSW2 then it possible is going to be the best DLC at the moment.
Indeed. If the cab model and level of detail is on par with the exterior model + that sounds it will become, in my opinion, the best train in TSW.
If Not DTG Can ask the User to get the Sound.
Who reckons they're going to use the 377 or class 43 sounds?
No hopefully the sounds are realistic
Nice to see - there will be Networker livestream on Thursday. Hoping for some really nice sounds there.
The sounds are Armstrong Powerhouse so they are hopefully going to be really good
I really hope they are AP. It's about time TSW got AP'd!
TSW has had AP sounds before, and this is the same conversation that takes place everytime AP are brought up.
Unfortunately there seems to be a serious issue with sound in unreal when it comes to TSW 2, whoever did the 166 needs to be brought back.
Sound implementation is just as important, regardless of whether AP did it or if someone using a phone did
Just confirmed, class 465 releasing next Thursday
On the subject of sounds, at least it's one of the Met-Cam units that still has the GTO traction, the BREL/Brush ones now have Hitachi IGBT kit under the floor so you'd all be complaining about reused Javelin sounds
My hopes are high for the sounds of this loco , hopefully we are not disappointed
Yeah, I hope they did the sounds just right.
While watching the stream I realised that it will probably be my favourite train for TSW2, hopefully it will be reused on some other route in the future.
The 465 sounds amazing on stream
Class 465 sounded good to me. Looking forward to getting it.
Fantastic sounds on the 465...the AP sounds really are a step up
Could take it on a railtour around Sussex!!!
Genuinely impressed with the motor sounds with this. Sounded very nice despite the console audio flaws.
Now if only you could get AP to do all of your sounds...
I can only agree with everyone on the sounds, they are great! I think it's definitely one of, if not, the best sounding trains we have in TSW.
(Obviously ignoring the wonky AWS alarms on the xbox, but that's not a new issue).
Certainly looking forward to its releases after watching tonight’s stream
The 465 sounds are absolutely fantastic! What a great sounding train. This will definitely make a better experience for everyone, including the people who don’t usually pay attention to the sounds, as sounds are just as important as anything such as graphics and performance. For example you could have two different machine guns that have the same damage numbers. One for the Allies and one for Germany so they are very similar. The whole player base can tell you that “Gun 1 is weaker compared to Gun 2 and Gun 1 needs it’s damaged increased.” The developers are puzzled as to why players feel this way, knowing the guns are the exact same. They finally realized the reason why people felt that Gun 1 was weaker was because of its audio compared to the other! Gun 2 has a loud, hard hitting sound when shooting. Gun 1 has a soft, dampened audio. Audio was the exact reason for this and was also the solution. Audio is just an important cog in a much bigger machine. Please let DTG know that they nailed it and that they made a lot of the player base happy with audio on this dlc.
Totally agree with above statement, look forward to it's release
The audio is so very important to me and the 465 just nails it! That was impressive. I like seeing the precedent of getting TS developers with excellent audio to contribute to TSW equipment. I hope that becomes a trend, particularly for the North American content.
The cab of 465 looked great as well and I love the driver's view. Can't wait to run this one!
Matt must have known they nailed it, I love when they are about to show something and Matt is just waiting for the reaction from the chat. I can imagine when they nail something it must feel great to have the overwhelming excitement of the players!
Initially I had concerns about how this unit would end up, with the 166 in the game and DTG’s track record of reusing assets, I was worried we’d see too many similarities, I also had concerns about sound accuracy.
However, WOW, the cab looked fantastic, the seat height looked a little off because of the way the dashboard wasn’t in view, however from reference pictures we can see that the seat height is around where it should be, the modelling is great throughout.
The sounds are great, throughly great, it’s a shame about the Xbox sound quality, however it’s not purely a DTG issue, I’ve noticed those kind of issues among other games on Xbox, which was one of the factors that pushed me away from Xbox.
This will be midnight purchase for me, I can’t wait, and I hope we see those Faversham services come ASAP.
Well done DTG.
It looks as though the 465 replaces around half of the Gravesend-Rainham 2Lxx & Rochester-Gillingham 2Kxx services. It was shown in the stream the 465 has a total of 51 services but the total # of 2Lxx & 2Kxx services in the game is 114
Has it been confirmed the 465 will replace some of the other 375 services later on ?
Matt said that Faversham services should of been in there and will look into why they aren't.
Great -- I must've missed that
From the stream and everyone’s positive reactions I really hope this loco dlc has everyone that thinks DTG did a good job coming to the forums and letting DTG know what and why they did a good job. You can learn just as much from what your doing right as you can from what your doing wrong. Really happy with the direction DTG have brought to TSW2 and I’m finding myself anxiously waiting for news or an announcement more then I was with TSW.
Just here to add more praise for audio on the Class 465! It really does sound fantastic, and well-balanced in UE4's audio player (barring the missing sound occlusion in the one carriage).
Well I'm glad that you all enjoyed the AP sounds as mentioned earlier in the thread.
This is probably the best train DLC that DTG have released in both TSC and TSW, in my opinion.
Yes the AWS sounds wonky on Xbox, but if you're an Xbox player then you'll be used to it sounding similar to all other AWS'. I've got faith in DTG to actively pursue a resolution to this over the coming weeks and months.
Top work Guys and girls.
very good uk class 465
