I'll give my guesses... - Some London Underground route with S Stock, as this is why the Mildmay Route extension to Richmond was not done earlier. Of course, you could use the existing D Stock, but who knows... - MML Blackfriars to Bedford with 221 and existing stock - ECML London to Peterborough, merging with the existing section (expect the unexpected, route merger...)
Iirc the issue with Berlin is more for Mainline routes as Berlin lacks any proper end-point within a reasonable distance, the best being somewhere like Potsdam which is just an S-Bahn line away from Berlin. I imagine the Ringbahn's biggest issue would just be the sheer number of lines that it crosses paths with and the number of layers coming from that.
sheffield derby i would like to see as skyhook expansion of there DNL route. in my own little world with a little assistance from JT in terms of reference material after the excellent job they did in TSC. i do think skyhook could really make something of their base route if they went down the same route (no pun intended) as JT did in TSC especially with the same timetable and route hopping. sheffield lincoln now there is no major coal traffic is a rather bland route for me with its hour + local stoppers and not much else. i got board on that section when i used to got to waddington for the airshow and nato exercises, made worse in the week day mornings when for part of the journey it was like being on a school bus with all the kids. hope valley and doncaster to me would fall in line if skyhook expanded from derby to sheffield. i would like to see the hope valley in there but as it is now there is no stock (class 66 aside) that is ready out the box to run, same on the doncaster line. indeed ive got the DNL route for the layers on MAC and there is still no appeal to it due to the lack of stock and that i still have JTs TSC route with far more variation. shame as the hope valley is my local route and i would like to see it done. only route for me out of Sheffield is the woodhead line but which era, BR blue, victoria would be closed and derelict and it would be freight only, but you do have a good amount of stock for it. go the mid 60s it would take some work but has the base to be a very good steam diesel electric route with a vast scale of variation in stock and service mixes. my only fear is it would end up like the TSC version which to be polite was C**P and i think that was down to deadlines and rushing the route out too soon
It's mainly guessing/wishing than prediction: UK: West Coastway or another London Underground route CE (central europe): Wiener S-Bahn Liesing - Floridsdorf (Vienna, Austria) US: Another Metrolink route or another NEC route.
None of the Florida Commuter rails run any switchers. SunRail only has MP32PH-Q's and Bombardier Bi-Levels Tri-Rail mainly has their unique BL36PH's and a handful of GP49H-3 (Being retired after this year) F40PHR-3C's, and F40PHM-3c'S
The best Berlin route would have to implement the Stadtbahn Viaduct which I doubt the game would be able to do justice to. A full S9 or S1 route would be great but I can't see it happening. Using the Underground Mainline through HBF And Potsdamer Platz would be fine but then you make the great point of where do you go?? I'd take the Ringbahn though!
I was playing on the MML route the other day in timetable mode. Set the date to late August and did a 1930ish run. Loaded in and it was pitch black, totally unrealistic. I wish for TSW6 they fix this so it’s more immersive. Not having a rant or a go however as I love this game and played 497H alone on TSW5 (20.7 days straight)
Expect the unexpected. It'll be a popular extension to an existing mainline route that'll make full use of route and an all new Timetable journey hopping function where it meets the existing route. Reading to Bristol or Cardiff; Peterborough to London; Victoria to Gillingham; Milton Keynes to Birmingham; Doncaster to Newcastle; Cardiff to Swansea; East Croydon to Bedford; The really unexpected additional DLC for release later in 2025; Brighton Main Line to either get an update with Class 700 or a backdated version with 319s and 423s.
All of those would be good, though I would still like to see TVL go to Boulby, Bishop Auckland and maybe Sunderland via the Coast.
That would be an excellent route to update, or maybe backdate to the early 60s and add now closed routes to Durham, Middleton-in-Teesdale and Wearhead. The Weardale and Teesdale route in TSC is sublime.
Now we are talking. Bring Mr Derek back out of retirement so he can bring his skill and wisdom to bear on the project.
The cool thing about this suggestion would be if you run late on the first run (e.g. London to Peterborough) you are loaded in at the same time as the matching timetable service on Peterborough to Doncaster and then deal with any consequences of running late from Peterborough.
They’ve said multiple times they are never touching BML ever again. It’s too complex and can only just hold together as it is.
i'm going for Doncaster to Birmingham. cross country licence and three options for route hopping. Think its too long though at about 1.30 drive
Well the unofficial official leak (see other thread) would seem to point to the UK route being something GWR and the European one a Dutch line. Nothing further on the US.
