They sold that experiment for 33 dollars. But DTG have had years developing steam for train simulator classic. its kind off shocking that they still don't have steam working in the game, perhaps TSW 10 they will figure it out. Yet some how Derail Valley currently has the best stream simulation on the market
TSC is a whole different ball game compared to TSW though. They are still learning and it will probably take time. I would like more steam routes but currently that doesn't seem to be the case. Not to mention not a lot of people are into steam routes, there are more interested in Br Blue onwards if memory serves me right. I may be wrong though.
Unless, as someone else pointed out earlier, TSW4 is a free update for TSW2 owners. In that case, TSW2 wouldn't need any seperate updates anymore. Not saying I expect this to happen, but it's an interesting theory.
Who said TSW4 is coming I will only believe if Dovetail say it them selves and this leak might be fake and yes the 700 the loco pack 2 was leaked and did come out but that was only because of epic. The point what I'm trying to make is I will only believe it if it's a other steam/epic games leak or if Dovetail say it them selves. And TSW3 was leaked because of JD.
Because of me, they can get rid of the numbering entirely, as with the TSC. Core updates would then always be free and I would no longer have 5 different TSW versions in the Steam overview. You only have to pay for the - already expensive - DLC. That would be much easier - for us. Basically, when TSW3 was introduced, you only paid for the included routes/vehicles, the core update was on top of that. A possible TSW4 would also not come without new routes (D/GB/USA), which you would end up buying anyway. So that would be "half as wild". A move to TSW4 after just a year would have to involve some glaring innovation if they're going to deviate from their usual practice. I don't really believe in it yet. However, it seems strange when DTG say that they can't confirm or deny anything. A clear placement for TSW3 looks different. I think a change to the UE5 is out of the question because the effort is simply too great, even to convert DLC from TSW0-2-3 with UE4 to UE5. You would start at 0 and nobody wants that. The current UE4, which uses TSW3, has already been significantly adapted to the needs of DTG, also with elements from the UE5. You'd better focus on making this better than building an even bigger keg. As nice as I would find official editors and mod tools, it would be unrealistic to publish them, even under UE5. That should be clear to everyone here.
The evidence at present is entirely circumstantial and everyone might be adding 2 + 2 to make 7. However the indications are there that something big is coming, the virtual dearth of anything new from DTG, nothing on the Roadmap for the late summer. Obviously DTG won’t openly confirm or deny as someone will end up collecting their P45 and walking down the Labour Exchange for that. But… watch this space.
True something big is coming but it might just be a broken rush hour release again even though it's been 2 years without any fixes to the rush hour routes so they should fix BLM before they come out with a TSW4.
Bugs aside, imo they’re the best passenger DLC’s DTG have dropped for TSW in each respective country. Edit: If they are dropping another Rush hour it could even cover past era’s
The problem is, it was more like “Rushed Hour” at the end. Scenery unfinished on BML with missing track at Redhill still not addressed. The scope of Dresden to Riesa was scaled back. And Boston Sprinter had issues with signalling and timetable plus at least one scenario where if you play as directed, you crash into the depot door.
A new version every year is very much the norm for a lot of games these days so I don't see a problem with it. If TSW4 comes with multiple new routes at a reasonable price like TSW3 then I will be happy. I am looking forward to seeing what new features it might bring too.
I’m excited and can’t wait to rumors to finally get announced and become official. I’m sure we all have different wish list but at the end it will be something we can all enjoy.
I've seen a lot of posts with the same year in year out tittle tattle of what this "leaked" next version of TSW should or should not have. It's the same year in year out. Just wait till the actual "OFFICIAL" announcement comes from DTG, then you can all have the same moan about it as you did last year with the words of cash grab etc etc thrown in for good measure. The people that still own and run TSW 2 good for you, you stuck to your guns and didn't bother with TSW 3, but don't expect the next version of TSW to do you any favours in any way. Simple as that. The people that want TSW to use UE 5 well its probably not going to happen, just to warn you to avoid disappointment. Its the same every year. Three new core routes and the price rise. If it was any different you would be up in arms about that as well oh wait. Dovetail will tell us in their own good time. In between that you still have DLC to buy / moan / complain or drool over. Hentis
ah yes a French chiffon de Terre writes absolute nonsense onto an article, some information is inaccurate, for example tsw 3 only being for gen 9.... yeah i raise 5 and call you know what, i guess some folks on here really will believe anything they read on the internet, also if DTG do indeed have someone leaking info on the inside, shouldn't they begin an inside investigation to find out who it is and take action against them. to finish off i guess parents are terrible and didn't tell you to not believe everything on the internet or take it as gospel
Let's just agree that if no TSW4 was planned, we would have been officially announced by now. Well, like - "this is all nonsense, we will not release any new game this year." But the silence suggests only the thought that the announcement is being prepared, by the time when there will be something to show, not just to tell.
Nothing on the road map…… Quarterly numbers are coming up that get compared year to year…… oh yea something is definitely coming up
Yes, how dare we want DTG to fix its content - most of which is still broken in some way or another - instead of churning out another game we're forced to buy for the few fixes they deign to give us.
Please no. Like yes it was a good idea and a bad one to. But the worst one is the BLM my only problem is the performance issues and Dovetail still haven't fixed them after 2 years.
