    Well yes, I inferred that the different settings levels were intended for different systems, I only bothered sharing my testing because without those two single lines of the ini, the Low/High/Ultra presets didn't touch my FPS, and I found it strange that I had to go to Low when my system was doing just fine on High/Ultra without any ini mods (and of course as you said, the fact you understandably can't capture every system). Nevertheless, many thanks for continuing to share your work, it's much appreciated! :)

    It was a worthwhile discussion though as it may have opened up another avenue to save some performance overhead. It often happens that way :) I need to look at it more, and it depends on whether or not people would be open to another update of the mod. If I did do that I would reinstate the High preset as I suspect people are missing it.

    hey I saw it somewhere in a screenshot, how do I turn on lens flare? may be annoying soon but I wanna test it. and is there also a command for light rays? oh and something about meshes or whatever this is idk much about game developing

    it pops out turning into a lower quality platform also when going not too far away, which line was it again to increase the LOD of that?

    command to turn it off is r.DefaultFeature.LensFlare=False
    so on would be True
    might also be related to other commands

    or else try r.LensFlareQuality=1

    As alluded to above here’s a look at the (as yet unreleased) version 4.2 of this Graphics and Lighting EP mod for TSW4. Four videos, recorded ‘as is’, with no editing.

    These were deliberately set on 2 of the toughest routes under some of the most demanding lighting conditions for performance (Train Sim World’s witching hour so to speak), and hopefully the v4.2 performance gains vs the increased quality of the visuals (particularly shadow resolution) is obvious. Ordinarily these two routes at these times of day would send my GPU into low-Earth orbit, and although it’s working now it barely breaks a sweat at between 50-80% usage.

    You may also hear evidence of an earlier version of another mod I’m working on for Birmingham Cross City!

    If only the game looked like this for everyone eh? :cool:

    Looking great Jetwash.

    You could concentrate how it looks soooooo much better if DTG would sort out the wandering shadow in the middle of the ballast/sleepers. (video 4).
    I am not picky, and don`t really notice some stuff that others do, but its the one thing that really, really annoys me. And as you know, it varies across routes.
    I do not see its purpose. Is it a side effect of something else going on?

    That’s the best it can be sadly. Absolutely nothing will change it, it needs to be done in the core game and given it’s been that way for 7 years I wouldn’t expect it to change anytime soon.

    Playing it now and it works perfectly, thank you. It just blows my mind that between this and the incredible graphics mod that you and Foobian make possible, how asleep DTG is at the switch. Two changes that significantly impact the quality of life, and all we get from them are either silence or lots of talk about how they're waiting for the big, all-encompassing solution that never seems to come.

    Thank you for taking the time to do this, and looking forward to finally hearing voices on the Bakerloo line someday. Now we just need to convince you to do a mod to fix passengers, haha.

    Thankyou. Hopefully I’ll get round to Bakerloo. It’s fairly linear so shouldn’t need to many variations in service pattern hopefully.

    A just a little late to the party here, Video #4 looks best to me IMHO. I did take screenshots with v4.1.1 and 4.0.1, I can post them if needed, to show as I see it in-game, please keep in mind I do have many of the TOD mods from Aran installed and my GPU has been Upgraded yet again Due to A Fan failure on the Open Box 3090 FTW to a PNY RTX 4080 Verto OC 16GB GDDR6X Everything is running very differently and to a degree looking a little different?

    I will give ya new Aufio mod a try when I get to it, still putting mods back in and updating what I do have.

    The videos are all made with the same version of this mod, which will be 4.2. This has only really come about because of the recent conversation on this thread but from what I’m seeing, as a result of the changes made, it performs a fair bit better. The shadows, particularly close up cascaded shadows, look much more realistic. Reducing resolution elsewhere seems to have virtually no effect (ie none) on the visual quality but helps boost performance a lot.

    There’s no need to post screenshots of previous versions though, but thanks for the offer.

    JetWash I have the Aran TOD mods installed for some routes as well, what would be your advice in regards to compatibility with your mod as I have been wondering if your settings wouldnt work as intended with the TOD mods installed.

    Again cant thank you enough for your efforts as well

    How does this impact content in the main ini file? Does it override it or does the main one get priority? For example I have the following lines in my main ini that are not mentioned in the manual and was wondering if they have any impact when this mod is enabled in godmode.

    i would not use those streaming lines
    they where removed some versions ago for a reason

    i have some lines as extra
    but i put them in the the 3rd section
    of the ini thing of the godmode
    so they will load in on all the routes

    i really like the extra movements with the camera

    StenioBlackHawnk there's a Dynamic INI window within God Mode that allows you to see all the custom INI settings for each route. I plan on copying the text from Vorarlberg and applying it temporarily to Rosenheim.

