Long shot but does anyone know of a way to get rid of the clag / smoke in the game? Not only does it look like hot garbage, and nothing like actual clag, I've discovered it's causing a lot of stuttering and spikes in frame times, amazingly. I noticed during frame time spikes there was a flicker on the screen, so I recorded it at a very high FPS and slowed it down using my iPhone and what do you know.... Yup, even when I am in the cab, the game is rendering the clag of my train. *why?* - this is just so poorly optimized. But the best bit is not only is it rendering it, it's getting the physics confused and throwing it off into the infinity realm every 30 seconds or so causing these lag spikes. TSW had a similar issue with the HST hose connectors when Great Western Express first launched. So it'd be amazing to ditch the clag, not only would it look infinitely better, it'd fix the weird frametime spikes too.
I think the best way is doing that in the ini. I'm currently on mobile but someone posted list of variables in this forum like 3 month ago, maybe there is a way to set fume=0 for performance reasons
Well, this is why I ask, I couldn't find such a setting for the ini. Is Fume a valid variable for the ini or just a guess? Thanks.