They have new tools to automatically test the performance that were not available when they released Rush Hour. Hopefully that will help them prevent that kind of problem in future releases.
So true skyhook are the only company who are putting out frequent fixes for the MML and Dovetail and other companies have only put out like one fix for there routes and we need to wait for a long time till there are at least there are 1 fix.
I picture JD and Matt are watching the goings-on in this thread while having some pop-corn and with a big (perhaps evil) grin on their faces
True but I can see JD leak it again I remember last year him going on teams and it was about TSW3 sparks something like that.
Perhaps those seeking to discourage discussion are the DTG forum moles..! Anyhow how’s this for a totally outrageous proposition? In returning for agreeing to scrap Flight Sim World and hand FSX back to MS, MS sold DTG the code for the second attempt at MSTS2 which as some will recall, was supposed to be “World Of Rails”. So the TSW team has been tirelessly beavering away the last 18 months combining WOR into TSW to literally give us Train Sim World. We can but dream!
That sounds very close to an official DTG statement, Antony. How about taking off your Ambassador's hat for a moment and telling us what you really think. What, with all these Ambassadors and the ever-increasing number of beta testers, it's gonna be hard to find an objective voice on the forums. Hmm, now if I were a conspiracy theorist........ Maybe those of us who are left without an official blessing should indicate that independence by a secret code in our posts.
If I were to tell you what I really think then I would probably get a ban from the forum. So nah you're ok there.
You're entitled you your opinion as am I. What you think is ignorant and incorrect, I believe has antidotal evidence to back it up. If you've the time and patience, look back at the posting history of a number of ambassadors and beta testers and I can guarantee you, for some at least you can virtually pin point the time they became what they are.
So if we are are getting some sort of core update and 3 routes in not the too distant future do you guys think one of them will be and extension of one of the TSW2 routes?
My next door neighbour is a freemason (allegedly). I'll have to ask him to share the secret handshake. As regards Ambassadors, well IMHO the door should swing both ways and represent the clientele as well as the management. They should be actively discussing the "reveal" on the French site and how any forthcoming announcement about whatever plans there are might be worth bringing forward to assuage concerns. And I suspect this is why the odd chirp here and there from those we know are on the testing team have now dried up completely, the best thing to do if you're frightened of a slip is not to say anything at all.
Yes, I remember how crestfallen we all felt when Microsoft cancelled MSTS2. Didn't know what would happen to train simming. Guess we have to thank Railworks ( DTG ) for picking up the baton.
TSW are simply trying to catch the Fast and Furious rate of franchise releases. Each one will get more and more feature filled. TSW18. Flying pianos and working hair dryers with the all new reskin of a 66 with an OHLE warning sticker in a different place. £111111.00 you heard it here first.....
The three core routes I would love to see is if they make a "TSW4" is the shinkansen I don't know what routes this train runs on all I know is that is in Japan and with any Japanese route it will be a good train to see in the game something different. And then if we go to England the class 800 Azuma with the Intercity 225 in LNER colours maybe King's X to Edinburgh Waverley because I feel like we need a big core route in the game and then. I would like to see the Euro Tunnel used in someway Eurostar or the main Eurotunnel train. Because these 3 routes would add something different to TSW 3 or 4
Love how half the time I'm a fanboi and the other half I'm with the moaning folk... I'll carry one saying it how I see it, when DTG do something I like I'll praise them, when they let me down I'll call them out for it.
And if you want URE 5 you will have to pay a extra £500 on all consoles yes even though gen 8 is now 20 years old it will be fine just but some ice in the top of your gen 8 console to cool it down.
We just need a new UK route for the core instead of a extension and then after they could add it later as a payed DLC for a extension of a route.
You mean like the time you started making personal attacks on FB to people who dared to point out you was breaking the group rules as your only contribution to the group was self publicity and you was banned from there when you turned nasty?
I honestly don't understand what's wrong with speculation and discussion and why people try so hard to try and shut it down across multiple threads? DTG literally released a count down clock for the TSW just to fuel speculation and get people talking. Im sure dtg would rather us be here debating and wondering what the summer release will be rather than having a dead forum? If it winds people up so much they should honestly keep on scrolling
I wasn't banned I left as far as I aware as I am almost 101% certain that it was me that pressed the leave group button ?
We are all here because our passion and love for trains. Funny thing is I’m an aircraft technician and love aircrafts. But I always have love for trains also.During covid and lock down I bought this little game called TSW2 and the rest is history. The point is we are here to talk to give our feedbacks, wishlist , and ways to make this game better. Speculation is part of the game and it happens with everything in life. Is ok to have different opinions and different wants. Some like newer trains, some like old school trains. At the end we want the same thing. A Game we can enjoy. With that said exciting times ahead
This. Whether it's TSW4 or simply a late summer bundle I'm actually feeling quite positive about the situation and eager to see what's round the corner. There's no harm in that, nor in those who feel TSW4 would be a mistake at this point. And on the subject of clues and beta testers, can it just be coincidence regarding the expansion of the testing team? You don't do that for a few routine fixes or route releases.
As the admin which had to unfortunately ban you (after trying to calm you down), I can assure you that you are incorrect on that.