    I'm picking Vorarlberg because it's a similar area of the world, and those two routes are of similar age in terms of release dates. I haven't actually tried it for the Rosenheim route yet, but it might provide you with a nice stop gap until everything get's updated.

    (I'm sure it goes without saying, but GodMode got updated to include Rosenheim. You'll also need to download that first)

    well i was getting access violation with reference to a dx 12 module. ununstalling and reinstalling the drivers did the trick

    windows 11 and their drivers
    i once had a period that i could not use dx 12 on any game it refused to work always a crash
    even earlier drivers did not work
    or reinstalling DirectX itself
    or the repair function of windows itself sfc and such things
    luckily it was close to an big windows 10/11 update
    and that fixed it

    This is the first time I heard this, guess I have been lucky, I did run into this kind of odd things stuff with XP and Win7, this is the fiirst Win11 I have had, keeping my fingers crossed.

    yeah it was the first time I had such problem
    now I make a image backup 2 times a week (macrium reflect)
    good way to prevent a profile loss too :cool:

    Hi. Is the route worth buying? I don’t get anything at all from DTG so I have to buy all these DLC myself (and at full price to have them shortly after release) to make profiles for them. It sure adds up!

    you could always watch a YouTube video
    the route is nice enough
    the scenery is good if you ignore the floating forest
    an 1 gab/hole in the ground near the tracks just past Rosenheim
    there is choice of plenty layered Trains to choose from
    i like it but my expectations are not that high, never been :)
    for me this game is kind of relaxation from live

    At this price, I would say Not worth it, if it goes on sale and a good sale at that, or if a 3rd party vendor. Even at the 10% discount that was still $36+tax er $35.99. Right now I'm biting my tongue.

    So after Spikee1975 and OldVern and some other peoples postings let me buy the new route, here is a cabride with the 111 at Salzburg-Rosenheim with JetWash's mod, using the Voralberg preset.

    DTG JD - Sorry for the tag. But just an idea. Is it possible that when a mod is in quite wide use and requires to be updated for each DLC, that DTG gift them occasional keys.

    In my opinion these guys are the real Ambassadors improving the game for so many of us.

    honestly just like farm sim does it would be great to integrate very popular or heavily used mods by the playerbase to be integrated into the same ofcourse crediting the devs of the mod in any way fit. would fix the editor projects can't be given to console too. but it's something to think of I'd say after the editor has been worked out and out of it's beta

    Nice, didn't know about that, and It's a lot better now, thank you! :)

    Oh yeah, It's a lovely route, with a lot of challenge because the route have so many up and downs, and a lot of of slow speed sections, btw this in my opinion the best route from DTG scenery wise, the only down side for me is the sound of the 111 wich is not reallistic, and some AI's have PIS bug.

    To be honest I doubt it’s even close to 20%. Nevertheless I don’t see the harm in rewarding those that do something for the community without asking for anything in return.

    The ‘streaming’ ambassadors get given keys all the time on top of which they get money for memberships and ad revenue (and good for them for monetising their hobby). I’d argue that they are not benefiting a large percentage of the community either.

    Just think it would be a nice gesture from DTG to help out now and then when somebody clearly is making a big effort.

    what are your undervolt settings if you don't mind? i also have an MSI RTX 3080 Ventus 3X OC LHR and I've been trying to find the right undervolt settings that won't crash my games or my system.

    GodMode has had roughly 32,500 separate downloads. The TSW4 version of this ‘mod’ (or whatever the heck we call it) is currently at 16,500 downloads. The TSW3 version had a further 4,500 on top of that, so about 21,000 total.

    FWIW I’d say those are not inconsequential numbers.

    It's also easy to forget what this mod does when you use it all the time.

    These pictures are taken in exactly the same place, the start of the 3rd service in the first chapter of the Regional Railways Journey Mode. The first image is the stock game, no mods, no Lighting EP. The second is with mods and with this lighting pack. A picture speaks a thousand words in my opinion.

    ps A mobile device lessens the impact of the difference in the screenshots because of the way the mobile screens work. Actually in the game I would say the stock image is so bright it’s verging on unplayable. The speedo is actually unreadable.

    I know and I get it, I really do.
    I do and don't expect DTG to do anything for the modding community, well not much that is.
    Even if you/all the modders set up a Ko-Fi page.
    Maybe make it a Group Jar type of thing, just don't get caught with ya hand in it.
